  abstract  = {Heavy-duty trucks are one of the main contributors to greenhouse gas emissions in German traffic. Drivetrain electrification is an option to reduce tailpipe emissions by increasing energy conversion efficiency. To evaluate the vehicle's environmental impacts, it is necessary to consider the entire life cycle. In addition to the daily use, it is also necessary to include the impact of production and disposal. This study presents the comparative life cycle analysis of a parallel hybrid and a conventional heavy-duty truck in long-haul operation. Assuming a uniform vehicle glider, only the differing parts of both drivetrains are taken into account to calculate the environmental burdens of the production. The use phase is modeled by a backward simulation in MATLAB/Simulink considering a characteristic driving cycle. A break-even analysis is conducted to show at what mileage the larger CO2eq emissions due to the production of the electric drivetrain are compensated. The effect of parameter variation on the break-even mileage is investigated by a sensitivity analysis. The results of this analysis show the difference in CO2eq/t km is negative, indicating that the hybrid vehicle releases 4.34 g CO2eq/t km over a lifetime fewer emissions compared to the diesel truck. The break-even analysis also emphasizes the advantages of the electrified drivetrain, compensating the larger emissions generated during production after already a distance of 15,800 km (approx. 1.5 months of operation time). The intersection coordinates, distance, and CO2eq, strongly depend on fuel, emissions for battery production and the driving profile, which lead to nearly all parameter variations showing an increase in break-even distance.},

  abstract  = {The simultaneous assessment of glottal dynamics and larynx position can be beneficial for the diagnosis of disordered voice or speech production and swallowing. Up to now, methods either concentrate on assessment of the glottis opening using optical, acoustical or electrical (electroglottography, EGG) methods, or on visualisation of the larynx position using ultrasound, computer tomography or magnetic resonance imaging techniques. The method presented here makes use of a time-multiplex measurement approach of space-resolved transfer impedances through the larynx. The fast sequence of measurements allows a quasi simultaneous assessment of both larynx position and EGG signal using up to 32 transmit-receive signal paths. The system assesses the dynamic opening status of the glottis as well as the vertical and back/forward motion of the larynx. Two electrode-arrays are used for the measurement of the electrical transfer impedance through the neck in different directions. From the acquired data the global and individual conductivity is calculated as well as a 2D point spatial representation of the minimum impedance. The position information is shown together with classical EGG signals allowing a synchronous visual assessment of glottal area and larynx position. A first application to singing voice analysis is presented that indicate a high potential of the method for use as a non-invasive tool in the diagnosis of voice, speech, and swallowing disorders.},

  abstract  = {Drought and water shortage are serious problems in many arid and semi-arid regions. This problem is getting worse and even continues in temperate climatic regions due to climate change. To address this problem, the use of biodegradable hydrogels is increasingly important for the application as water-retaining additives in soil. Furthermore, efficient (micro-)nutrient supply can be provided by the use of tailored hydrogels. Biodegradable polyaspartic acid (PASP) hydrogels with different available (1,6-hexamethylene diamine (HMD) and L-lysine (LYS)) and newly developed crosslinkers based on diesters of glycine (GLY) and (di-)ethylene glycol (DEG and EG, respectively) were synthesized and characterized using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and regarding their swelling properties (kinetic, absorbency under load (AUL)) as well as biodegradability of PASP hydrogel. Copper (II) and zinc (II), respectively, were loaded as micronutrients in two different approaches: in situ with crosslinking and subsequent loading of prepared hydrogels. The results showed successful syntheses of di-glycine-ester-based crosslinkers. Hydrogels with good water-absorbing properties were formed. Moreover, the developed crosslinking agents in combination with the specific reaction conditions resulted in higher water absorbency with increased crosslinker content used in synthesis (10\% vs. 20\%). The prepared hydrogels are candidates for water-storing soil additives due to the biodegradability of PASP, which is shown in an exemple. The incorporation of Cu(II) and Zn(II) ions can provide these micronutrients for plant growth.},

  abstract  = {Der zunehmende Bedarf an fossilen Rohstoffen bei gleichzeitig abnehmender Versorgungssicherheit f{\"u}hrt zu einer intensiven Suche nach erneuerbaren Ressourcen. Ein vielversprechendes Ausgangsmaterial mit einer weltweiten Verf{\"u}gbarkeit stellt Gras dar. In 2012 wurden in Deutschland 33 Millionen Tonnen (Heugewicht) Gras auf 4,82 Millionen Hektar Ackerland produziert, davon wurden 60,5 \% siliert. Durch die Silierung kann Gras als Substrat zeitlich uneingeschr{\"a}nkt verf{\"u}gbar sein, ohne dem Risiko des schnellen Verderbs ausgesetzt zu sein. Eine Schl{\"u}sselrolle im Rahmen des Silierprozesses nimmt die Produktion von Milchs{\"a}ure ein. Milchs{\"a}ure ist einbedeutendes biotechnologisches Produkt f{\"u}r die Lebensmittel- und die chemische Industrie. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wird die vollst{\"a}ndige Umwandlung der fermentierbaren Zucker in der Silage zu Milchs{\"a}ure angestrebt, um die maximale Ausbeute der organischen S{\"a}ure zu erreichen. Im ersten Verfahrensschritt wird die Silage gepresst und der erhaltene Presskuchen einer Liquid-Hot-Water-Behandlung unterzogen. Durch diese einfache Vorbehandlung k{\"o}nnen hohe Glucoseausbeuten im nachfolgenden SSF-Schritt bei gleichzeitig geringem Enzymeinsatz und Chemikalienverbrauch realisiert werden. Zur Aufreinigung der Milchs{\"a}ure wurden extraktive und chromatographische Methoden untersucht.},

  abstract  = {Glucose ist ein prim{\"a}res Zwischenprodukt der Verarbeitung nachwachsender Rohstoffe, wie z. B. Cellulose. Die wertsteigernde Weiterverarbeitung des Monosaccharids erfolgt h{\"a}ufig in Form vonFermentationsprozessen, jedoch kann der Rohstoff auch f{\"u}r zahlreiche chemische Verarbeitungsstufen genutzt werden. Ein großtechnisch relevanter Prozess ist die Herstellung von Glucons{\"a}ure (GS), die u. a. als Nahrungsmittelzusatz (E 574) eingesetzt wird. Die Darstellung der S{\"a}ure erfolgt durch Oxidation von Glucose mit magnetisierbarem Gold-Nano-Katalysator. Die R{\"u}ckgewinnung des Katalysators aus der Reaktionsl{\"o}sung wurde unter Einwirkung eines Magnetfeldgradienten verwirklicht. Die Synthese der magnetischen Goldkatalysatoren (sowohl Tr{\"a}gerpartikel als auch Gold-Nanopartikel) wurde durch nass-chemische F{\"a}llungsreaktionen durchgef{\"u}hrt. Die Charakteristiken der neuen Materialen konnte durch Messungen des PCD-Potenzials, Laserbeugung und REM/EDX untersucht werden. So wurden u. a. Partikeldurchmesser von 25 lm und ein Goldgehaltvon 1,03 \% ermittelt. Weiterhin wurden f{\"u}r die Goldkatalysatoren optimale Reaktionsbedingungen f{\"u}r die Glucoseoxidation im geregelten R{\"u}hrkesselreaktor etabliert. Hierdurch konnten eine Produktselektivit{\"a}t von 100 \% und eine Wiederverwendbarkeit der Partikel {\"u}ber mindestens zehn Zyklen erreicht werden.},

Aus dieser Vision heraus und dem Schub der Digitalisierung entstehen Bildungskonzepte wie Open Educational Resources (OER), die gesellschaftlichen Problemen, wie dem des Fachkr{\"a}ftemangels, entgegenwirken sollen. Im Rahmen dieses Kurzbeitrags wird das Projekt WiLMo - "Wirtschaftsinformatik Lehr- und Lernmodule" vorgestellt. WiLMo wird im Rahmen von OERContent.nrw unter Beteiligung von sechs Hochschulen entwickelt und gef{\"o}rdert.   abstract  = {Biofuels potentially interesting also for aviation purposes are predominantly liquid fuels produced from biomass. The most common biofuels today are biodiesel and bioethanol. Since diesel engines are rather rare in aviation this survey is focusing on ethanol admixed to gasoline products. The Directive 2003/30/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of May 8th 2003 on the promotion of the use of biofuels or other renewable fuels for transport encourage a growing admixture of biogenic fuel components to fossil automotive gasoline. Some aircraft models equipped with spark ignited piston engines are approved for operation with automotive gasoline, frequently called "MOGAS" (motor gasoline). The majority of those approvals is limited to MOGAS compositions that do not contain methanol or ethanol beyond negligible amounts. In the past years (bio-)MTBE or (bio-)ETBE have been widely used as blending component of automotive gasoline whilst the usage of low-molecular alcohols like methanol or ethanol has been avoided due to the handling problems especially with regard to the strong affinity for water. With rising mandatory bio-admixtures the conversion of the basic biogenic ethanol to ETBE, causing a reduction of energetic payoff, becomes more and more unattractive. Therefore the direct ethanol admixture is accordingly favoured. Due to the national enforcements of the directive 2003/30/EC more oxygenates produced from organic materials like bioethanol have started to appear in automotive gasolines already. The current fuel specification EN 228 already allows up to 3 \% volume per volume (v/v) (bio-)methanol or up to 5 \% v/v (bio-)ethanol as fuel components. This is also roughly the amount of biogenic components to comply with the legal requirements to avoid monetary penalties for producers and distributors of fuels. Since automotive fuel is cheaper than the common aviation gasoline (AVGAS), creates less problems with lead deposits in the engine, and in general produces less pollutants it is strongly favoured by pilots. But being designed for a different set of usage scenarios the use of automotive fuel with low molecular alcohols for aircraft operation may have adverse effects in aviation operation. Increasing amounts of ethanol admixtures impose various changes in the gasoline's chemical and physical properties, some of them rather unexpected and not within the range of flight experiences even of long-term pilots.},

Indulging this situation, FH Joanneum, Austria together with European partners from FH Aachen, Germany and Politecnico Di Torino, Italy is taking initiative to close the gap utilizing the Erasmus+ United grant from EU. A consortium was founded to engage with automotive technology transfer using the European ramework to Malaysian, Indonesian and Thailand Higher Education Institutions (HEI) as well as automotive industries. This could be achieved by establishing Engineering Knowledge Transfer Unit (EKTU) in respective SEA institutions guided by the industry partners in their respective countries. This EKTU could offer updated, innovative, and high-quality training courses to increase graduate's employability in higher education institutions and strengthen relations between HEI and the wider economic and social environment by addressing Universityindustry cooperation which is the regional priority for Asia. It is expected that, the Capacity Building Initiative would improve the quality of higher education and enhancing its relevance for the labor market and society in the SEA partners. The outcome of this project would greatly benefit the partners in strong and complementary partnership targeting the automotive industry and enhanced larger scale international cooperation between the European and SEA partners. It would also prepare the SEA HEI in sustainable partnership with Automotive industry in the region as a mean of income generation in the future.},

Recent developments of CMR at 7.0 T have been driven by pioneering explorations into novel multichannel transmit and receive coil array technology to tackle the challenges B1+-field inhomogeneities, to offset specific-absorption rate (SAR) constraints and to reduce banding artifacts in SSFP imaging. For this study, recognition of the benefits and performance of local surface Tx/Rx-array structures recently established at 7.0 T inspired migration to 3.0 T, where RF inhomogeneities and SAR limitations encountered in routine clinical CMR, though somewhat reduced versus the 7.0 T situation, remain significant. For all these reasons, this study was designed to build and examine the feasibility of a local four channel Tx/Rx cardiac coil array for anatomical and functional cardiac imaging at 3.0 T. For comparison, a homebuilt 4 channel Rx cardiac coil array exhibiting the same geometry as the Tx/Rx coil and a Rx surface coil array were used.},

  abstract  = {Like all preceding transformations of the manufacturing industry, the large-scale usage of production data will reshape the role of humans within the sociotechnical production ecosystem. To ensure that this transformation creates work systems in which employees are empowered, productive, healthy, and motivated, the transformation must be guided by principles of and research on human-centered work design. Specifically, measures must be taken at all levels of work design, ranging from (1) the work tasks to (2) the working conditions to (3) the organizational level and (4) the supra-organizational level. We present selected research across all four levels that showcase the opportunities and requirements that surface when striving for human-centered work design for the Internet of Production (IoP). (1) On the work task level, we illustrate the user-centered design of human-robot collaboration (HRC) and process planning in the composite industry as well as user-centered design factors for cognitive assistance systems. (2) On the working conditions level, we present a newly developed framework for the classification of HRC workplaces. (3) Moving to the organizational level, we show how corporate data can be used to facilitate best practice sharing in production networks, and we discuss the implications of the IoP for new leadership models. Finally, (4) on the supra-organizational level, we examine overarching ethical dimensions, investigating, e.g., how the new work contexts affect our understanding of responsibility and normative values such as autonomy and privacy. Overall, these interdisciplinary research perspectives highlight the importance and necessary scope of considering the human factor in the IoP.},

  abstract  = {After a brief introduction of conventional laboratory structures, this work focuses on an innovative and universal approach for a setup of a training laboratory for electric machines and drive systems. The novel approach employs a central 48 V DC bus, which forms the backbone of the structure. Several sets of DC machine, asynchronous machine and synchronous machine are connected to this bus. The advantages of the novel system structure are manifold, both from a didactic and a technical point of view: Student groups can work on their own performance level in a highly parallelized and at the same time individualized way. Additional training setups (similar or different) can easily be added. Only the total power dissipation has to be provided, i.e. the DC bus balances the power flow between the student groups. Comparative results of course evaluations of several cohorts of students are shown.},

Since knowledge can be both tacit and explicit, its transfer from the individual to the organizational knowledge base poses a challenge in organizations. This challenge increases when the fluctuation of knowledge carriers is exceptionally high. Especially in large projects in which external consultants are involved, there is a risk that critical, company-relevant knowledge generated in the project will leave the company with the external knowledge carrier and thus be lost. In this paper, we show the advantages of an early warning system for knowledge management to avoid this loss. In particular, the potential of visual analytics in the context of knowledge management systems is presented and discussed.   abstract  = {When confining pressure is low or absent, extensional fractures are typical, with fractures occurring on unloaded planes in rock. These "paradox" fractures can be explained by a phenomenological extension strain failure criterion. In the past, a simple empirical criterion for fracture initiation in brittle rock has been developed. But this criterion makes unrealistic strength predictions in biaxial compression and tension. A new extension strain criterion overcomes this limitation by adding a weighted principal shear component. The weight is chosen, such that the enriched extension strain criterion represents the same failure surface as the Mohr-Coulomb (MC) criterion. Thus, the MC criterion has been derived as an extension strain criterion predicting failure modes, which are unexpected in the understanding of the failure of cohesive-frictional materials. In progressive damage of rock, the most likely fracture direction is orthogonal to the maximum extension strain. The enriched extension strain criterion is proposed as a threshold surface for crack initiation CI and crack damage CD and as a failure surface at peak P. Examples show that the enriched extension strain criterion predicts much lower volumes of damaged rock mass compared to the simple extension strain criterion.},

  abstract  = {We present new numerical results for shape optimization problems of interior Neumann eigenvalues. This field is not well understood from a theoretical standpoint. The existence of shape maximizers is not proven beyond the first two eigenvalues, so we study the problem numerically. We describe a method to compute the eigenvalues for a given shape that combines the boundary element method with an algorithm for nonlinear eigenvalues. As numerical optimization requires many such evaluations, we put a focus on the efficiency of the method and the implemented routine. The method is well suited for parallelization. Using the resulting fast routines and a specialized parametrization of the shapes, we found improved maxima for several eigenvalues.},

  abstract  = {The downsizing of spark ignition engines in conjunction with turbocharging is considered to be a promising method for reducing CO₂ emissions. Using this concept, FEV has developed a new, highly efficient drivetrain to demonstrate fuel consumption reduction and drivability in a vehicle based on the Ford Focus ST. The newly designed 1.8L turbocharged gasoline engine incorporates infinitely variable intake and outlet control timing and direct fuel injection utilizing piezo injectors centrally located. In addition, this engine uses a prototype FEV engine control system, with software that was developed and adapted entirely by FEV. The vehicle features a 160 kW engine with a maximum mean effective pressure of 22.4 bar and 34 \% savings in simulated fuel consumption. During the first stage, a new electrohydraulically actuated hybrid transmission with seven forward gears and one reverse gear and a single dry starting clutch will be integrated. The electric motor of the hybrid is directly connected to the gear set of the transmission. Utilizing the special gear set layout, the electric motor can provide boost during a change of gears, so that there is no interruption in traction. Therefore, the transmission system combines the advantages of a double clutch controlled gear change (gear change without an interruption in traction) with the efficient, cost-effective design of an automated manual transmission system. Additionally, the transmission provides a purely electric drive system and the operation of an air-conditioning compressor during the engine stop phases. One other alternative is through the use of CAI (Controlled Auto Ignition), which incorporates a process developed by FEV for controlled compression ignition.},

F{\"u}r die beschriebenen Experimente wird durch das Organosolv-Verfahren aufgeschlossenes Buchenholz verwendet. Der Faserstoff wird mithilfe von CTec2-Enzymen hydrolysiert, wobei der erhaltene {\"U}berstand eine Glucosekonzentration von 66 g L⁻¹ aufweist. Auf der Basis dieses Materials k{\"o}nnen mit Clostridium acetobutylicum Butanol-Ausbeuten erzielt werden, die mit denen unter Verwendung von reinen Zuckern vergleichbar sind. Dem Problem der hohen Produktinhibierung wird mit einer In-situ-Produktaufarbeitung begegnet. Mithilfe von L{\"o}sungsmittelimpr{\"a}gnierten Partikeln (SIPs) kann die Produktausbeute drastisch gesteigert werden, indem die gebildeten L{\"o}sungsmittel durch das auf dem Partikel impr{\"a}gnierte L{\"o}sungsmittel w{\"a}hrend der Fermentation extrahiert werden. Zudem wird hierdurch die weitere Produktaufarbeitungstark vereinfacht.},

  abstract  = {This publication is intended to present the current state of research on the rebound effect. First, a systematic literature review is carried out to outline (current) scientific models and theories. Research Question 1 follows with a mathematical introduction of the rebound effect, which shows the interdependence of consumer behaviour, technological progress, and interwoven effects for both. Thereupon, the research field is analysed for gaps and limitations by a systematic literature review. To ensure quantitative and qualitative results, a review protocol is used that integrates two different stages and covers all relevant publications released between 2000 and 2019. Accordingly, 392 publications were identified that deal with the rebound effect. These papers were reviewed to obtain relevant information on the two research questions. The literature review shows that research on the rebound effect is not yet comprehensive and focuses mainly on the effect itself rather than solutions to avoid it. Research Question 2 finds that the main gap, and thus the limitations, is that not much research has been published on the actual avoidance of the rebound effect yet. This is a major limitation for practical application by decision-makers and politicians. Therefore, a theoretical analysis was carried out to identify potential theories and ideas to avoid the rebound effect. The most obvious idea to solve this problem is the theory of a Steady-State Economy (SSE), which has been described and reviewed.},

  abstract  = {With proven impact of statistical fracture analysis on fracture classifications, it is desirable to minimize the manual work and to maximize repeatability of this approach. We address this with an algorithm that reduces the manual effort to segmentation, fragment identification and reduction. The fracture edge detection and heat map generation are performed automatically. With the same input, the algorithm always delivers the same output. The tool transforms one intact template consecutively onto each fractured specimen by linear least square optimization, detects the fragment edges in the template and then superimposes them to generate a fracture probability heat map. We hypothesized that the algorithm runs faster than the manual evaluation and with low (< 5 mm) deviation. We tested the hypothesis in 10 fractured proximal humeri and found that it performs with good accuracy (2.5 mm ± 2.4 mm averaged Euclidean distance) and speed (23 times faster). When applied to a distal humerus, a tibia plateau, and a scaphoid fracture, the run times were low (1-2 min), and the detected edges correct by visual judgement. In the geometrically complex acetabulum, at a run time of 78 min some outliers were considered acceptable. An automatically generated fracture probability heat map based on 50 proximal humerus fractures matches the areas of high risk of fracture reported in medical literature. Such automation of the fracture analysis method is advantageous and could be extended to reduce the manual effort even further.},

  abstract  = {The successful implementation and continuous development of sustainable corporate-level solutions is a challenge. These are endeavours in which social, environmental, and financial aspects must be weighed against each other. They can prove difficult to handle and, in some cases, almost unrealistic. Concepts such as green controlling, IT, and manufacturing look promising and are constantly evolving. This paper aims to achieve a better understanding of the field of corporate sustainability (CS). It will evaluate the hypothesis by which Corporate Sustainability thrives, via being efficient, increasing the performance, and raising the value of the input of the enterprises to the resources used. In fact, Corporate Sustainability on the surface could seem to contradict the idea, which supports the understanding that it encourages the reduction of the heavy reliance on the use of natural resources, the overall environmental impact, and above all, their protection. To understand how the contradictory notion of CS came about, in this part of the paper, the emphasis is placed on providing useful insight to this regard. The first part of this paper summarizes various definitions, organizational theories, and measures used for CS and its derivatives like green controlling, IT, and manufacturing. Second, a case study is given that combines the aforementioned sustainability models. In addition to evaluating the hypothesis, the overarching objective of this paper is to demonstrate the use of green controlling, IT, and manufacturing in the corporate sector. Furthermore, this paper outlines the current challenges and possible directions for CS in the future.},

  abstract  = {Frequency mixing magnetic detection (FMMD) is a sensitive and selective technique to detect magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) serving as probes for binding biological targets. Its principle relies on the nonlinear magnetic relaxation dynamics of a particle ensemble interacting with a dual frequency external magnetic field. In order to increase its sensitivity, lower its limit of detection and overall improve its applicability in biosensing, matching combinations of external field parameters and internal particle properties are being sought to advance FMMD. In this study, we systematically probe the aforementioned interaction with coupled N{\´e}el-Brownian dynamic relaxation simulations to examine how key MNP properties as well as applied field parameters affect the frequency mixing signal generation. It is found that the core size of MNPs dominates their nonlinear magnetic response, with the strongest contributions from the largest particles. The drive field amplitude dominates the shape of the field-dependent response, whereas effective anisotropy and hydrodynamic size of the particles only weakly influence the signal generation in FMMD. For tailoring the MNP properties and parameters of the setup towards optimal FMMD signal generation, our findings suggest choosing large particles of core sizes dc > 25 nm nm with narrow size distributions (σ < 0.1) to minimize the required drive field amplitude. This allows potential improvements of FMMD as a stand-alone application, as well as advances in magnetic particle imaging, hyperthermia and magnetic immunoassays.},

However, as a potent greenhouse gas, it has also gained additional attention due to its environmental impacts. The biological production of methane is performed primarily hydrogenotrophically from H2 and CO2 by methanogenic archaea. Hydrogenotrophic methanogenesis also represents a great interest with respect to carbon re-cycling and H2 storage. The most significant carbon source, extremely rich in complex organic matter for microbial degradation and biogenic methane production, is coal. Although interest in enhanced microbial coalbed methane production is continuously increasing globally, limited knowledge exists regarding the exact origins of the coalbed methane and the associated microbial communities, including hydrogenotrophic methanogens. Here, we give an overview of hydrogenotrophic methanogens in coal beds and related environments in terms of their energy production mechanisms, unique metabolic pathways, and associated ecological functions.},

Es sind nicht nur Lebensmittel, welche nach dem Aufenthalt im Supermarkt in unserem K{\"u}hlschrank und anschließend in unserem Bauch landen. Mit diesen Lebensmitteln gehen außerdem folgende Aspekte einher: der Klimawandel, unsere Gesundheit, die Ausbeutung von Tieren, Menschen und Natur. Also wie sieht eigentlich der Enstehungsprozess hinter all diesen (meist) verpackten Lebensmitteln aus? Einen Teil dieser Prozesse habe ich mir im Rahmen meiner Bachelorarbeit angeschaut. Ich habe ausschließlich Bio-H{\"o}fe besucht, um mir ein eigenes Bild von "alternativer Landwirtschaft" zu machen. Dadurch werden von dargestellten Personen h{\"a}ufig die k{\"o}rperlichen Aspekte hervorgehoben. Im Gegensatz dazu gilt das weibliche Pendant, der „Female Gaze", als besonders emotionsbetont. Weil Medien einen enormen Einfluss auf gesellschaftliches und individuelles Denken haben, stellt die Dominanz des „Male Gaze" eine Unausgeglichenheit dar, die sich in verschiedenen Bereichen des gesellschaftlichen Lebens widerspiegelt. Deswegen m{\"o}chte dieses Projekt die Medien um die weibliche Sichtweise erweitern und damit die dort transportierten Bilder diverser und ausgewogener machen. Die Fotografie fokussiert sich dabei auf die Gef{\"u}hlswelt der Protagonistin, womit die Betrachter:Innen schrittweise in ihre Position hineinversetzt werden sollen. Mit Augen des Mitgef{\"u}hls und eigenem Sch{\"o}nheitsbegriff l{\"a}sst „Falling in love with the female gaze" endlich auch die Frau zu Wort kommen.},

Mit ihr entsteht ein visueller Anreiz, sich mehr mit dem gesunden Nahrungsmittel auseinanderzusetzen. Viele Kinder sowie Erwachsene kennen viele Gem{\"u}sesorten {\"u}berhaupt nicht, Gem{\"u}se wie z. B. Schwarzwurzeln, Pastinaken oder gar Fenchel ist oftmals wenig bekannt. Mit der Arbeit wird ein informeller, illustrativer {\"U}berblick {\"u}ber Gem{\"u}se geschaffen, um zum Beispiel auch {\"u}ber die Inhaltsstoffe zu informieren. Denn viele wissen gar nicht, was eigentlich in dem wertvollen Nahrungsmitteln steckt, wie gut ein regelm{\"a}ßiger Konsum von Gem{\"u}se eigentlich f{\"u}r uns ist. Dabei hat der t{\"a}gliche Konsum von verschiedenen Gem{\"u}sesorten nicht nur eine Auswirkung auf die k{\"o}rperliche sondern auch auf die mentale Gesundheit. Viele Gem{\"u}sesorten beinhalten bestimmte Vitamine oder weitere Inhaltsstoffe, die sich positiv auf unsere Psyche auswirken und dazu beitragen, zum Bespiel einen depressiven Zustand zu verbessern. Auch die Umwelt kann von einem h{\"a}ufigeren Konsum von Gem{\"u}se anstatt Fleisch profitieren. Denn bei der Produktion von Fleisch entsteht viel mehr Kohlenstoffdioxid als bei der Produktion von Gem{\"u}se. Auch der Anteil des virtuellen Wassers ist bei der Produktion von Fleisch viel h{\"o}her. Das Projekt besteht aus einem fadengebundenen Hardcover-Buch und einer Poster-Serie. Zu Beginn der Arbeit wird eine allgemeine Einleitung in das Thema Gem{\"u}se gegeben. Im folgenden Hauptteil werden verschiedene Gem{\"u}segruppen und einige der zugeh{\"o}rigen Sorten visuell und informativ erkl{\"a}rt. Bei der Poster-Serie wurden die sechs Hauptfarben, die jeweiligen Gem{\"u}seillustrationen separiert und im Stil der Arbeit nummeriert benannt. Mit dem Projekt soll die Unwissenheit {\"u}ber viele Gem{\"u}sesorten gesenkt und der Konsum von weniger Fleisch und mehr Gem{\"u}se angeregt werden.},

Who, as we grew up, taught us about the world from their perspective as we interpreted and saw it for the first time and with it, its colors, its smells, its tastes, its sounds, its dances, and its languages. When we migrate, we take all that with us, like a piece of luggage that was stored in some corner inside a lung, or inside the memory in a heart's artery. And then you arrive in this new world, which we were told was the Old World, with other colors, other flavors, other words, in which yours no longer make sense. And you try to connect with all your senses, but, above all, we try to belong, because we belonged all our lives to something, to someone, to some place where we learned to be. When we migrate, without saying, we go through the grieve that comes with the beautiful discomfort of leaving everything we once knew. We mourn, because we can't go to lunch at our grandmas on Sundays, or have mom bring us soup when we are sick, or the Christmas meals and celebrations that we like so much, or that special dish that was made for us on our birthdays or on a family BBQ on a Sunday or a holiday. I wonder if emotions come inside us through the taste and respiratory track, if it is that we breathe life, and with that what we love finds its ways inside and finds its corner somewhere in the body. If what we have loved and what we have lived hides somewhere in our body, I doubtlessly think it came in through one of our senses, and in this attempt at my first illustrated book I'll share which, I think, are the senses through which at first instance part of what we perceive as cultural identity enters.},

Zus{\"a}tzlich zum redaktionellen Teil untermauern Infografiken die Texte faktisch und Fotoserien emotional. Da unsichtbarer M{\"u}ll auf zwei Ebenen zu finden ist - der Makro- (groß) und Mikroebene (klein) - wurde die Publikation inhaltlich zweigeteilt, sodass sich das Layout und die Fotoserien vom Mikro- und Makroteil unterscheiden. },

  abstract  = {Recent earthquakes showed that low-rise URM buildings following codecompliant seismic design and details behaved in general very well without substantial damages. Although advances in simulation tools make nonlinear calculation methods more readily accessible to designers, linear analyses will still be the standard design method for years to come. The present paper aims to improve the linear seismic design method by providing a proper definition of the q-factor of URM buildings. Values of q-factors are derived for low-rise URM buildings with rigid diaphragms, with reference to modern structural configurations realized in low to moderate seismic areas of Italy and Germany. The behaviour factor components for deformation and energy dissipation capacity and for overstrength due to the redistribution of forces are derived by means of pushover analyses. As a result of the investigations, rationally based values of the behaviour factor q to be used in linear analyses in the range of 2.0 to 3.0 are proposed.},
