In this study, beta-zeolite-based adsorbent systems were examined, and their properties were compared to organic resins. Batch adsorption experiments were conducted with synthetic solutions of major polyphenols. Adsorption isotherms and desorption characteristics of individual adsorbent were determined based on these results. Maximum adsorption capacities were calculated using the Langmuir model. For example, the zeolites had capacities up to 203.2 mg/g for ferulic acid. To extend these results to a complex system, additional experiments were performed on rapeseed meal and wheat seed extracts as representative renewable resources. HPLC analysis showed that with 7.5\% w/v, which is regarded as the optimum amount of zeolites, zeolites A and B could bind 100\% of the major polyphenols as well as release polyphenols at high yields. Additionally, regeneration experiments were performed with isopropyl alcohol at 99°C to evaluate how zeolites regenerate under mild conditions. The results showed only a negligible loss of adsorption capacity and no loss of desorption capacity. In summary, it was concluded that beta-zeolites were promising adsorbents for developing new processes to isolate polyphenols from renewable resources.}, language = {en} } @article{ButenwegGellert2013, author = {Butenweg, Christoph and Gellert, Christoph}, title = {Nichtlinearer Nachweis von Mauerwerksbauten}, series = {Mauerwerk : European journal of masonry}, volume = {Volume 17}, journal = {Mauerwerk : European journal of masonry}, number = {Issue 3}, publisher = {Wiley}, address = {Weinheim}, issn = {1437-1022 (E-Journal); 1432-3427 (Print)}, doi = {10.1002/dama.201300575}, pages = {166 -- 171}, year = {2013}, language = {de} } @article{Bung2013, author = {Bung, Daniel B.}, title = {Non-intrusive detection of air-water surface roughness in self-aerated chute flows}, series = {Journal of hydraulic research}, volume = {Vol. 51}, journal = {Journal of hydraulic research}, number = {Iss. 3}, publisher = {Taylor \& Francis}, address = {London}, issn = {1814-2079 (E-Journal); 0022-1686 (Print)}, pages = {322 -- 329}, year = {2013}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{ButenwegNorda2013, author = {Butenweg, Christoph and Norda, Hannah}, title = {Nonlinear analysis of masonry structures according to Eurocode 8}, series = {Proceedings - Vienna Congress on Recent Advances in Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics 2013 (VEESD 2013)}, booktitle = {Proceedings - Vienna Congress on Recent Advances in Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics 2013 (VEESD 2013)}, editor = {Adam, Christoph and Heuer, Rudolf and Lenhardt, Wolfgang and Schranz, Christian}, isbn = {978-3-902749-04-8}, year = {2013}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{ZieglerSchuellerMottaghy2013, author = {Ziegler, M. and Sch{\"u}ller, R. and Mottaghy, Darius}, title = {Numerical simulation of energy consumption of artificial ground freezing applications subject to water seepage}, series = {Proceedings of the 18th International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, Paris 2013}, booktitle = {Proceedings of the 18th International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, Paris 2013}, pages = {2985 -- 2988}, year = {2013}, language = {en} } @article{EdipGarevskiButenwegetal.2013, author = {Edip, Kemal and Garevski, Mihail and Butenweg, Christoph and Sesov, Vlatko and Cvetanovska, Julijana and Gjorgiev, Igor}, title = {Numerical simulation of geotechnical problems by coupled finite and infinite elements}, series = {Journal of civil engineering and architecture}, volume = {7}, journal = {Journal of civil engineering and architecture}, number = {1}, publisher = {David Publishing}, address = {Libertyville}, issn = {1934-7359 (E-Journal)}, pages = {68 -- 77}, year = {2013}, language = {en} } @book{AppelBraehlerBreueretal.2013, author = {Appel, Wolfgang and Br{\"a}hler, Hermann and Breuer, Stefan and Dahlhaus, Ulrich and Esch, Thomas and Hoepke, Erich and Kopp, Stephan and Rhein, Bernd}, title = {Nutzfahrzeugtechnik : Grundlagen, Systeme, Komponenten. 7., {\"u}berarb. u. erw.
