  abstract  = {"[...] Der erste Teil des Vortags konzentriert sich auf die bei Ericsson gemachten Erfahrungen. Welche Muster wurden identifiziert, f{\"u}r welche Tests wurden sie eingesetzt. Wie werden diese Muster verwendet, wie werden sie beschrieben und spezifiziert. Und schließlich, wie entsteht eine Art Standardisierung, in der das Wissen {\"u}ber diese Muster als Organisationswissen zur Verf{\"u}gung steht. Im zweiten Teil des Vortrags werden die bei Ericsson gemachten Erfahrungen verallgemeinert. Die bei Ericsson verwendeten Muster werden auf allgemeine Strukturen {\"u}bertragen (z.B. Client-Server). Es wird gezeigt, wie die Zuordnung von Testverfahren auf Netzwerkmuster auch in anderen Dom{\"a}nen verwendet wird und welche Vorteile sich damit erzielen lassen."   abstract  = {The carbonized rice husk (CRH) was evaluated for its wound healing activity in rats using excision models. In this study, the influences of CRH on wound healing in rat skin in vivo and cellular behavior of human dermal fibroblasts in vitro were investigated. The obtained results showed that the CRH treatment promoted wound epithelization in rats and exhibited moderate inhibition of cell proliferation in vitro. CRH with lanolin oil treated wounds were found to epithelize faster as compared to controls.},

  abstract  = {Recently, the SHARP Corporation, Japan, has developed the world's first "Plasma Cluster Ions (PCI)" air purification technology using plasma discharge to generate cluster ions. The new plasma cluster device releases positive and negative ions into the air, which are able to decompose and deactivate harmful airborne substances by chemical reactions. Because cluster ions consist of positive and negative ions that normally exist in the natural world, they are completely harmless and safe to humans. The amount of ozone generated by cluster ions is less than 0.01 ppm, which is significantly less than the 0.05-ppm standard for industrial operations and consumer electronics. This amount, thus, has no harming effects whatsoever on the human body. But particular properties and chemical processes in PCI treatment are still under study. It has been shown that PCI in most cases show strongly pronounced irreversible killing effects in respect of airborne microflora due to free-radical induced reactions and can be considered as a potent technology to disinfect both home, medical and industrial appliances.},

  abstract  = {Summary and Conclusions PCIs were clearly effective in terms of their antibacterial effects with the strains tested. This efficacy increased with the time the bacteries were exposed to PCIs. The bactericidal action has proved to be irreversible. PCIs were significantly less effective in shadowed areas. PCI exposure caused multiple protein damages as observed in SDS PAGE studies. There was no single but multiple molecular mechanism causing the bacterial death.},

Microscopically, additional formation of stress fibers accompanied by cell re-arrangements in a monolayer was observed. Also, significant activation of p53 gene was revealed as compared to control. Interestingly, the use of CellTech membrane coating induced cell death after mechanical stress had been applied. Such an effect was not detected when fibronectin had been used as an adhesion substrate.},

In our conference contribution, we 1) describe the IceMole design, 2) report the results of the field tests of the first prototype on the Morteratsch glacier, 3) discuss the probe's potential for the clean in-situ analysis and sampling of subsurface ice and subglacial liquids, and 4) outline the way ahead in the development of this technology.},

  abstract  = {Bacterial lipopolysaccharides (endotoxins) show strong biological effects at very low concentrations in human beings and many animals when entering the blood stream. These include affecting structure and function of organs and cells, changing metabolic functions, raising body temperature, triggering the coagulation cascade, modifying hemodynamics and causing septic shock. Because of this toxicity, the removal of even minute amounts is essential for safe parenteral administration of drugs and also for septic shock patients' care. The absence of a general method for endotoxin removal from liquid interfaces urgently requires finding new methods and materials to overcome this gap. Nanostructured carbonized plant parts is a promising material that showed good adsorption properties due to its vast pore network and high surface area. The aim of this study was comparative measurement of endotoxin- and blood proteins-related adsorption rate and adsorption capacity for different carboneous materials produced at different temperatures and under different surface modifications. As a main surface modificator, positively cbarged polymer, polyethileneimine (PEl) was used. Activated carbon materials showed good adsorption properties for LPS and some proteins used in the experiments. During the batch experiments, several techniques (dust removal, autoclaving) were used and optimized for improving the material's adsorption behavior. Also, with the results obtained it was possible to differentiate the materials according to their adsorption capacity and kinetic characteristics. Modification of the surface apparently has not affected hemoglobin binding to the adsorbent's surface. Obtained adsorption isotherms can be used as a powerful tool for designing of future column-based setups for blood purification from LPS, which is especially important for septic shock treatment.},

Therefore, tissue engineering developed as a multidisciplinary field of research for autologous in-vitro organs. Such three dimensional tissue constructs request the application of a bioreactor. The UREPLACE bioreactor is used to grow cells on tubular collagen scaffolds OPTIMAIX Sponge 1 with a maximal length of 7 cm, in order to culture in vitro an adequate ureter replacement. With a rotating unit, (urothelial) cells can be placed homogeneously on the inner scaffold surface. Furthermore, a stimulation is combined with this bioreactor resulting in an orientation of muscle cells. These culturing methods request a precise control of several parameters and actuators. A combination of a LabBox and the suitable software LabVision is used to set and conduct parameters like rotation angles, velocities, pressures and other important cell culture values. The bioreactor was tested waterproof successfully. Furthermore, the temperature controlling was adjusted to 37 °C and the CO2 - concentration regulated to 5 \%. Additionally, the pH step responses of several substances showed a perfect functioning of the designed flow chamber. All used software was tested and remained stable for several days.},

  abstract  = {Diese Studie besch{\"a}ftigte sich mit der D{\"a}mpfungswirkung von Schienbeinschonern, wie sie beim Fußball zum Einsatz kommen. Sie wurde mit Hilfe eines Pendelhammers durchgef{\"u}hrt, der verschiedene Aufschlagkr{\"a}fte auf die Schoner erm{\"o}glichte. Dabei wurde deutlich, dass Schienbeinschoner die beste Wirkung bei Maximalkr{\"a}ften unterhalb von 5kN erreichen k{\"o}nnen, dass bei gr{\"o}ßerer Belastung allerdings Verbesserungsbedarf besteht. Hierf{\"u}r konnte, u.a. durch den Einsatz neuer Materialien, ein guter Ansatzpunkt im „ad{\"a}quaten Zusammenspiel von Schale und Polsterung" der Schoner gefunden werden. Die Untersuchung hat weiterhin gezeigt, dass zumindest teilweise eine deutliche Verbesserung der D{\"a}mpfungswirkung der Schienbeinschoner in den letzten Jahren erreicht werden konnte.},

Mit freundlicher Genehmigung des Verlags Zusammenfassung: Auf der Basis von Patientenabfragen mittels Fragebogen zum Schmerzempfinden und zur Einschr{\"a}nkung bei Aktivit{\"a}ten des allt{\"a}glichen Lebens wird die Langzeitwirkung der MBST® KernspinResonanz-Therapie bei Gonarthrose untersucht. An der Studie nahmen 39 Patienten teil, bei denen die Therapie bis zu vier Jahre zur{\"u}ckliegt. Neben einer Gesamtbetrachtung wird der Erfolg auch in Abh{\"a}ngigkeit von Alter, Geschlecht und sportlicher Aktivit{\"a}t analysiert. Insgesamt weist die Studie auf eine anhaltende Verbesserung des Gesundheitszustands mit zum Teil deutlicher Schmerzlinderung auch noch nach vier Jahren hin, jedoch mit einer leichten Schmerzzunahme gegen Ende des Untersuchungszeitraums von vier Jahren. Eine tendenziell positivere Wirkung bei Frauen, {\"a}lteren Menschen oder auch sportlich nicht-aktiven Patienten l{\"a}sst auf eine m{\"o}gliche Beeinflussung des Erfolgs der Therapie durch ({\"U}ber-)Belastung im Alltag schließen. Ein zus{\"a}tzlich positiver Effekt der Therapie auf die Knochendichte ist ebenfalls denkbar, dies bleibt jedoch offen.},

The task of merging several ontologies, covering specific subdomains, into one united ontology has to be solved. Many approaches for ontology integration aim at automating the process of ontology alignment. However, a complete automation is not feasible, and user interaction is always required. Nevertheless, most ontology integration tools offer only very limited support for the interactive part of the integration process. In this paper, we present a novel approach for the interactive integration of ontologies. The result of the ontology integration is incrementally updated after each definition of a correspondence between ontology elements. The user is guided through the ontologies to be integrated. By restricting the possible user actions, the integrity of all defined correspondences is ensured by the tool we developed. We evaluated our tool by integrating different regulations concerning building design.},

Diese abstraktere, funktionale Sichtweise auf ein Geb{\"a}ude ist w{\"a}hrend der fr{\"u}hen Entwurfsphase essentiell, um Struktur und Organisation des gesamten Geb{\"a}udes zu erfassen. Bereits in dieser Phase muss Fachwissen (z. B. rechtliche, {\"o}konomische und technische Bestimmungen) ber{\"u}cksichtigt werden. Im Rahmen des vorliegenden Projekts werden Software-Werkzeuge integriert in industrielle CAD-Systeme entwickelt, die den konzeptuellen Geb{\"a}ude-Entwurf erm{\"o}glichen und diesen gegen Fachwissen pr{\"u}fen. Das Projekt ist in zwei Teile gegliedert. Im Top-Down-Ansatz werden Datenstrukturen und Methoden zur Strukturierung, Repr{\"a}sentation und Evaluation von geb{\"a}udespezifischem Fachwissen erarbeitet. Dieser Teil baut auf den graphbasierten Werkzeugen PROGRES und UPGRADE des Lehrstuhls auf. Der Bottom-Up-Ansatz ist industriell orientiert und hat zum Ziel, das kommerzielle CAD-System ArchiCAD zu erweitern. Hierbei soll der fr{\"u}he, konzeptuelle Geb{\"a}ude-Entwurf in einem CAD-System erm{\"o}glicht werden. Der Entwurf kann dar{\"u}ber hinaus gegen das definierte Fachwissen gepr{\"u}ft werden. Im Rahmen des graphbasierten Top-Down-Ansatzes wurde zun{\"a}chst eine neue Spezifikationsmethode f{\"u}r die Sprache PROGRES entwickelt. Das PROGRES-System erlaubt die Spezifikation von Werkzeugen in deklarativer Form. {\"U}blicherweise wird dom{\"a}nenspezifisches Fachwissen in der PROGRES-Spezifikation codiert, das daraus generierte visuelle Werkzeug stellt dann die entsprechende Funktionalit{\"a}t zur Verf{\"u}gung. Mit dieser Methode sind am Lehrstuhl f{\"u}r Informatik III Werkzeuge f{\"u}r verschie-dene Anwendungsdom{\"a}nen entstanden. In unserem Fall versetzen wir einen Dom{\"a}nen-Experten, z. B. einen erfahrenen Architekten, in die Lage, Fachwissen zur Laufzeit einzugeben, dieses zu evaluieren, abzu{\"a}ndern oder zu erg{\"a}nzen. Im Rahmen der bisherigen Arbeit wurde dazu eine parametrisierte PROGRES-Spezifikation und zwei darauf aufbauende Werkzeuge entwickelt, welche die dynamische Eingabe von geb{\"a}ude-technisch relevantem Fachwissen erlauben und einen graphbasierten, konzeptuellen Geb{\"a}ude-Entwurf erm{\"o}glichen. In diesem konzeptuellen Geb{\"a}ude-Entwurf wird von Raumgr{\"o}ßen und Positionen abstrahiert, um die funktionale Struktur eines Geb{\"a}udes zu beschreiben. Das Fachwissen kann von einem Architekten visuell definiert werden. Es k{\"o}nnen semantische Einheiten, im einfachsten Fall R{\"a}ume, nach verschiedenen Kriterien kategorisiert und klassifiziert werden. Mit Hilfe von Attributen und Relationen k{\"o}nnen die semantischen Einheiten pr{\"a}ziser beschrieben und in Beziehung zueinander gesetzt werden. Die in PROGRES spezifizierten Konsistenz-Analysen erlauben die Pr{\"u}fung eines graphbasierten konzeptuellen Geb{\"a}ude-Entwurfs gegen das dynamisch eingef{\"u}gte Fachwissen. Im zweiten Teil des Forschungsprojekts, dem Bottom-Up-Ansatz, wird das CAD-System ArchiCAD erweitert, um den integrierten konzeptuellen Geb{\"a}ude-Entwurf zu erm{\"o}glichen. Der Architekt erh{\"a}lt dazu neue Entwurfselemente, die Raumobjekte, welche die relevanten semantischen Einheiten w{\"a}hrend der fr{\"u}hen Entwurfsphase repr{\"a}sentieren. Mit Hilfe der Raumobjekte kann der Architekt in ArchiCAD den Grundriss und das Raumprogramm eines Geb{\"a}udes entwerfen, ohne von konstruktiven Details in seiner Kreativit{\"a}t eingeschr{\"a}nkt zu werden. Die Arbeitsweise mit Raumobjekten entspricht dem informellen konzeptuellen Entwurf auf einer Papierskizze und ist daher f{\"u}r den Architekten intuitiv und einfach zu verwenden. Durch die Integration in ArchiCAD ergibt sich eine weitere Unterst{\"u}tzung: Das im Top-Down-Ansatz spezifizierte Fach-wissen wird verwendet, um den konzeptuellen Geb{\"a}ude-Entwurf des Architekten auf Regelverletzungen zu {\"u}berpr{\"u}fen. Entwurfsfehler werden angezeigt. Zum Abschluss des konzeptuellen Geb{\"a}ude-Entwurfs mit Raumobjekten wird durch ein weiteres neu entwickeltes Werkzeug eine initiale Wandstruktur automatisch erzeugt, die als Grundlage f{\"u}r die folgenden konstruktiven Entwurfsphasen dient. These tools consist of three parts: (a) for elaborating specific conceptual knowledge (knowledge engineer), (b) for working out conceptual design results (architect), and (c) automatic consistency analyses which guarantee that design results are consistent with the underlying specific conceptual knowledge. For the realization of such tools we use a machinery based on graph transformations. In a traditional PROGRES tool specification the conceptual knowledge for a class of buildings is hard-wired within the specification. This is not appropriate for the experimentation platform approach we present in this paper, as objects and relations for conceptual knowledge are due to many changes, implied by evaluation of their use and corresponding improvements. Therefore, we introduce a parametric specification method with the following characteristics: (1) The underlying specific knowledge for a class of buildings is not fixed. Instead, it is built up as a data base by using the knowledge tools. (2) The specification for the architect tools also does not incorporate specific conceptual knowledge. (3) An incremental checker guarantees whether a design result is consistent with the current state of the underlying conceptual knowledge (data base).},

The objective is to create modern telecommunications networks based on powerful broadband infrastructures". In doing so, they aim for innovative and investment-friendly concepts. For instance, in a recently published consultation paper on the subject the German regulator BNetzA declared that it will take "greater account of … reducing risks, securing the investment and innovation power, providing planning certainty and transparency - in order to support and advance broadband rollout in Germany". It further states that when regulating wholesale rates it has to be ensured that "… adequate incentives for network rollout are provided on the one hand, while sustainable and fair competition is ensured on the other". Also an EC draft recommendation on regulated network access is about to set new standards for the regulation of next generation access networks. According to the recommendation the prices of new assets shall be based on costs plus a projectspecific risk premium to be included in the costs of capital for the investment risk incurred by the operator. This approach has been criticised from various sides. In particular it has been questioned whether such an approach is adequate to meet the objectives of encouraging both competition and investment into next generation access networks. Against this background, the concept of "long term risk sharing contracts" has been proposed recently as an approach which does not only incorporate the various additional risks involved in the deployment of NGA infrastructure, but has several other advantages. This paper will demonstrate that the concept allows for competition to evolve at both the retail and wholesale level on fair, objective, non-discriminatory and transparent terms and conditions. Moreover, it ensures the highest possible investment incentive in line with socially desirable outcome. The paper is organised as follows: The next section will briefly outline the importance of encouraging competition and investment in an NGA-environment. The third section will specify the design of long term risk sharing contracts in view of achieving these objectives. The fourth section will examine potential problems associated with the concept. In doing so a way of how to deal with them will be elaborated. The last section will look at arguments against long term risk sharing contracts. It will be shown that these arguments are not strong enough to build a case against introducing such contracts.},
