  abstract  = {In this paper, the use of reinforcement learning (RL) in control systems is investigated using a rotatory inverted pendulum as an example. The control behavior of an RL controller is compared to that of traditional LQR and MPC controllers. This is done by evaluating their behavior under optimal conditions, their disturbance behavior, their robustness and their development process. All the investigated controllers are developed using MATLAB and the Simulink simulation environment and later deployed to a real pendulum model powered by a Raspberry Pi. The RL algorithm used is Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO). The LQR controller exhibits an easy development process, an average to good control behavior and average to good robustness. A linear MPC controller could show excellent results under optimal operating conditions. However, when subjected to disturbances or deviations from the equilibrium point, it showed poor performance and sometimes instable behavior. Employing a nonlinear MPC Controller in real time was not possible due to the high computational effort involved. The RL controller exhibits by far the most versatile and robust control behavior. When operated in the simulation environment, it achieved a high control accuracy. When employed in the real system, however, it only shows average accuracy and a significantly greater performance loss compared to the simulation than the traditional controllers. With MATLAB, it is not yet possible to directly post-train the RL controller on the Raspberry Pi, which is an obstacle to the practical application of RL in a prototyping or teaching setting. Nevertheless, RL in general proves to be a flexible and powerful control method, which is well suited for complex or nonlinear systems where traditional controllers struggle.},

  abstract  = {Time-of-flight (ToF) sensors have become an alternative to conventional distance sensing techniques like laser scanners or image based stereo. ToF sensors provide full range distance information at high frame-rates and thus have a significant impact onto current research in areas like online object recognition, collision prevention or scene reconstruction. However, ToF cameras like the photonic mixer device (PMD) still exhibit a number of challenges regarding static and dynamic effects, e.g. systematic distance errors and motion artefacts, respectively. Sensor calibration techniques reducing static system errors have been proposed and show promising results. However, current calibration techniques in general need a large set of reference data in order to determine the corresponding parameters for the calibration model. This paper introduces a new calibration approach which combines different demodulation techniques for the ToF- camera 's reference signal. Examples show, that the resulting combined demodulation technique yields improved distance values based on only two required reference data sets.},

  abstract  = {Das vorgestellte System zu Wireless CAN bietet die M{\"o}glichkeit, CAN kabellos zu {\"u}bertragen. Beide vorgestellten und entwickelten Konzepte funktionieren korrekt und erm{\"o}glichen den Auf-bau von kabellosen CAN Schnittstellen. Durch den kleinen Aufbau kann diese Technologie auch f{\"u}r eingebettete Systeme verwendet werden. Zudem bietet dieser Ansatz die M{\"o}glichkeit, durch die Entwicklung von geeigneten ICs die Gr{\"o}ße des Systems bis auf Bauteilgr{\"o}ße zu reduzieren, um eine noch bessere Integration in eingebettete Systeme zu erm{\"o}glichen. Dadurch wird die Technologie attraktiv f{\"u}r Einsatzgebiete, wo die oben aufgelisteten Vorteile zum Tragen kommen k{\"o}nnen.   abstract  = {Obwohl es eine Vielzahl von Einf{\"u}hrungskonzepten f{\"u}r ITSM gibt, hat sich bisher keines dieser Konzepte auf breiter Linie durchgesetzt. Das gilt in erh{\"o}htem Maße f{\"u}r ITSM-Einf{\"u}hrungskonzepte f{\"u}r KMU, wohl nicht zuletzt aufgrund der Tatsache, dass der Mehrwert von ITSM f{\"u}r KMU aufgrund der geringeren Gr{\"o}ße der IT-Organisationen nur entsprechend schwieriger generiert werden kann. Mit diesem Beitrag wird ein Einf{\"u}hrungskonzept f{\"u}r ITSM in KMU systematisch hergeleitet. Daf{\"u}r wurden zun{\"a}chst die Treiber und Barrieren von ITSM untersucht, um daraus ein umfassendes Wirkmodell zu entwickeln. Da mit diesem Wirkungsmodell die Einflussfaktoren auf den Erfolg von ITSM in KMU deutlich werden, konnte auf dieser Basis ein Einf{\"u}hrungskonzept abgeleitet werden, welches insbesondere die positiven Effekte unterst{\"u}tzt bzw. verst{\"a}rkt.},

While 100\% QC requires every part to be inspected, this task can be reduced when a human-in-the-loop QC process gets supported by an anomaly detection system that only presents those parts for manual inspection that have a significant likelihood of being defective.   abstract  = {This article introduces a new maritime search and rescue system based on S-band illumination harmonic radar (HR). Passive and active tags have been developed and tested attached to life jackets and a rescue boat. This system was able to detect and range the active tags up to a range of 5800 m in tests on the Baltic Sea with an antenna input power of only 100 W. All electronic GHz components of the system, excluding the S-band power amplifier, were custom developed for this purpose. Special attention is given to the performance and conceptual differences between passive and active tags used in the system and integration with a maritime X-band navigation radar is demonstrated.},

Die automatisierte {\"U}berwachung von Endger{\"a}ten ist jedoch rechtlich und ethisch komplex. Dies in Kombination mit einer hohen Sensibilit{\"a}t der Nutzer und Nutzerinnen dieser Ger{\"a}te in Bezug auf Privatsph{\"a}re, kann zu einer geringen Akzeptanz und Compliance f{\"u}hren.   abstract  = {In this paper we present SMART-FACTORY, a setup for a research and teaching facility in industrial robotics that is based on the RoboCup Logistics League. It is driven by the need for developing and applying solutions for digital production. Digitization receives constantly increasing attention in many areas, especially in industry. The common theme is to make things smart by using intelligent computer technology. Especially in the last decade there have been many attempts to improve existing processes in factories, for example, in production logistics, also with deploying cyber-physical systems. An initiative that explores challenges and opportunities for robots in such a setting is the RoboCup Logistics League. Since its foundation in 2012 it is an international effort for research and education in an intra-warehouse logistics scenario. During seven years of competition a lot of knowledge and experience regarding autonomous robots was gained. This knowledge and experience shall provide the basis for further research in challenges of future production. The focus of our SMART-FACTORY is to create a stimulating environment for research on logistics robotics, for teaching activities in computer science and electrical engineering programmes as well as for industrial users to study and explore the feasibility of future technologies. Building on a very successful history in the RoboCup Logistics League we aim to provide stakeholders with a dedicated facility oriented at their individual needs.},

  abstract  = {In addition to the technical content, modern courses at university should also teach professional skills to enhance the competencies of students towards their future work. The competency driven approach including technical as well as professional skills makes it necessary to find a suitable way for the integration into the corresponding module in a scalable and flexible manner. Agile development, for example, is essential for the development of modern systems and applications and makes use of dedicated professional skills of the team members, like structured group dynamics and communication, to enable the fast and reliable development. This paper presents an easy to integrate and flexible approach to integrate Scrum, an agile development method, into the lab of an existing module. Due to the different role models of Scrum the students have an individual learning success, gain valuable insight into modern system development and strengthen their communication and organization skills. The approach is implemented and evaluated in the module Vehicle Systems, but it can be transferred easily to other technical courses as well. The evaluation of the implementation considers feedback of all stakeholders, students, supervisor and lecturers, and monitors the observations during project lifetime.},
