  abstract  = {Momentan finden in vielen Branchen umfassende Ver{\"a}nderungen von M{\"a}rkten und Wertsch{\"o}pfungsketten statt, welche auch als Digitale Transformation bezeichnet werden. In diesem Zusammenhang wird das Internet der Dinge (Internet of Things, IoT) als ein wichtiger technischer Enabler der Ver{\"a}nderungen angesehen. Prim{\"a}re Ziele des IoT sind die Steuerung physischer Gegen-st{\"a}nde aus der Distanz und das Erfassen von Informationen aus dem Umfeld dieser Gegenst{\"a}nde. Welche neuen Gesch{\"a}fts-bzw. Partnermodelle entstehen durch die gemeinsame Nutzung von IoT-Daten und Big-Data-Technologien und welcher qualitative Mehrwert wird dadurch geschaffen? Als Antwort wird in diesem Beitrag ein Bewertungsrahmen zur qualitativen Wertsch{\"o}pfungsanalyse von IoT vorgeschlagen. Anhand dieses Bewertungsrahmens wird ein Anwendungsfall untersucht, der in anonymisierter Form an konkrete Praxisprojekte angelehnt ist. Konkret wird ein Anwendungsfall betrachtet, der eine Abfallwirtschaft 2.0 basierend auf dem Einsatz von IoT vorschl{\"a}gt. Aus den Untersuchungsergebnissen gehen beispielsweise Erkenntnisse hervor, wie Gesch{\"a}ftsmodelle auf Basis eines unentgeltlichen Informationsaustauschs durch IoT gestaltet werden k{\"o}nnen.},

  abstract  = {Die Oberfl{\"a}chen dentaler Implantate sind definiert durch eine raue Oberfl{\"a}che, um die Integration in den menschlichen Knochen zu optimieren. Entz{\"u}ndungen des umgebenden Zahnfleisches z{\"a}hlen dabei zu den h{\"a}ufigsten Komplikationen nach einer Implantation. Diese Entz{\"u}ndungen entstehen haupts{\"a}chlich durch bakterielle Infektionen des Weichgewebes an der Implantations-Stelle. Die raue Oberfl{\"a}che tr{\"a}gt jedoch zu einer solchen Infektion bei. Da der Implantat-Kopf zum Teil aus dem Knochen herausragt, erfolgt beispielsweise beim Z{\"a}hneputzen eine Freilegung der Implantat-Oberfl{\"a}che. Die durch die Rauheit vergr{\"o}ßerte Oberfl{\"a}che bietet dabei ideale Voraussetzungen f{\"u}r eine Bakterienansiedlung. In der aktuellen Forschung steht die Entwicklung einer Oberfl{\"a}che im Vordergrund, die eine antibakterielle Funktionalisierung erzeugt. Diese verhindert die Bakterienansiedlung und wirkt einer Entz{\"u}ndung entgegen. Um die Beschichtung vor Verschleiß zu sch{\"u}tzen und ihre Lebensdauer der antibakteriellen Wirkung zu erh{\"o}hen, ist es m{\"o}glich die Oberfl{\"a}che mit einer Mikrostruktur zu versehen. Das Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist die Identifikation geeigneter Mikrostrukturierungen, die der antibakteriellen Beschichtung einen optimalen Schutz vor Verschleiß bieten. Am Beispiel von Titan-Zahnimplantaten wird der Schutz der aufgetragenen Biohybridbeschichtung gegen abrasiven Verschleiß untersucht. Im Vorfeld wird eine Analyse der fertigungstechnischen M{\"o}glichkeiten mit Blick auf dentale Implantate und Mikrostrukturen durchgef{\"u}hrt, um das ein passendes Verfahren zu identifizieren. Die Analogiebauteile als Probenk{\"o}rper werden, mithilfe des zuvor ausgew{\"a}hlten Verfahrens, mit verschiedenen Mikrostrukturen versehen. Im Rahmen einer Versuchsdurchf{\"u}hrung, die die mechanische Belastung bei einem Zahnputzdurchgang imitiert, werden die verschiedenen Mikrostrukturen auf ihre Eignung f{\"u}r diese Anwendung {\"u}berpr{\"u}ft. Ein Vorversuch dient zur Identifizierung eines geeigneten Ankerpeptids, welches den bindenden Bestandteil der Biohybridbeschichtung darstellt. Aus drei zuvor ausgew{\"a}hlten Ankerpeptiden wird das mit der besten Adh{\"a}sionsf{\"a}higkeit herausgestellt. Im finalen Versuchsdurchlauf wird das Ankerpeptid auf die Oberfl{\"a}chen, die mit den Mikrostrukturen versehen sind, aufgetragen. Dabei ist das Ziel eine Mikrostruktur herauszustellen, die den h{\"o}chstm{\"o}glichen Schutz bietet. Durch eine Fluoreszenzpr{\"u}fung mithilfe eines Flourescence Plate Readers wird jede Kombination nach den Belastungsversuchen auf den Restanteil der Beschichtung {\"u}berpr{\"u}ft. Das Ergebnis stellt eine Mikrostruktur dar, die den bestm{\"o}glichen Schutz bietet. Dies ist erkennbar durch den h{\"o}chsten Anteil an Restbeschichtung. Eine Strukturierung mit sogenannten Micro-Grooves in Kombination mit dem MacHis-Ankerpeptid erzielte in der Analyse der Belastungssimulationen die besten Ergebnisse bez{\"u}glich des Schutzes der Beschichtung. Durch die Versuche best{\"a}tigte sich eine weitere Annahme. Die Strukturierung der Oberfl{\"a}che erzielt einen deutlich h{\"o}heren Schutz im Vergleich zu einer unstrukturierten Oberfl{\"a}che. Zudem hat sich herausgestellt, dass eine Beschichtung mit dem sogenannten PEO-Verfahren eine deutlich gr{\"o}ßere Adh{\"a}sion der Biohybridbeschichtung erzielt. Dies wird jedoch Thema weiterf{\"u}hrender Forschungen sein und kein Bestandteil der vorliegenden Arbeit.},

  abstract  = {Muscle function is compromised by gravitational unloading in space affecting overall musculoskeletal health. Astronauts perform daily exercise programmes to mitigate these effects but knowing which muscles to target would optimise effectiveness. Accurate inflight assessment to inform exercise programmes is critical due to lack of technologies suitable for spaceflight. Changes in mechanical properties indicate muscle health status and can be measured rapidly and non-invasively using novel technology. A hand-held MyotonPRO device enabled monitoring of muscle health for the first time in spaceflight (> 180 days). Greater/maintained stiffness indicated countermeasures were effective. Tissue stiffness was preserved in the majority of muscles (neck, shoulder, back, thigh) but Tibialis Anterior (foot lever muscle) stiffness decreased inflight vs. preflight (p < 0.0001; mean difference 149 N/m) in all 12 crewmembers. The calf muscles showed opposing effects, Gastrocnemius increasing in stiffness Soleus decreasing. Selective stiffness decrements indicate lack of preservation despite daily inflight countermeasures. This calls for more targeted exercises for lower leg muscles with vital roles as ankle joint stabilizers and in gait. Muscle stiffness is a digital biomarker for risk monitoring during future planetary explorations (Moon, Mars), for healthcare management in challenging environments or clinical disorders in people on Earth, to enable effective tailored exercise programmes.},

  abstract  = {In this paper, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were incorporated in penicillinase-phospholipid Langmuir and Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films to enhance the enzyme catalytic properties. Adsorption of the penicillinase and CNTs at dimyristoylphosphatidic acid (DMPA) monolayers at the air-water interface was investigated by surface pressure-area isotherms, vibrational spectroscopy, and Brewster angle microscopy. The floating monolayers were transferred to solid supports through the LB technique, forming mixed DMPA-CNTs-PEN films, which were investigated by quartz crystal microbalance, vibrational spectroscopy, and atomic force microscopy. Enzyme activity was studied with UV-vis spectroscopy and the feasibility of the supramolecular device nanostructured as ultrathin films were essayed in a capacitive electrolyte-insulator-semiconductor (EIS) sensor device. The presence of CNTs in the enzyme-lipid LB film not only tuned the catalytic activity of penicillinase but also helped conserve its enzyme activity after weeks, showing increased values of activity. Viability as penicillin sensor was demonstrated with capacitance/voltage and constant capacitance measurements, exhibiting regular and distinctive output signals over all concentrations used in this work. These results may be related not only to the nanostructured system provided by the film, but also to the synergism between the compounds on the active layer, leading to a surface morphology that allowed a fast analyte diffusion because of an adequate molecular accommodation, which also preserved the penicillinase activity. This work therefore demonstrates the feasibility of employing LB films composed of lipids, CNTs, and enzymes as EIS devices for biosensing applications.},

  abstract  = {In addition to electromobility and alternative drive systems, a focus is set on electrically driven compressors (EDC), with a high potential for increasing the efficiency of internal combustion engines (ICE) and fuel cells [01]. The primary objective is to increase the ICE torque, provided independently of the ICE speed by compressing the intake air and consequently the ICE filling level supported by the compressor. For operation independent from the ICE speed, the EDC compressor is decoupled from the turbine by using an electric compressor motor (CM) instead of the turbine. ICE performances can be increased by the use of EDC where individual compressor parameters are adapted to the respective application area [02] [03]. This task contains great challenges, increased by demands with regard to pollutant reduction while maintaining constant performance and reduced fuel consumption. The FH-Aachen is equipped with an EDC test bench which enables EDC-investigations in various configurations and operating modes. Characteristic properties of different compressors can be determined, which build the basis for a comparison methodology. Subject of this project is the development of a comparison methodology for EDC with an associated evaluation method and a defined overall evaluation method. For the application of this comparison methodology, corresponding series of measurements are carried out on the EDC test bench using an appropriate test device.},

  abstract  = {In this work, the effect of low air relative humidity on the operation of a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell is investigated. An innovative method through performing in situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy is utilised to quantify the effect of inlet air relative humidity at the cathode side on internal ionic resistances and output voltage of the fuel cell. In addition, algorithms are developed to analyse the electrochemical characteristics of the fuel cell. For the specific fuel cell stack used in this study, the membrane resistance drops by over 39 \% and the cathode side charge transfer resistance decreases by 23 \% after increasing the humidity from 30 \% to 85 \%, while the results of static operation also show an increase of ∼2.2 \% in the voltage output after increasing the relative humidity from 30 \% to 85 \%. In dynamic operation, visible drying effects occur at < 50 \% relative humidity, whereby the increase of the air side stoichiometry increases the drying effects. Furthermore, other parameters, such as hydrogen humidification, internal stack structure, and operating parameters like stoichiometry, pressure, and temperature affect the overall water balance. Therefore, the optimal humidification range must be determined by considering all these parameters to maximise the fuel cell performance and durability. The results of this study are used to develop a health management system to ensure sufficient humidification by continuously monitoring the fuel cell polarisation data and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy indicators.},

Guided by a critical literature review, in this paper an overview of Health management systems classified in a scheme is presented, introducing commonly utilised methods to diagnose FCs in various applications. In this novel scheme, various Health management system methods are summarised and structured to provide an overview of existing systems including their associated tools. These systems are classified into four categories mainly focused on model-based and non-model-based systems. The individual methods are critically discussed when used individually or combined aimed at further understanding their functionality and suitability in different applications. Additionally, a tool is introduced to evaluate methods from each category based on the scheme presented. This tool applies the technique of matrix evaluation utilising several key parameters to identify the most appropriate methods for a given application. Based on this evaluation, the most suitable methods for each specific application are combined to build an integrated Health management system.},

  abstract  = {This paper describes the development of a capacitively coupled high-pressure lamp with input power between 20 and 43 W at 2.45 GHz, using a coaxial line network. Compared with other electrodeless lamp systems, no cavity has to be used and a reduction in the input power is achieved. Therefore, this lamp is an alternative to the halogen incandescent lamp for domestic lighting. To serve the demands of domestic lighting, the filling of the lamp is optimized over all other resulting requirements, such as high efficacy at low induced powers and fast startups. A workflow to develop RF-driven plasma applications is presented, which makes use of the hot S-parameter technique. Descriptions of the fitting process inside a circuit and FEM simulator are given. Results of the combined ignition and operation network from simulations and measurements are compared. An initial prototype is built and measurements of the lamp's lighting properties are presented along with an investigation of the efficacy optimizations using large signal amplitude modulation. With this lamp, an efficacy of 135 lmW -1 is achieved.},

  abstract  = {A novel method to determine the extruded length of a metallic wire for a directed energy deposition (DED) process using a microwave (MW) plasma jet with a straight-through wire feed is presented. The method is based on the relative comparison of the measured frequency response obtained by the large-signal scattering parameter (Hot-S) technique. In the practical working range, repeatability of less than 6\% for a nonactive plasma and 9\% for the active plasma state is found. Measurements are conducted with a focus on a simple solution to decrease the processing time and reduce the integration time of the process into the existing hardware. It is shown that monitoring a single frequency for magnitude and phase changes is sufficient to achieve good accuracy. A combination of different measurement values to determine the length is possible. The applicability to different diameter of the same material is shown as well as a contact detection of the wire and metallic substrate.},

  abstract  = {With the increased interest for interstellar exploration after the discovery of exoplanets and the proposal by Breakthrough Starshot, this paper investigates the optimisation of photon-sail trajectories in Alpha Centauri. The prime objective is to find the optimal steering strategy for a photonic sail to get captured around one of the stars after a minimum-time transfer from Earth. By extending the idea of the Breakthrough Starshot project with a deceleration phase upon arrival, the mission's scientific yield will be increased. As a secondary objective, transfer trajectories between the stars and orbit-raising manoeuvres to explore the habitable zones of the stars are investigated. All trajectories are optimised for minimum time of flight using the trajectory optimisation software InTrance. Depending on the sail technology, interstellar travel times of 77.6-18,790 years can be achieved, which presents an average improvement of 30\% with respect to previous work. Still, significant technological development is required to reach and be captured in the Alpha-Centauri system in less than a century. Therefore, a fly-through mission arguably remains the only option for a first exploratory mission to Alpha Centauri, but the enticing results obtained in this work provide perspective for future long-residence missions to our closest neighbouring star system.},

  abstract  = {F{\"u}r die Verarbeitung von nat{\"u}rlicher Sprache ist ein wichtiger Zwischenschritt das Parsing, bei dem f{\"u}r S{\"a}tze der nat{\"u}rlichen Sprache Ableitungsb{\"a}ume bestimmt werden. Dieses Verfahren ist vergleichbar zum Parsen formaler Sprachen, wie z. B. das Parsen eines Quelltextes. Die Parsing-Methoden der formalen Sprachen, z. B. Bottom-up-Parser, k{\"o}nnen nicht auf das Parsen der nat{\"u}rlichen Sprache {\"u}bertragen werden, da keine Formalisierung der nat{\"u}rlichen Sprachen existiert [3, 12, 23, 30]. In den ersten Programmen, die nat{\"u}rliche Sprache verarbeiten [32, 41], wurde versucht die nat{\"u}rliche Sprache mit festen Regelmengen zu verarbeiten. Dieser Ansatz stieß jedoch schnell an seine Grenzen, da die Regelmenge nicht vollst{\"a}ndig sowie nicht minimal ist und wegen der ben{\"o}tigten Menge an Regeln schwer zu verwalten ist. Die Korpuslinguistik [22] bot die M{\"o}glichkeit, die Regelmenge durch Supervised-Machine-Learning-Verfahren [2] abzul{\"o}sen. Teil der Korpuslinguistik ist es, große Textkorpora zu erstellen und diese mit sprachlichen Strukturen zu annotieren. Zu diesen Strukturen geh{\"o}ren sowohl die Wortarten als auch die Ableitungsb{\"a}ume der S{\"a}tze. Vorteil dieser Methodik ist es, dass repr{\"a}sentative Daten zur Verf{\"u}gung stehen. Diese Daten werden genutzt, um mit Supervised-Machine-Learning-Verfahren die Gesetzm{\"a}ßigkeiten der nat{\"u}rliche Sprachen zu erlernen. Das Maximum-Entropie-Verfahren ist ein Supervised-Machine-Learning-Verfahren, das genutzt wird, um nat{\"u}rliche Sprache zu erlernen. Ratnaparkhi [25] nutzt Maximum-Entropie, um Ableitungsb{\"a}ume f{\"u}r S{\"a}tze der nat{\"u}rlichen Sprache zu erlernen. Dieses Verfahren macht es m{\"o}glich, die nat{\"u}rliche Sprache (abgebildet als Σ∗) trotz einer fehlenden formalen Grammatik zu parsen.},
