Dadurch werden von dargestellten Personen h{\"a}ufig die k{\"o}rperlichen Aspekte hervorgehoben. Im Gegensatz dazu gilt das weibliche Pendant, der „Female Gaze", als besonders emotionsbetont. Weil Medien einen enormen Einfluss auf gesellschaftliches und individuelles Denken haben, stellt die Dominanz des „Male Gaze" eine Unausgeglichenheit dar, die sich in verschiedenen Bereichen des gesellschaftlichen Lebens widerspiegelt. Deswegen m{\"o}chte dieses Projekt die Medien um die weibliche Sichtweise erweitern und damit die dort transportierten Bilder diverser und ausgewogener machen. Die Fotografie fokussiert sich dabei auf die Gef{\"u}hlswelt der Protagonistin, womit die Betrachter:Innen schrittweise in ihre Position hineinversetzt werden sollen. Mit Augen des Mitgef{\"u}hls und eigenem Sch{\"o}nheitsbegriff l{\"a}sst „Falling in love with the female gaze" endlich auch die Frau zu Wort kommen.},

Die Publikation mit dem Titel mikromakro deckt durch verschiedene Artikel, Interviews und Texte die Gefahren auf, die durch den unsichtbaren M{\"u}ll entstehen. Ziel war es, eine Bookazine-Reihe zu konzipieren, die in sechs Ausgaben das Thema des unsichtbaren M{\"u}lls beleuchtet. Die erste Ausgabe zum Thema Kunststoff wurde exemplarisch gestaltet. Zus{\"a}tzlich zum redaktionellen Teil untermauern Infografiken die Texte faktisch und Fotoserien emotional. Da unsichtbarer M{\"u}ll auf zwei Ebenen zu finden ist - der Makro- (groß) und Mikroebene (klein) - wurde die Publikation inhaltlich zweigeteilt, sodass sich das Layout und die Fotoserien vom Mikro- und Makroteil unterscheiden. },

  abstract  = {Dual frequency magnetic excitation of magnetic nanoparticles (MNP) enables enhanced biosensing applications. This was studied from an experimental and theoretical perspective: nonlinear sum-frequency components of MNP exposed to dual-frequency magnetic excitation were measured as a function of static magnetic offset field. The Langevin model in thermodynamic equilibrium was fitted to the experimental data to derive parameters of the lognormal core size distribution. These parameters were subsequently used as inputs for micromagnetic Monte-Carlo (MC)-simulations. From the hysteresis loops obtained from MC-simulations, sum-frequency components were numerically demodulated and compared with both experiment and Langevin model predictions. From the latter, we derived that approximately 90\% of the frequency mixing magnetic response signal is generated by the largest 10\% of MNP. We therefore suggest that small particles do not contribute to the frequency mixing signal, which is supported by MC-simulation results. Both theoretical approaches describe the experimental signal shapes well, but with notable differences between experiment and micromagnetic simulations. These deviations could result from Brownian relaxations which are, albeit experimentally inhibited, included in MC-simulation, or (yet unconsidered) cluster-effects of MNP, or inaccurately derived input for MC-simulations, because the largest particles dominate the experimental signal but concurrently do not fulfill the precondition of thermodynamic equilibrium required by Langevin theory.},

Gerade in Zeiten der Pandemie verliert man oft den Blick f{\"u}r das Sch{\"o}ne im Leben. Der Fotoband „UKIYO" soll dazu anregen, allt{\"a}gliche Dinge aus einem neuen Blickwinkel zu betrachten und die Sch{\"o}nheit im Verg{\"a}nglichen zu erkennen. Die Fotografien sind inspiriert durch das japanische Kunstgenre Ukiyo-e, was w{\"o}rtlich {\"u}bersetzt etwa „Bilder der heiteren, fließenden Welt" heißt. Die Gestaltung des Bildbandes orientiert sich an verschiedenen japanischen Stilmitteln, wie zum Beispiel Wabi-Sabi (die Sch{\"o}nheit im Unvollkommenen) und Mono no aware (eine melancholische Mischung aus Freude, Trauer und Hinnahme). „UKIYO" nimmt die Betrachter mit auf eine kleine Reise durch die fließende Welt. },

  abstract  = {In this work, we present a compact, bifunctional chip-based sensor setup that measures the temperature and electrical conductivity of water samples, including specimens from rivers and channels, aquaculture, and the Atlantic Ocean. For conductivity measurements, we utilize the impedance amplitude recorded via interdigitated electrode structures at a single triggering frequency. The results are well in line with data obtained using a calibrated reference instrument. The new setup holds for conductivity values spanning almost two orders of magnitude (river versus ocean water) without the need for equivalent circuit modelling. Temperature measurements were performed in four-point geometry with an on-chip platinum RTD (resistance temperature detector) in the temperature range between 2 °C and 40 °C, showing no hysteresis effects between warming and cooling cycles. Although the meander was not shielded against the liquid, the temperature calibration provided equivalent results to low conductive Milli-Q and highly conductive ocean water. The sensor is therefore suitable for inline and online monitoring purposes in recirculating aquaculture systems.},

  abstract  = {What does the word 'home' means and at what age do we give it meaning? Many of us grew up in one, in a home that our parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and relatives shaped. Who, as we grew up, taught us about the world from their perspective as we interpreted and saw it for the first time and with it, its colors, its smells, its tastes, its sounds, its dances, and its languages. When we migrate, we take all that with us, like a piece of luggage that was stored in some corner inside a lung, or inside the memory in a heart's artery. And then you arrive in this new world, which we were told was the Old World, with other colors, other flavors, other words, in which yours no longer make sense. And you try to connect with all your senses, but, above all, we try to belong, because we belonged all our lives to something, to someone, to some place where we learned to be. When we migrate, without saying, we go through the grieve that comes with the beautiful discomfort of leaving everything we once knew. We mourn, because we can't go to lunch at our grandmas on Sundays, or have mom bring us soup when we are sick, or the Christmas meals and celebrations that we like so much, or that special dish that was made for us on our birthdays or on a family BBQ on a Sunday or a holiday. I wonder if emotions come inside us through the taste and respiratory track, if it is that we breathe life, and with that what we love finds its ways inside and finds its corner somewhere in the body. If what we have loved and what we have lived hides somewhere in our body, I doubtlessly think it came in through one of our senses, and in this attempt at my first illustrated book I'll share which, I think, are the senses through which at first instance part of what we perceive as cultural identity enters.},
