Still these systems are not covering the full vehicle usage range, also called operational design domain, which require the human driver as fall-back mechanism. Transition of control and potential minimum risk manoeuvres are currently research topics and will bridge the gap until full autonomous vehicles are available. The authors showed in a demonstration that the transition of control mechanisms can be further improved by usage of communication technology. Receiving the incident type and position information by usage of standardised vehicle to everything (V2X) messages can improve the driver safety and comfort level. The connected and automated vehicle's software framework can take this information to plan areas where the driver should take back control by initiating a transition of control which can be followed by a minimum risk manoeuvre in case of an unresponsive driver. This transition of control has been implemented in a test vehicle and was presented to the public during the IEEE IV2022 (IEEE Intelligent Vehicle Symposium) in Aachen, Germany.}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{SchifferFerrein2015, author = {Schiffer, Stefan and Ferrein, Alexander}, title = {Decision-Theoretic Planning with Linguistic Terms in Golog}, series = {FLinAl 2015 - Fuzzy Logic in Artificial Intelligence : Proceedings of the Workshop on Fuzzy Logic in AI (FLinAI-15) co-located with the 24th International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI 2015) Buenos Aires, Argentina, July 25, 2015.}, booktitle = {FLinAl 2015 - Fuzzy Logic in Artificial Intelligence : Proceedings of the Workshop on Fuzzy Logic in AI (FLinAI-15) co-located with the 24th International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI 2015) Buenos Aires, Argentina, July 25, 2015.}, issn = {1613-0073}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:0074-1424-4}, pages = {7 Seiten}, year = {2015}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{Kuperjans2000, author = {Kuperjans, Isabel}, title = {Decision-support-system for technical, economical and ecological design and evaluation of industrial energy systems}, series = {Industrial ecology and sustainability : conferences and workshops ; September 22 - 25, 1999, Troyes, France}, booktitle = {Industrial ecology and sustainability : conferences and workshops ; September 22 - 25, 1999, Troyes, France}, editor = {Bourg, Dominique and Erkman, Suren}, publisher = {Universit{\´e} de technologie de Troyes Gen{\`e}ve : Institute for communication and analysis of science and technology}, address = {[Troyes]}, pages = {1 CD-ROM}, year = {2000}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{ButenwegMarinkovic2018, author = {Butenweg, Christoph and Marinkovic, Marko}, title = {Damage reduction system for masonry infill walls under seismic loading}, series = {ce/papers}, volume = {2}, booktitle = {ce/papers}, number = {4}, publisher = {Ernst \& Sohn Verlag}, address = {Berlin}, doi = {10.1002/cepa.863}, pages = {267 -- 273}, year = {2018}, abstract = {Reinforced concrete (RC) frames with masonry infills are frequently used in seismic regions all over the world. Generally masonry infills are considered as nonstructural elements and thus are typically neglected in the design process. However, the observations made after strong earthquakes have shown that masonry infills can modify the dynamic behavior of the structure significantly. The consequences were total collapses of buildings and loss of human lives. This paper presents the new system INODIS (Innovative Decoupled Infill System) developed within the European research project INSYSME (Innovative Systems for Earthquake Resistant Masonry Enclosures in RC Buildings). INODIS decouples the frame and the masonry infill by means of special U-shaped rubbers placed in between frame and infill. The effectiveness of the system was investigated by means of full scale tests on RC frames with masonry infills subjected to in-plane and out-of-plane loading. Furthermore small specimen tests were conducted to determine material characteristics of the components and the resistances of the connections. Finally, a micromodel was developed to simulate the in-plane behavior of RC frames infilled with AAC blocks with and without installation of the INODIS system.}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{KoenigWolf2018, author = {K{\"o}nig, Johannes Alexander and Wolf, Martin}, title = {Cybersecurity awareness training provided by the competence developing game GHOST}, series = {ACHI 2018 : The Eleventh International Conference on Advances in Computer-Human Interactions}, booktitle = {ACHI 2018 : The Eleventh International Conference on Advances in Computer-Human Interactions}, isbn = {978-1-61208-616-3}, pages = {81 -- 87}, year = {2018}, abstract = {This paper introduces a Competence Developing Game (CDG) for the purpose of a cybersecurity awareness training for businesses. The star design is an innovative receiver design, pursuing this approach. The unconventional design leads to new challenges in controlling the system. This paper presents a control concept for a molten salt receiver system in star design. The control parameters are optimized in a defined test cycle by minimizing a cost function. The control concept is tested in realistic cloud passage scenarios based on real weather data. These demonstration prototypes are usually too fragile and error-prone to be transferred easily into productive environments. A lot of additional work is required. Inspired by the idea of an incremental delivery process, we introduce an architecture pattern, which combines the approach of Metrics Driven Research Collaboration with microservices for the ease of integration. It enables keeping track of project goals over the course of the collaboration while every party may focus on their expert skills: researchers may focus on complex algorithms, practitioners may focus on their business goals. Through the simplified integration (intermediate) research results can be introduced into a productive environment which enables getting an early user feedback and allows for the early evaluation of different approaches.
