NMR spectroscopic method based both on low- (80 MHz) and high- (500-600 MHz) field NMR instrumentation was established, compared and validated for the determination of chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine in dietary supplements. The proposed method was applied for analysis of 20 different dietary supplements. In the majority of cases, quantification results obtained on the low-field NMR spectrometer are similar to those obtained with high-field 500-600 MHz NMR devices. Validation results in terms of accuracy, precision, reproducibility, limit of detection and recovery demonstrated that the developed method is fit for purpose for the marketed products. The NMR method was extended to the analysis of methylsulfonylmethane, adulterant maltodextrin, acetate and inorganic ions. Low-field NMR can be a quicker and cheaper alternative to more expensive high-field NMR measurements for quality control of the investigated dietary supplements. High-field NMR instrumentation can be more favorable for samples with complex composition due to better resolution, simultaneously giving the possibility of analysis of inorganic species such as potassium and chloride.}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{AdomeitWillms1984, author = {Adomeit, G. and Willms, Herbert}, title = {Experimental investigation of the acceleration of deflagration in wake flow}, series = {Safety of thermal water reactors : proceedings of a Seminar on the Results of the European Communities' Indirect Action Research Programme on Safety of Thermal Water Reactors, held in Brussels, 1-3 October 1984 / Commission of the European Communities}, booktitle = {Safety of thermal water reactors : proceedings of a Seminar on the Results of the European Communities' Indirect Action Research Programme on Safety of Thermal Water Reactors, held in Brussels, 1-3 October 1984 / Commission of the European Communities}, editor = {Skupinski, Edwin}, publisher = {Graham \& Trotman [u.a.]}, address = {London Gaithersburg, Md.}, isbn = {0-86010-678-0}, pages = {294 -- 304}, year = {1984}, language = {en} } @techreport{AdomeitWillms1984, author = {Adomeit, G. and Willms, Herbert}, title = {Experimental investigation of the acceleration of deflagration in wake flow : final report. - (Euratom-publications-EUR ; 9593 : Nuclear science and technology)}, publisher = {Commission of the European Communities}, address = {Luxembourg}, isbn = {92-825-4699-3}, pages = {III, 119 S.}, year = {1984}, language = {en} } @article{AggarwalDhimanKumaretal.2012, author = {Aggarwal, P. and Dhiman, S. and Kumar, G. and Scherer, Ulrich W. and Singla, M. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study of the reproducibility of fascicle length and pennation angle of gastrocnemius medialis in vivo during human gait. Twelve males performed 10 gait trials on a treadmill, in 2 separate days. B-mode ultrasonography, with the ultrasound probe firmly adjusted in the transverse and frontal planes using a special cast, was used to measure the fascicle length and the pennation angle of the gastrocnemius medialis (GM). A Vicon 624 system with three cameras operating at 120 Hz was also used to record the ankle and knee joint angles. The results showed that measurements of fascicle length and pennation angle showed high reproducibility during the gait cycle, both within the same day and between different days. Moreover, the root mean square differences between the repeated waveforms of both variables were very small, compared with their ranges (fascicle length: RMS = ∼3 mm, range: 38-63 mm; pennation angle: RMS = ∼1.5°, range: 22-32°). However, their reproducibility was lower compared to the joint angles. It was found that representative data have to be derived by a wide number of gait trials (fascicle length ∼six trials, pennation angle more than 10 trials), to assure the reliability of the fascicle length and pennation angle in human gait.}, language = {en} } @article{AgrafiotisMavroidisKonstandopoulosetal.2007, author = {Agrafiotis, Christos C. and Mavroidis, Ilias and Konstandopoulos, Athansios G. and Hoffschmidt, Bernhard and Stobbe, Per and Romero, Manuel and Fernandez-Quero, Valerio}, title = {Evaluation of porous silicon carbide monolithic honeycombs as volumetric receivers/collectors of concentrated solar radiation}, series = {Solar energy materials and solar cells}, volume = {Vol. 91}, journal = {Solar energy materials and solar cells}, number = {Iss. 6}, issn = {1879-3398 (E-Journal); 0927-0248 (Print)}, pages = {474 -- 488}, year = {2007}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{AhlbrinkAlexopoulosAnderssonetal.2009, author = {Ahlbrink, N. and Alexopoulos, Spiros and Andersson, J. and Belhomme, B. and Teixeira Boura, Cristiano Jos{\´e} and Gall, J. and Hirsch, T.}, title = {viCERP - the Virtual Institute of Central Receiver Power Plant}, series = {MATHMOD 2009 - 6th Vienna International Conference on Mathematical Modelling : February 11 - 13, 2009, Vienna, Austria. In this work, bead on plate butt joints of 2·5 mm DP600 and 1·2 mm TRIP700 steel sheets were performed using CO2 laser beam welding. Microhardness measurements and transverse tensile testing were carried out to characterise the welds. The formability of base metals and welds were investigated by standard Erichsen test. In a perpendicular tensile test to the weld line, all specimens were fractured at the TRIP base metal, and the strengths were somewhat higher than those of base metal. The chemical analysis of L.setulosus on a localization of lagochirzin in various organs of a plant, has shown, that the greatest quantity of lagochirzin collects in calyx lobes of the plants.
