  abstract  = {Als Sohn meines Vaters und Enkelsohn meiner Großeltern war Slowenien immer Bestandteil meiner Sozialisation, ein unsichtbarer Teil, dem ich durch meine Fotografien auf der Reise nach „Bratnice" eine Gestalt gegeben habe. Dabei handelt es sich um ein Dorf, indem meine Familie vor ungef{\"a}hr 35 Jahren eine Holzh{\"u}tte unmittelbar in der N{\"a}he der Geburtsst{\"a}tte meines Großvaters errichtet hat. Ich begann den alten Geschichten Eigene hinzuzuf{\"u}gen, die alten Bilder um neue zu erweitern und Slowenien und die Menschen neu kennenzulernen. Dies heißt auch, mich zum Teil von den Vorstellungen meines Vaters und denen meiner Großeltern loszul{\"o}sen. Meine eigene Auseinandersetzung mit der slowenischen - ehemals sozialistischen - Realit{\"a}t und dem kapitalistisch westlichen System ist eng verkn{\"u}pft mit einer Untersuchung des Begriffs „Status". Wie sind meine slowenischen und deutschen Wurzeln f{\"u}r mich vereinbar? Woher kommt das Streben nach den einschl{\"a}gigen Statussymbolen und sind materielle Vorstellungen immer noch pr{\"a}gend?},

Um diesen mehr Aufmerksamkeit zu schenken und zur Verst{\"a}ndigung verschiedenster Gruppen beizutragen, wurde das Konzept dieser Bachelorarbeit: „BRIDGE: Ein Magazin {\"u}ber Transkulturen in Deutschland" entwickelt, welches sich mit den Schnittstellen der Deutschen und anderen Kulturen auseinandersetzt. Diese Transkulturen sollen jeweils repr{\"a}sentativ und aufkl{\"a}rend dargestellt werden. Jede Ausgabe wird eine dieser Transkulturen portr{\"a}tieren und zeigen, wie diese in Deutschland besteht. F{\"u}r die erste Ausgabe, welche im Rahmen der Bachelorarbeit ausgearbeitet wurde, fiel die Entscheidung auf die Deutsch-Habesha-Kultur, die eine V{\"o}lkergruppe aus {\"A}thiopien und Eritrea darstellt.},

The method is based on an upper bound limit and shakedown analysis with elastic-perfectly plastic material model. A non-linear constrained optimisation problem is solved by using Newton's method in conjunction with a penalty method and the Lagrangean dual method. Numerical investigation of a pipe bend subjected to bending moments proves the effectiveness of the algorithm.},

  abstract  = {[Paper of the X International Symposium on Lightning Protection 9th - 13th November, 2009 - Curitiba, Brazil. 6 pages] The international standard IEC 62305-3, published in 2006, requires as an integral part of the lightning protection system (LPS) the consideration of a separation distance between the conductors of the LPS and metal and electrical installations inside the structure to be protected. IEC 62305-3 gives two different methods for this calculation: a standard, simplified approach and a more detailed approach, which differ especially regarding the treatment of the current sharing effect on the LPS conductors. Hence, different results for the separation distance are possible, leading to some discrepancies in the use of the standard. The standard approach defined in the main part (Clause 6.3) and in Annex C of the standard in some cases may lead to a severe oversizing of the required separation distance. The detailed approach described in Annex E naturally gives more correct results. However, a calculation of the current sharing amongst all parts of the air-termination and downconductor network is necessary, in many cases requiring the use of network analysis programs. In this paper simplified methods for the assessment of the current sharing are presented, which are easy to use as well as sufficiently adequate.},

Das Projekt beweist, dass es m{\"o}glich ist, mit der Software „Blender" einen vollwertigen und hochwertigen 3D-Animationsfilm zu erstellen. Dabei wurden alle Assets bis auf Texturen selbst hergestellt. Die virtuelle Pappe spielt hierbei eine fundamentale Rolle, f{\"u}r diese wurde ein vollkommen neuer Workflow entwickelt, welcher es erm{\"o}glicht, realistische Pappe zu visualisieren. „CardboardCastle" setzt auf eine cinematische Inszenierung von Licht und vereint technisches Wissen mit unterhaltenden Inhalten. Dabei zeigt er die kindliche Vorstellungskraft und l{\"a}dt die Zuschauer ein, sich an ihre eigenen kindlichen Fantasien zu erinnern.},

  abstract  = {Background Aminoacylases are highly promising enzymes for the green synthesis of acyl-amino acids, potentially replacing the environmentally harmful Schotten-Baumann reaction. Long-chain acyl-amino acids can serve as strong surfactants and emulsifiers, with application in cosmetic industries. Heterologous expression of these enzymes, however, is often hampered, limiting their use in industrial processes. Results We identified a novel mycobacterial aminoacylase gene from Mycolicibacterium smegmatis MKD 8, cloned and expressed it in Escherichia coli and Vibrio natriegens using the T7 overexpression system. The recombinant enzyme was prone to aggregate as inclusion bodies, and while V. natriegens Vmax™ could produce soluble aminoacylase upon induction with isopropyl β-d-1-thiogalactopyranoside (IPTG), E. coli BL21 (DE3) needed autoinduction with lactose to produce soluble recombinant protein. We successfully conducted a chaperone co-expression study in both organisms to further enhance aminoacylase production and found that overexpression of chaperones GroEL/S enhanced aminoacylase activity in the cell-free extract 1.8-fold in V. natriegens and E. coli. Eventually, E. coli ArcticExpress™ (DE3), which co-expresses cold-adapted chaperonins Cpn60/10 from Oleispira antarctica, cultivated at 12 °C, rendered the most suitable expression system for this aminoacylase and exhibited twice the aminoacylase activity in the cell-free extract compared to E. coli BL21 (DE3) with GroEL/S co-expression at 20 °C. The purified aminoacylase was characterized based on hydrolytic activities, being most stable and active at pH 7.0, with a maximum activity at 70 °C, and stability at 40 °C and pH 7.0 for 5 days. The aminoacylase strongly prefers short-chain acyl-amino acids with smaller, hydrophobic amino acid residues. Several long-chain amino acids were fairly accepted in hydrolysis as well, especially N-lauroyl-L-methionine. To initially evaluate the relevance of this aminoacylase for the synthesis of N-acyl-amino acids, we demonstrated that lauroyl-methionine can be synthesized from lauric acid and methionine in an aqueous system. Conclusion Our results suggest that the recombinant enzyme is well suited for synthesis reactions and will thus be further investigated.},

Sie beruht dabei vor allem auf das problematische Verst{\"a}ndnis von Sex, das durch verschiedene kulturelle Einfl{\"u}sse vermittelt wird. Um {\"u}ber diese Einfl{\"u}sse aufzukl{\"a}ren, wurde das Format „fuckfulness" konzipiert. Mithilfe von animierten Videos und darauf aufbauendem Social-Media-Content befasst sich „fuckfulness" ausf{\"u}hrlich mit allen Hintergr{\"u}nden der Orgasmusl{\"u}cke und gestaltet sexuelle Aufkl{\"a}rung neu. Durch junge und moderne Kommunikation wird das Projekt auch f{\"u}r eine j{\"u}ngere Zielgruppe unterhaltsam. Ziel ist ein neues Verst{\"a}ndnis von Sex, in dem die Bed{\"u}rfnisse der Frau gleichberechtigt neben denen des Mannes stehen und entsprechende Beachtung finden. So soll die Orgasmusl{\"u}cke schmaler werden, damit die Gleichstellung endlich auch in den eigenen vier W{\"a}nden gelebt werden kann.},

  abstract  = {This paper compares several blade element theory (BET) method-based propeller simulation tools, including an evaluation against static propeller ground tests and high-fidelity Reynolds-Average Navier Stokes (RANS) simulations. Two proprietary propeller geometries for paraglider applications are analysed in static and flight conditions. The RANS simulations are validated with the static test data and used as a reference for comparing the BET in flight conditions. The comparison includes the analysis of varying 2D aerodynamic airfoil parameters and different induced velocity calculation methods. The evaluation of the BET propeller simulation tools shows the strength of the BET tools compared to RANS simulations. The RANS simulations underpredict static experimental data within 10\% relative error, while appropriate BET tools overpredict the RANS results by 15-20\% relative error. A variation in 2D aerodynamic data depicts the need for highly accurate 2D data for accurate BET results. The nonlinear BET coupled with XFOIL for the 2D aerodynamic data matches best with RANS in static operation and flight conditions. The novel BET tool PropCODE combines both approaches and offers further correction models for highly accurate static and flight condition results.},
