  abstract  = {The simultaneous assessment of glottal dynamics and larynx position can be beneficial for the diagnosis of disordered voice or speech production and swallowing. Up to now, methods either concentrate on assessment of the glottis opening using optical, acoustical or electrical (electroglottography, EGG) methods, or on visualisation of the larynx position using ultrasound, computer tomography or magnetic resonance imaging techniques. The method presented here makes use of a time-multiplex measurement approach of space-resolved transfer impedances through the larynx. The fast sequence of measurements allows a quasi simultaneous assessment of both larynx position and EGG signal using up to 32 transmit-receive signal paths. The system assesses the dynamic opening status of the glottis as well as the vertical and back/forward motion of the larynx. Two electrode-arrays are used for the measurement of the electrical transfer impedance through the neck in different directions. From the acquired data the global and individual conductivity is calculated as well as a 2D point spatial representation of the minimum impedance. The position information is shown together with classical EGG signals allowing a synchronous visual assessment of glottal area and larynx position. A first application to singing voice analysis is presented that indicate a high potential of the method for use as a non-invasive tool in the diagnosis of voice, speech, and swallowing disorders.},

Different concentrated iron(III)-nitrate solutions of natural isotopic distribution were irradiated at varying initial pressures and subsequently separated by solid phase extraction chromatography. The radio cobalt (58m/gCo and 56Co) was successfully produced with saturation activities of (0.35 ± 0.03) MBq μA-1 for 58mCo with a separation recovery of (75 ± 2) \% of cobalt after one separation step utilizing LN-resin.},

  abstract  = {Drought and water shortage are serious problems in many arid and semi-arid regions. This problem is getting worse and even continues in temperate climatic regions due to climate change. To address this problem, the use of biodegradable hydrogels is increasingly important for the application as water-retaining additives in soil. Furthermore, efficient (micro-)nutrient supply can be provided by the use of tailored hydrogels. Biodegradable polyaspartic acid (PASP) hydrogels with different available (1,6-hexamethylene diamine (HMD) and L-lysine (LYS)) and newly developed crosslinkers based on diesters of glycine (GLY) and (di-)ethylene glycol (DEG and EG, respectively) were synthesized and characterized using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and regarding their swelling properties (kinetic, absorbency under load (AUL)) as well as biodegradability of PASP hydrogel. Copper (II) and zinc (II), respectively, were loaded as micronutrients in two different approaches: in situ with crosslinking and subsequent loading of prepared hydrogels. The results showed successful syntheses of di-glycine-ester-based crosslinkers. Hydrogels with good water-absorbing properties were formed. Moreover, the developed crosslinking agents in combination with the specific reaction conditions resulted in higher water absorbency with increased crosslinker content used in synthesis (10\% vs. 20\%). The prepared hydrogels are candidates for water-storing soil additives due to the biodegradability of PASP, which is shown in an exemple. The incorporation of Cu(II) and Zn(II) ions can provide these micronutrients for plant growth.},

  abstract  = {Der zunehmende Bedarf an fossilen Rohstoffen bei gleichzeitig abnehmender Versorgungssicherheit f{\"u}hrt zu einer intensiven Suche nach erneuerbaren Ressourcen. Ein vielversprechendes Ausgangsmaterial mit einer weltweiten Verf{\"u}gbarkeit stellt Gras dar. In 2012 wurden in Deutschland 33 Millionen Tonnen (Heugewicht) Gras auf 4,82 Millionen Hektar Ackerland produziert, davon wurden 60,5 \% siliert. Durch die Silierung kann Gras als Substrat zeitlich uneingeschr{\"a}nkt verf{\"u}gbar sein, ohne dem Risiko des schnellen Verderbs ausgesetzt zu sein. Eine Schl{\"u}sselrolle im Rahmen des Silierprozesses nimmt die Produktion von Milchs{\"a}ure ein. Milchs{\"a}ure ist einbedeutendes biotechnologisches Produkt f{\"u}r die Lebensmittel- und die chemische Industrie. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wird die vollst{\"a}ndige Umwandlung der fermentierbaren Zucker in der Silage zu Milchs{\"a}ure angestrebt, um die maximale Ausbeute der organischen S{\"a}ure zu erreichen. Im ersten Verfahrensschritt wird die Silage gepresst und der erhaltene Presskuchen einer Liquid-Hot-Water-Behandlung unterzogen. Durch diese einfache Vorbehandlung k{\"o}nnen hohe Glucoseausbeuten im nachfolgenden SSF-Schritt bei gleichzeitig geringem Enzymeinsatz und Chemikalienverbrauch realisiert werden. Zur Aufreinigung der Milchs{\"a}ure wurden extraktive und chromatographische Methoden untersucht.},

  abstract  = {Glucose ist ein prim{\"a}res Zwischenprodukt der Verarbeitung nachwachsender Rohstoffe, wie z. B. Cellulose. Die wertsteigernde Weiterverarbeitung des Monosaccharids erfolgt h{\"a}ufig in Form vonFermentationsprozessen, jedoch kann der Rohstoff auch f{\"u}r zahlreiche chemische Verarbeitungsstufen genutzt werden. Ein großtechnisch relevanter Prozess ist die Herstellung von Glucons{\"a}ure (GS), die u. a. als Nahrungsmittelzusatz (E 574) eingesetzt wird. Die Darstellung der S{\"a}ure erfolgt durch Oxidation von Glucose mit magnetisierbarem Gold-Nano-Katalysator. Die R{\"u}ckgewinnung des Katalysators aus der Reaktionsl{\"o}sung wurde unter Einwirkung eines Magnetfeldgradienten verwirklicht. Die Synthese der magnetischen Goldkatalysatoren (sowohl Tr{\"a}gerpartikel als auch Gold-Nanopartikel) wurde durch nass-chemische F{\"a}llungsreaktionen durchgef{\"u}hrt. Die Charakteristiken der neuen Materialen konnte durch Messungen des PCD-Potenzials, Laserbeugung und REM/EDX untersucht werden. So wurden u. a. Partikeldurchmesser von 25 lm und ein Goldgehaltvon 1,03 \% ermittelt. Weiterhin wurden f{\"u}r die Goldkatalysatoren optimale Reaktionsbedingungen f{\"u}r die Glucoseoxidation im geregelten R{\"u}hrkesselreaktor etabliert. Hierdurch konnten eine Produktselektivit{\"a}t von 100 \% und eine Wiederverwendbarkeit der Partikel {\"u}ber mindestens zehn Zyklen erreicht werden.},

Im Rahmen dieses Kurzbeitrags wird das Projekt WiLMo - "Wirtschaftsinformatik Lehr- und Lernmodule" vorgestellt. WiLMo wird im Rahmen von OERContent.nrw unter Beteiligung von sechs Hochschulen entwickelt und gef{\"o}rdert.   abstract  = {Biofuels potentially interesting also for aviation purposes are predominantly liquid fuels produced from biomass. The most common biofuels today are biodiesel and bioethanol. Since diesel engines are rather rare in aviation this survey is focusing on ethanol admixed to gasoline products. The Directive 2003/30/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of May 8th 2003 on the promotion of the use of biofuels or other renewable fuels for transport encourage a growing admixture of biogenic fuel components to fossil automotive gasoline. Some aircraft models equipped with spark ignited piston engines are approved for operation with automotive gasoline, frequently called "MOGAS" (motor gasoline). The majority of those approvals is limited to MOGAS compositions that do not contain methanol or ethanol beyond negligible amounts. In the past years (bio-)MTBE or (bio-)ETBE have been widely used as blending component of automotive gasoline whilst the usage of low-molecular alcohols like methanol or ethanol has been avoided due to the handling problems especially with regard to the strong affinity for water. With rising mandatory bio-admixtures the conversion of the basic biogenic ethanol to ETBE, causing a reduction of energetic payoff, becomes more and more unattractive. Therefore the direct ethanol admixture is accordingly favoured. Due to the national enforcements of the directive 2003/30/EC more oxygenates produced from organic materials like bioethanol have started to appear in automotive gasolines already. The current fuel specification EN 228 already allows up to 3 \% volume per volume (v/v) (bio-)methanol or up to 5 \% v/v (bio-)ethanol as fuel components. This is also roughly the amount of biogenic components to comply with the legal requirements to avoid monetary penalties for producers and distributors of fuels. Since automotive fuel is cheaper than the common aviation gasoline (AVGAS), creates less problems with lead deposits in the engine, and in general produces less pollutants it is strongly favoured by pilots. But being designed for a different set of usage scenarios the use of automotive fuel with low molecular alcohols for aircraft operation may have adverse effects in aviation operation. Increasing amounts of ethanol admixtures impose various changes in the gasoline's chemical and physical properties, some of them rather unexpected and not within the range of flight experiences even of long-term pilots.},

  abstract  = {The industrial revolution IR4.0 era have driven many states of the art technologies to be introduced especially in the automotive industry. The rapid development of automotive industries in Europe have created wide industry gap between European Union (EU) and developing countries such as in South-East Asia (SEA). Indulging this situation, FH Joanneum, Austria together with European partners from FH Aachen, Germany and Politecnico Di Torino, Italy is taking initiative to close the gap utilizing the Erasmus+ United grant from EU. A consortium was founded to engage with automotive technology transfer using the European ramework to Malaysian, Indonesian and Thailand Higher Education Institutions (HEI) as well as automotive industries. This could be achieved by establishing Engineering Knowledge Transfer Unit (EKTU) in respective SEA institutions guided by the industry partners in their respective countries. This EKTU could offer updated, innovative, and high-quality training courses to increase graduate's employability in higher education institutions and strengthen relations between HEI and the wider economic and social environment by addressing Universityindustry cooperation which is the regional priority for Asia. It is expected that, the Capacity Building Initiative would improve the quality of higher education and enhancing its relevance for the labor market and society in the SEA partners. The outcome of this project would greatly benefit the partners in strong and complementary partnership targeting the automotive industry and enhanced larger scale international cooperation between the European and SEA partners. It would also prepare the SEA HEI in sustainable partnership with Automotive industry in the region as a mean of income generation in the future.},

This approach is incorporated into a flipped-classroom concept, as well as classical teaching concepts, offering students practical experience in control engineering. In addition, the design of the pendulum is shown, using a Raspberry Pi as the target platform for Matlab Simulink. This pendulum can be used in the classroom to evaluate the controller design mentioned above. It is analysed if the use of the pendulum generates a deeper understanding of the learning contents.},

Recent developments of CMR at 7.0 T have been driven by pioneering explorations into novel multichannel transmit and receive coil array technology to tackle the challenges B1+-field inhomogeneities, to offset specific-absorption rate (SAR) constraints and to reduce banding artifacts in SSFP imaging. For this study, recognition of the benefits and performance of local surface Tx/Rx-array structures recently established at 7.0 T inspired migration to 3.0 T, where RF inhomogeneities and SAR limitations encountered in routine clinical CMR, though somewhat reduced versus the 7.0 T situation, remain significant. For all these reasons, this study was designed to build and examine the feasibility of a local four channel Tx/Rx cardiac coil array for anatomical and functional cardiac imaging at 3.0 T. For comparison, a homebuilt 4 channel Rx cardiac coil array exhibiting the same geometry as the Tx/Rx coil and a Rx surface coil array were used.},

  abstract  = {Like all preceding transformations of the manufacturing industry, the large-scale usage of production data will reshape the role of humans within the sociotechnical production ecosystem. To ensure that this transformation creates work systems in which employees are empowered, productive, healthy, and motivated, the transformation must be guided by principles of and research on human-centered work design. Specifically, measures must be taken at all levels of work design, ranging from (1) the work tasks to (2) the working conditions to (3) the organizational level and (4) the supra-organizational level. We present selected research across all four levels that showcase the opportunities and requirements that surface when striving for human-centered work design for the Internet of Production (IoP). (1) On the work task level, we illustrate the user-centered design of human-robot collaboration (HRC) and process planning in the composite industry as well as user-centered design factors for cognitive assistance systems. (2) On the working conditions level, we present a newly developed framework for the classification of HRC workplaces. (3) Moving to the organizational level, we show how corporate data can be used to facilitate best practice sharing in production networks, and we discuss the implications of the IoP for new leadership models. Finally, (4) on the supra-organizational level, we examine overarching ethical dimensions, investigating, e.g., how the new work contexts affect our understanding of responsibility and normative values such as autonomy and privacy. Overall, these interdisciplinary research perspectives highlight the importance and necessary scope of considering the human factor in the IoP.},

  abstract  = {After a brief introduction of conventional laboratory structures, this work focuses on an innovative and universal approach for a setup of a training laboratory for electric machines and drive systems. The novel approach employs a central 48 V DC bus, which forms the backbone of the structure. Several sets of DC machine, asynchronous machine and synchronous machine are connected to this bus. The advantages of the novel system structure are manifold, both from a didactic and a technical point of view: Student groups can work on their own performance level in a highly parallelized and at the same time individualized way. Additional training setups (similar or different) can easily be added. Only the total power dissipation has to be provided, i.e. the DC bus balances the power flow between the student groups. Comparative results of course evaluations of several cohorts of students are shown.},

Since knowledge can be both tacit and explicit, its transfer from the individual to the organizational knowledge base poses a challenge in organizations. This challenge increases when the fluctuation of knowledge carriers is exceptionally high. Especially in large projects in which external consultants are involved, there is a risk that critical, company-relevant knowledge generated in the project will leave the company with the external knowledge carrier and thus be lost. In this paper, we show the advantages of an early warning system for knowledge management to avoid this loss. In particular, the potential of visual analytics in the context of knowledge management systems is presented and discussed. We present a project for the development of a business-critical software system and discuss the first implementations and results.},

  abstract  = {When confining pressure is low or absent, extensional fractures are typical, with fractures occurring on unloaded planes in rock. These "paradox" fractures can be explained by a phenomenological extension strain failure criterion. In the past, a simple empirical criterion for fracture initiation in brittle rock has been developed. But this criterion makes unrealistic strength predictions in biaxial compression and tension. A new extension strain criterion overcomes this limitation by adding a weighted principal shear component. The weight is chosen, such that the enriched extension strain criterion represents the same failure surface as the Mohr-Coulomb (MC) criterion. Thus, the MC criterion has been derived as an extension strain criterion predicting failure modes, which are unexpected in the understanding of the failure of cohesive-frictional materials. In progressive damage of rock, the most likely fracture direction is orthogonal to the maximum extension strain. The enriched extension strain criterion is proposed as a threshold surface for crack initiation CI and crack damage CD and as a failure surface at peak P. Examples show that the enriched extension strain criterion predicts much lower volumes of damaged rock mass compared to the simple extension strain criterion.},

To meet this challenge, this study proposes an acoustic gating device (ACG) that employs acquisition and processing of acoustic signals for synchronization while providing MRI compatibility, immunity to interferences with electro-magnetic and acoustic fields and suitability for MRI at high magnetic field strengths. The applicability and robustness of the acoustic gating approach is examined in a pilot study, where it substitutes conventional ECG-gating for cardiovascular MR.   abstract  = {In this paper the way to a 5-day-car with respect to a modular valve train systems for spark ignited combustion engines is shown. The necessary product diversity is shift from mechanical or physical components to software components. Therefore, significant improvements of logistic indicators are expected and shown. The working principle of a camless cylinder head with respect to an electromagnetical valve train (EMVT) is explained and it is demonstrated that shifting physical diversity to software is feasible. The future design of combustion engine systems including customisation can be supported by a set of assistance tools which is shown exemplary.},

  abstract  = {We present new numerical results for shape optimization problems of interior Neumann eigenvalues. This field is not well understood from a theoretical standpoint. The existence of shape maximizers is not proven beyond the first two eigenvalues, so we study the problem numerically. We describe a method to compute the eigenvalues for a given shape that combines the boundary element method with an algorithm for nonlinear eigenvalues. As numerical optimization requires many such evaluations, we put a focus on the efficiency of the method and the implemented routine. The method is well suited for parallelization. Using the resulting fast routines and a specialized parametrization of the shapes, we found improved maxima for several eigenvalues.},

  abstract  = {The downsizing of spark ignition engines in conjunction with turbocharging is considered to be a promising method for reducing CO₂ emissions. Using this concept, FEV has developed a new, highly efficient drivetrain to demonstrate fuel consumption reduction and drivability in a vehicle based on the Ford Focus ST. The newly designed 1.8L turbocharged gasoline engine incorporates infinitely variable intake and outlet control timing and direct fuel injection utilizing piezo injectors centrally located. In addition, this engine uses a prototype FEV engine control system, with software that was developed and adapted entirely by FEV. The vehicle features a 160 kW engine with a maximum mean effective pressure of 22.4 bar and 34 \% savings in simulated fuel consumption. During the first stage, a new electrohydraulically actuated hybrid transmission with seven forward gears and one reverse gear and a single dry starting clutch will be integrated. The electric motor of the hybrid is directly connected to the gear set of the transmission. Utilizing the special gear set layout, the electric motor can provide boost during a change of gears, so that there is no interruption in traction. Therefore, the transmission system combines the advantages of a double clutch controlled gear change (gear change without an interruption in traction) with the efficient, cost-effective design of an automated manual transmission system. Additionally, the transmission provides a purely electric drive system and the operation of an air-conditioning compressor during the engine stop phases. One other alternative is through the use of CAI (Controlled Auto Ignition), which incorporates a process developed by FEV for controlled compression ignition.},

F{\"u}r die beschriebenen Experimente wird durch das Organosolv-Verfahren aufgeschlossenes Buchenholz verwendet. Der Faserstoff wird mithilfe von CTec2-Enzymen hydrolysiert, wobei der erhaltene {\"U}berstand eine Glucosekonzentration von 66 g L⁻¹ aufweist. Auf der Basis dieses Materials k{\"o}nnen mit Clostridium acetobutylicum Butanol-Ausbeuten erzielt werden, die mit denen unter Verwendung von reinen Zuckern vergleichbar sind. Dem Problem der hohen Produktinhibierung wird mit einer In-situ-Produktaufarbeitung begegnet. Mithilfe von L{\"o}sungsmittelimpr{\"a}gnierten Partikeln (SIPs) kann die Produktausbeute drastisch gesteigert werden, indem die gebildeten L{\"o}sungsmittel durch das auf dem Partikel impr{\"a}gnierte L{\"o}sungsmittel w{\"a}hrend der Fermentation extrahiert werden. Zudem wird hierdurch die weitere Produktaufarbeitungstark vereinfacht.},

  abstract  = {This publication is intended to present the current state of research on the rebound effect. First, a systematic literature review is carried out to outline (current) scientific models and theories. Research Question 1 follows with a mathematical introduction of the rebound effect, which shows the interdependence of consumer behaviour, technological progress, and interwoven effects for both. Thereupon, the research field is analysed for gaps and limitations by a systematic literature review. To ensure quantitative and qualitative results, a review protocol is used that integrates two different stages and covers all relevant publications released between 2000 and 2019. Accordingly, 392 publications were identified that deal with the rebound effect. These papers were reviewed to obtain relevant information on the two research questions. The literature review shows that research on the rebound effect is not yet comprehensive and focuses mainly on the effect itself rather than solutions to avoid it. Research Question 2 finds that the main gap, and thus the limitations, is that not much research has been published on the actual avoidance of the rebound effect yet. This is a major limitation for practical application by decision-makers and politicians. Therefore, a theoretical analysis was carried out to identify potential theories and ideas to avoid the rebound effect. The most obvious idea to solve this problem is the theory of a Steady-State Economy (SSE), which has been described and reviewed.},

  abstract  = {With proven impact of statistical fracture analysis on fracture classifications, it is desirable to minimize the manual work and to maximize repeatability of this approach. We address this with an algorithm that reduces the manual effort to segmentation, fragment identification and reduction. The fracture edge detection and heat map generation are performed automatically. With the same input, the algorithm always delivers the same output. The tool transforms one intact template consecutively onto each fractured specimen by linear least square optimization, detects the fragment edges in the template and then superimposes them to generate a fracture probability heat map. We hypothesized that the algorithm runs faster than the manual evaluation and with low (< 5 mm) deviation. We tested the hypothesis in 10 fractured proximal humeri and found that it performs with good accuracy (2.5 mm ± 2.4 mm averaged Euclidean distance) and speed (23 times faster). When applied to a distal humerus, a tibia plateau, and a scaphoid fracture, the run times were low (1-2 min), and the detected edges correct by visual judgement. In the geometrically complex acetabulum, at a run time of 78 min some outliers were considered acceptable. An automatically generated fracture probability heat map based on 50 proximal humerus fractures matches the areas of high risk of fracture reported in medical literature. Such automation of the fracture analysis method is advantageous and could be extended to reduce the manual effort even further.},

  abstract  = {The successful implementation and continuous development of sustainable corporate-level solutions is a challenge. These are endeavours in which social, environmental, and financial aspects must be weighed against each other. They can prove difficult to handle and, in some cases, almost unrealistic. Concepts such as green controlling, IT, and manufacturing look promising and are constantly evolving. This paper aims to achieve a better understanding of the field of corporate sustainability (CS). It will evaluate the hypothesis by which Corporate Sustainability thrives, via being efficient, increasing the performance, and raising the value of the input of the enterprises to the resources used. In fact, Corporate Sustainability on the surface could seem to contradict the idea, which supports the understanding that it encourages the reduction of the heavy reliance on the use of natural resources, the overall environmental impact, and above all, their protection. To understand how the contradictory notion of CS came about, in this part of the paper, the emphasis is placed on providing useful insight to this regard. The first part of this paper summarizes various definitions, organizational theories, and measures used for CS and its derivatives like green controlling, IT, and manufacturing. Second, a case study is given that combines the aforementioned sustainability models. In addition to evaluating the hypothesis, the overarching objective of this paper is to demonstrate the use of green controlling, IT, and manufacturing in the corporate sector. Furthermore, this paper outlines the current challenges and possible directions for CS in the future.},

  abstract  = {Frequency mixing magnetic detection (FMMD) is a sensitive and selective technique to detect magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) serving as probes for binding biological targets. Its principle relies on the nonlinear magnetic relaxation dynamics of a particle ensemble interacting with a dual frequency external magnetic field. In order to increase its sensitivity, lower its limit of detection and overall improve its applicability in biosensing, matching combinations of external field parameters and internal particle properties are being sought to advance FMMD. In this study, we systematically probe the aforementioned interaction with coupled N{\´e}el-Brownian dynamic relaxation simulations to examine how key MNP properties as well as applied field parameters affect the frequency mixing signal generation. It is found that the core size of MNPs dominates their nonlinear magnetic response, with the strongest contributions from the largest particles. The drive field amplitude dominates the shape of the field-dependent response, whereas effective anisotropy and hydrodynamic size of the particles only weakly influence the signal generation in FMMD. For tailoring the MNP properties and parameters of the setup towards optimal FMMD signal generation, our findings suggest choosing large particles of core sizes dc > 25 nm nm with narrow size distributions (σ < 0.1) to minimize the required drive field amplitude. This allows potential improvements of FMMD as a stand-alone application, as well as advances in magnetic particle imaging, hyperthermia and magnetic immunoassays.},

  abstract  = {Molke f{\"a}llt im Rahmen der K{\"a}seherstellung allein in Deutschland in Mengen von {\"u}ber 11 Mio. Tonnen j{\"a}hrlich an. Dieses Nebenprodukt wurde trotz seines Reichtums an Milchzucker und Proteinen lange Zeit kaum industriell weiterverarbeitet und stellte ein bedeutendes Problem bei der Abwasserreinigung dar. Derzeit kommen meist kosten- und reinigungsintensive Membranfiltrationsverfahren bei der Auftrennung von Molke in ihre Hauptkomponenten Lactose und Molkenprotein zum Einsatz. Die Produkte finden vorwiegend in der Nahrungsmittelindustrie Anwendung als S{\"u}ßungsmittel, Proteinzusatz oder Texturbildner. Die Mehrheit des Proteins wird dabei als Konzentrat bzw. Proteinpulver verarbeitet. Wegen der antibakteriellen, antiviralen und weiteren wertvollen physiologischen Eigenschaften der Molkeproteine stellt eine weitere Aufreinigung der einzelnen Molkeproteine f{\"u}r die pharmazeutische Industrie einen naheliegenden zus{\"a}tzlichen Wertsch{\"o}pfungsschritt dar. In Kooperation mit der S{\"u}d Chemie AG wurde damit begonnen, ein Verfahren zu entwickeln, das kosteng{\"u}nstige mineralische Adsorbentien verwendet. Bisher konnte die Abtrennung von Lactose von den Molkenproteinen aus verd{\"u}nntem Molkekonzentrat in einem Verfahrensschritt ohne Vorbehandlung des Rohstoffs erfolgreich realisiert werden. Aktuelle Arbeiten besch{\"a}ftigen sich mit der Verbesserung der Proteinbindekapazit{\"a}tund chromatographischen Proteinauftrennung sowie dem Upscaling zum direkten Einsatz von Molkekonzentrat ohne Vorverd{\"u}nnung.},

Die Gruppe der Polyphenole ist dabei f{\"u}r mehrere Industriezweige bedeutend. Ihre antioxidativen Eigenschaften sind z. B. f{\"u}r die Pharmaindustrie interessant. Im derzeit bearbeiteten Projekt sollen Polyphenole aus Pflanzenbestandteilen isoliert und aufgereinigt werden, um sie dann als Komponenten f{\"u}r eine Vernetzung von Polymeren auf der Basis von Fetts{\"a}uren einzusetzen. Bisher sind im Wesentlichen Prozesse zur Entfernung von Polyphenolen aus Getr{\"a}nken wie Bier und Wein bekannt. Eine Wiedergewinnung der Polyphenole war in diesen Anwendungen bisher nicht relevant. Die Gewinnung bzw. Abtrennung der Polyphenole erfolgt u. a. durch kommerziell erh{\"a}ltliche Adsorbentien wie PVPP, Adsorberharze XAD16 (Rh{\"o}m \& Haas) oder SP70 (Sepabeads), deren Partikelgr{\"o}ßen im Bereichvon 0,1 ± 0,8 mm und spezifischen Oberfl{\"a}chen von 700 ± 900 m 2 /g liegen. Als Alternative zu diesen Adsorbern sollen neue Materialien auf Basis von anorganischen Trennmedien, wie z. B. nat{\"u}rlichen Tonmineralien, f{\"u}r die Polyphenolabtrennung verwendet werden. Derzeit wird durch Abgleich von Experiment und Simulation ein Materialscreening durchgef{\"u}hrt. Durch den Einsatz molekulardynamischer Bindungssimulationen wird die Adsorbersuche beschleunigt und Vorhersagen zu Modifikationen bei der Herstellung der neuen Adsorbentien erm{\"o}glicht.},

  abstract  = {Im vom BMELV/FNR gef{\"o}rderten SynRg-Projekt wurde unter anderem Rapsschrot untersucht, um Polyphenole zu isolieren und aufzureinigen. Diese sollen anschließend als Basisbausteine f{\"u}r Polymere dienen und ihnen neuartige Eigenschaften verleihen. Derzeit wird an der Polyphenolextraktion gearbeitet, da bei organischen oder w{\"a}ssrigen Extraktionsprozessen {\"u}berwiegend Sinapin, ein Cholinester der Sinapins{\"a}ure, vorliegt und dieses nicht f{\"u}r die Polymerbildung eingesetzt werden kann. F{\"u}r die im Fokus stehende Sinapins{\"a}ure wird deshalb eine simultane Extraktion und enzymatische oder chemische Hydrolyse von Sinapin zu Sinapins{\"a}ure durchgef{\"u}hrt. Durch die Hydrolyse konnte die Sinapins{\"a}ureausbeute bereits um den Faktor 6,2 auf 15,8 mg g⁻¹ gegen{\"u}ber einer reinw{\"a}ssrigen Extraktion gesteigert werden. F{\"u}r die Aufreinigung des an Sinapins{\"a}ure reichen Extrakts erfolgt anschließend ein adsorptiver Aufarbeitungsschritt, bei dem Zeolithe zum Einsatz kommen. Mit diesem Material ist es m{\"o}glich, die Sinapins{\"a}ure quantitativ zu adsorbieren und sp{\"a}ter mit 70 \%igem Ethanol bei 60 °C zu desorbieren. Bei den Adsorbern handelt es sich um b-Zeolithe von der S{\"u}d-Chemie AG.},

  abstract  = {Enzymatic hydrolysis of lignocellulosic material plays an important role in the classical biorefinery approach. Apart from the pretreatment of the raw material, hydrolysis is the basis for the conversion of the cellulose and hemicellulose fraction into fermentable sugars. After hydrolysis, usually a solid-liquid separation takes place, in order to separate the residual plant material from the sugar-rich fraction, which can be subsequently used in a fermentation step. In order to factor out the separation step, the usage of in alginate immobilized crude cellulose fiber beads (CFBs) were evaluated. Pretreated cellulose fibers are incorporated in an alginate matrix together with the relevant enzymes. In doing so, sugars diffuse trough the alginate matrix, allowing a simplified delivery into the surrounding fluid. This again reduces product inhibition of the glucose on the enzyme catalysts. By means of standardized bead production the hydrolysis in lab scale was possible. First results show that liberation of glucose and xylose is possible, allowing a maximum total sugar yield of 75 \%.},

Lignin z{\"a}hlt zu den wenigen erneuerbaren Quellen f{\"u}r phenolische Bestandteile, wird aber derzeit meist nur thermisch verwertet. Ziel dieses Forschungsvorhabens ist die Funktionalisierung von Lignin zur Verbesserung der Adh{\"a}sionseigenschaften. Als funktionelle Gruppe wird die aromatische Aminos{\"a}ure L-DOPA verwendet, die charakteristisch f{\"u}r die Adh{\"a}sionskraft von Muscheln ist. Lignin ist ein geeignetes St{\"u}tzger{\"u}st, da es ein Polymer ist, das durch enzymkatalysierte Polymerisation gebildet wird. Essenziell f{\"u}r die Entwicklung ist ein besseres Verst{\"a}ndnis {\"u}ber die Bildung von Lignin-Polymeren und deren verschiedene Eigenschaften. Um die Einflussfaktoren auf Kettenl{\"a}nge und Polymerisationseffizienz zu untersuchen, werden zurzeit sowohl Ligninmodellkomponenten (LMK) als auch gel{\"o}stes Organosolv-Lignin verwendet. Laufende Untersuchungen werden zeigen, ob sich die enzymatische Polymerisationsreaktion auf ein gel{\"o}stes Ligninpolymer aus einem Organosolv-Aufschluss {\"u}bertragen l{\"a}sst.},

  abstract  = {Die fermentative Verwertung von Rohglycerin setzt je nach Herstellungsmethode und Produktionsorganismus eine Vorbehandlung des Glycerins zur Entfernung von Produktinhibitoren voraus. Durch den Einsatz von Hydrotalcit-Adsorbern k{\"o}nnen die im Rohglycerin enthaltenen Fetts{\"a}uren entfernt werden. Durch diese einfache Aufarbeitungsmethode ist ein mit reinem Glycerin vergleichbarer Umsatz von stark mit Fetts{\"a}uren verunreinigtem Rohglycerin zu 1,3-Propandiol (PDO) m{\"o}glich. Die durch den Hydrotalcit gebundenen Fetts{\"a}uren lassen sich mit einem Ethanol-Wasser-Gemisch eluieren. Somit kann der Adsorber regeneriert und die Fetts{\"a}uren wieder der Wertsch{\"o}pfungskette zugef{\"u}hrt werden. Im Fed-Batch-Experiment kann mit C. diolis eine PDO-Konzentration von {\"u}ber 50 g L⁻¹ unter Verwendung des aufgereinigten Rohglycerins erzielt werden. In der industriellen Produktion wird PDO momentan destillativ aufgearbeitet. Ein adsorptives Aufarbeitungsverfahren kann den Energiebedarf des Herstellungsprozesses drastisch senken. Auf der Suche nach einem geeigneten Material wurde ein Adsorberscreening in Bezug auf die Bindungseigenschaften durchgef{\"u}hrt. Mit einem b-Zeolith der Firma S{\"u}d ChemieAG konnte bisher die h{\"o}chste Beladung im Modellsystem von 120 mg PDO/gAdsorber erreicht werden.},

  abstract  = {Aus h{\"o}lzernen Cellulosen und Hemicellulosen k{\"o}nnen durch enzymatische Hydrolyse fermentierbare Zucker f{\"u}r die Herstellung von Chemikalien und Treibstoffen gewonnen werden. Die bisherige Forschung fokussiert sich oft auf die Nutzung dieser Zucker zur Gewinnung von Ethanol. Daneben muss aber auch die stoffliche Nutzung zur Gewinnung von Grundchemikalien ber{\"u}cksichtigt werden. Eine solche Grundchemikalie ist Itakons{\"a}ure. Obwohl die biotechnologische Itacons{\"a}ureproduktion bereits eingehend untersucht und etabliert ist, gestaltet sie sich im Rahmen von Bioraffinerien der zweiten Generation als schwierig, da der {\"u}berwiegend verwendete Produktionsorganismus gegen eine weite Bandbreite von Inhibitoren sensibel ist. Die Herstellung von Itacons{\"a}ure aus Buchenholzhydrolysaten wird im Rahmen der deutschen Lignocellulose-Bioraffinerie entwickelt. Die unbehandelten Hydrolysate erm{\"o}glichen weder das Wachstum von Aspergillus terreus noch die Bildung von Itacons{\"a}ure. Daher werden M{\"o}glichkeiten zur Konditionierung des Hydrolysates mit dem Ziel einer Itacons{\"a}ureproduktion mit hohen Ausbeuten und Konzentrationen vorgestellt.},
