The potential distribution generated by the catalytic metals integrated into a semiconductor field-effect structure was read as a photocurrent signal generated by scanning light pulses. The impact of the proposed technology spread beyond gas sensing, inspiring the development of various imaging modalities based on the light addressing of field-effect structures to obtain spatial maps of pH distribution, ions, molecules, and impedance, and these modalities have been applied in both biological and non-biological systems. These light-addressing technologies have been further developed to realize the position control of a faradaic current on the electrode surface for localized electrochemical reactions and amperometric measurements, as well as the actuation of liquids in microfluidic devices.}, language = {en} } @article{WeldenJablonskiWegeetal.2021, author = {Welden, Rene and Jablonski, Melanie and Wege, Christina and Keusgen, Michael and Wagner, Patrick Hermann and Wagner, Torsten and Sch{\"o}ning, Michael Josef}, title = {Light-Addressable Actuator-Sensor Platform for Monitoring and Manipulation of pH Gradients in Microfluidics: A Case Study with the Enzyme Penicillinase}, series = {Biosensors}, volume = {11}, journal = {Biosensors}, number = {6}, publisher = {MDPI}, address = {Basel}, issn = {2079-6374}, doi = {10.3390/bios11060171}, pages = {Artikel 171}, year = {2021}, abstract = {The feasibility of light-addressed detection and manipulation of pH gradients inside an electrochemical microfluidic cell was studied. Local pH changes, induced by a light-addressable electrode (LAE), were detected using a light-addressable potentiometric sensor (LAPS) with different measurement modes representing an actuator-sensor system. Biosensor functionality was examined depending on locally induced pH gradients with the help of the model enzyme penicillinase, which had been immobilized in the microfluidic channel. The surface morphology of the LAE and enzyme-functionalized LAPS was studied by scanning electron microscopy. Furthermore, the penicillin sensitivity of the LAPS inside the microfluidic channel was determined with regard to the analyte's pH influence on the enzymatic reaction rate. In a final experiment, the LAE-controlled pH inhibition of the enzyme activity was monitored by the LAPS.}, language = {en} } @misc{DieringerRenzLindeletal.2010, author = {Dieringer, Matthias A. and Renz, Wolfgang and Lindel, Tomasz and Seifert, Frank and Frauenrath, Tobias and Waiczies, Helmar and von Knobelsdorff-Brenkhoff, Florian and Santoro, Davide and Hoffmann, Werner and Ittermann, Bernd and Schulz-Menger, Jeanette and Niendorf, Thoralf}, title = {4CH TX/RX Surface Coil for 7T: Design, Optimization and Application for Cardiac Function Imaging}, series = {2010 ISMRM-ESMRMB joint annual meeting}, journal = {2010 ISMRM-ESMRMB joint annual meeting}, issn = {1545-4428}, year = {2010}, abstract = {Practical impediments of ultra high field cardiovascular MR (CVMR) can be catalogued in exacerbated magnetic field and radio frequency (RF) inhomogeneities, susceptibility and off-resonance effects, conductive and dielectric effects in tissue, and RF power deposition constraints, which all bear the potential to spoil the benefit of CVMR at 7T. It is now well documented that the task of testing software, for example, is perceived as uninteresting and rather boring, leading to poor software quality and major challenges to software development companies. One promising approach to increase the motivation for considering software quality is the use of gamification. Initial research works already investigated the effects of gamification on software developers and come to promising. Nevertheless, a lack of results from field experiments exists, which motivates the chapter at hand. By conducting a gamification experiment with five student software projects and by interviewing the project members, the chapter provides insights into the changing programming behavior of information systems students when confronted with a leaderboard. The results reveal a motivational effect as well as a reduction of code smells.}, language = {en} } @misc{SchmitzSchebitzEsch1997, author = {Schmitz, G{\"u}nter and Schebitz, Michael and Esch, Thomas}, title = {Aus der Ruhelage selbstanziehender elektromagnetischer Aktuator}, year = {1997}, abstract = {Elektromagnetischer Aktuator zur Bet{\"a}tigung eines Stellgliedes (2), mit wenigstens einem Elektromagneten (4) und einem mit dem Stellglied (2) verbundenen Anker (3), der gegen die Kraft einer R{\"u}ckstellfeder (6) aus seiner Ruhelage in Richtung auf den Elektromagneten (4) bewegbar ist, mit einer R{\"u}ckstellfeder (6), die eine nicht lineare, bezogen auf die Ruhelage des Ankers (3) progressiv ansteigende Kennlinie aufweist.}, language = {de} } @inproceedings{AdomeitWillms1984, author = {Adomeit, G. and Willms, Herbert}, title = {Experimental investigation of the acceleration of deflagration in wake flow}, series = {Safety of thermal water reactors : proceedings of a Seminar on the Results of the European Communities' Indirect Action Research Programme on Safety of Thermal Water Reactors, held in Brussels, 1-3 October 1984 / Commission of the European Communities}, booktitle = {Safety of thermal water reactors : proceedings of a Seminar on the Results of the European Communities' Indirect Action Research Programme on Safety of Thermal Water Reactors, held in Brussels, 1-3 October 1984 / Commission of the European Communities}, editor = {Skupinski, Edwin}, publisher = {Graham \& Trotman [u.a.]}, address = {London Gaithersburg, Md.}, isbn = {0-86010-678-0}, pages = {294 -- 304}, year = {1984}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{SchmiegelKochDittmeretal.2010, author = {Schmiegel, A. and Koch, K. and Dittmer, M. and Braun, M. and Landau, M. and Dick, C. and Bragard, Michael and [u.a.],}, title = {Das Sol-ion System : ein System zur Optimierung des Eigenverbrauchs von PV-Strom}, series = {Photovoltaische Solarenergie : 25.
