  abstract  = {The recent amendment to the Ethernet physical layer known as the IEEE 802.3cg specification, allows to connect devices up to a distance of one kilometer and delivers a maximum of 60 watts of power over a twisted pair of wires. This new standard, also known as 10BASE-TIL, promises to overcome the limits of current physical layers used for field devices and bring them a step closer to Ethernet-based applications. The main advantage of 10BASE- TIL is that it can deliver power and data over the same line over a long distance, where traditional solutions (e.g., CAN, IO-Link, HART) fall short and cannot match its 10 Mbps bandwidth. Due to its recentness, IOBASE- TIL is still not integrated into field devices and it has been less than two years since silicon manufacturers released the first Ethernet-PHY chips. In this paper, we present a design proposal on how field devices could be integrated into a IOBASE-TIL smart switch that allows plug-and-play connectivity for sensors and actuators and is compliant with the Industry 4.0 vision. Instead of presenting a new field-level protocol for this work, we have decided to adopt the IO-Link specification which already includes a plug-and-play approach with features such as diagnosis and device configuration. The main objective of this work is to explore how field devices could be integrated into 10BASE-TIL Ethernet, its adaption with a well-known protocol, and its integration with Industry 4.0 technologies.},

  abstract  = {The development of protype applications with sensors and actuators in the automation industry requires tools that are independent of manufacturer, and are flexible enough to be modified or extended for any specific requirements. Currently, developing prototypes with industrial sensors and actuators is not straightforward. First of all, the exchange of information depends on the industrial protocol that these devices have. Second, a specific configuration and installation is done based on the hardware that is used, such as automation controllers or industrial gateways. This means that the development for a specific industrial protocol, highly depends on the hardware and the software that vendors provide. In this work we propose a rapid-prototyping framework based on Arduino to solve this problem. For this project we have focused to work with the IO-Link protocol. The framework consists of an Arduino shield that acts as the physical layer, and a software that implements the IO-Link Master protocol. The main advantage of such framework is that an application with industrial devices can be rapid-prototyped with ease as its vendor independent, open-source and can be ported easily to other Arduino compatible boards. In comparison, a typical approach requires proprietary hardware, is not easy to port to another system and is closed-source.},

  abstract  = {One central challenge for self-driving cars is a proper path-planning. Once a trajectory has been found, the next challenge is to accurately and safely follow the precalculated path. The model-predictive controller (MPC) is a common approach for the lateral control of autonomous vehicles. The MPC uses a vehicle dynamics model to predict the future states of the vehicle for a given prediction horizon. However, in order to achieve real-time path control, the computational load is usually large, which leads to short prediction horizons. To deal with the computational load, the control algorithm can be parallelized on the graphics processing unit (GPU). In contrast to the widely used stochastic methods, in this paper we propose a deterministic approach based on grid search. Our approach focuses on systematically discovering the search area with different levels of granularity. To achieve this, we split the optimization algorithm into multiple iterations. The best sequence of each iteration is then used as an initial solution to the next iteration. The granularity increases, resulting in smooth and predictable steering angle sequences. We present a novel GPU-based algorithm and show its accuracy and realtime abilities with a number of real-world experiments.},

  abstract  = {A laser-enhanced solar sail is a solar sail that is not solely propelled by solar radiation but additionally by a laser beam that illuminates the sail. This way, the propulsive acceleration of the sail results from the combined action of the solar and the laser radiation pressure onto the sail. The potential source of the laser beam is a laser satellite that coverts solar power (in the inner solar system) or nuclear power (in the outer solar system) into laser power. Such a laser satellite (or many of them) can orbit anywhere in the solar system and its optimal orbit (or their optimal orbits) for a given mission is a subject for future research. This contribution provides the model for an ideal laser-enhanced solar sail and investigates how a laser can enhance the thrusting capability of such a sail. The term "ideal" means that the solar sail is assumed to be perfectly reflecting and that the laser beam is assumed to have a constant areal power density over the whole sail area. Since a laser beam has a limited divergence, it can provide radiation pressure at much larger solar distances and increase the radiation pressure force into the desired direction. Therefore, laser-enhanced solar sails may make missions feasible, that would otherwise have prohibitively long flight times, e.g. rendezvous missions in the outer solar system. This contribution will also analyze exemplary mission scenarios and present optimial trajectories without laying too much emphasis on the design and operations of the laser satellites. If the mission studies conclude that laser-enhanced solar sails would have advantages with respect to "traditional" solar sails, a detailed study of the laser satellites and the whole system architecture would be the second next step},

  abstract  = {The objective of this study is the establishment of a differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) based method for online analysis of the biodegradation of polymers in complex environments. Structural changes during biodegradation, such as an increase in brittleness or crystallinity, can be detected by carefully observing characteristic changes in DSC profiles. Until now, DSC profiles have not been used to draw quantitative conclusions about biodegradation. A new method is presented for quantifying the biodegradation using DSC data, whereby the results were validated using two reference methods. The proposed method is applied to evaluate the biodegradation of three polymeric biomaterials: polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB), cellulose acetate (CA) and Organosolv lignin. The method is suitable for the precise quantification of the biodegradability of PHB. For CA and lignin, conclusions regarding their biodegradation can be drawn with lower resolutions. The proposed method is also able to quantify the biodegradation of blends or composite materials, which differentiates it from commonly used degradation detection methods.},

  abstract  = {Die stoffliche Nutzung von Lignin aus Bioraffinerien ist ein wichtiger Bestandteil f{\"u}r den Wertsch{\"o}pfungsprozess von nachwachsenden, pflanzlichen Rohstoffen. Lignin z{\"a}hlt zu den wenigen erneuerbaren Quellen f{\"u}r phenolische Bestandteile, wird aber derzeit meist nur thermisch verwertet. Ziel dieses Forschungsvorhabens ist die Funktionalisierung von Lignin zur Verbesserung der Adh{\"a}sionseigenschaften. Als funktionelle Gruppe wird die aromatische Aminos{\"a}ure L-DOPA verwendet, die charakteristisch f{\"u}r die Adh{\"a}sionskraft von Muscheln ist. Lignin ist ein geeignetes St{\"u}tzger{\"u}st, da es ein Polymer ist, das durch enzymkatalysierte Polymerisation gebildet wird. Essenziell f{\"u}r die Entwicklung ist ein besseres Verst{\"a}ndnis {\"u}ber die Bildung von Lignin-Polymeren und deren verschiedene Eigenschaften. Um die Einflussfaktoren auf Kettenl{\"a}nge und Polymerisationseffizienz zu untersuchen, werden zurzeit sowohl Ligninmodellkomponenten (LMK) als auch gel{\"o}stes Organosolv-Lignin verwendet. Laufende Untersuchungen werden zeigen, ob sich die enzymatische Polymerisationsreaktion auf ein gel{\"o}stes Ligninpolymer aus einem Organosolv-Aufschluss {\"u}bertragen l{\"a}sst.},

  abstract  = {Aufgrund von EU-Regularien und Umweltinitiativen w{\"a}chst der Markt f{\"u}r nachhaltige und abbaubare Klebstoffe stetig. Organosolv (OS)-Lignin ist ein kommerziell wenig ertragreicher Nebenstrom der Lignocellulose-Bioraffinerie. Durch das "Nachahmen" der Adh{\"a}sionseigenschaften mit strukturverwandten Muschel-Aminos{\"a}uren soll OS-Lignin in einen starkes, vollst{\"a}ndig biobasiertes Adh{\"a}siv umgewandelt werden. Funktionsweisend f{\"u}r die Adh{\"a}sion des Muschelklebstoffes ist die Catecholgruppe der Aminos{\"a}ure L-DOPA. Die laccase-katalysierte Polymerisationsreaktion von Lignin und L-DOPA ist schwierig zu kontrollieren, da L-DOPA eine Ringschlussreaktion eingeht. Stattdessen wurde eine zweistufige Reaktion mit einem Diamin als Ankermolek{\"u}l etabliert. Die Catecholgruppe, die im zweiten Schritt enzymatisch an das Lignin-Amin gebunden wird, kann durch Komplexbildung mit Fe(III)-Ionen sowohl zur Adh{\"a}sion als auch zur Koh{\"a}sion des Klebstoffes beitragen. Der Lignin-Catechol-Klebstoff ist frei von petrochemischen Chemikalien und biologisch abbaubar. In ersten Stirnzugversuchen konnte eine Haftkraft von 0,3 MPa erreicht werden.},

  abstract  = {Messenger apps like WhatsApp or Telegram are an integral part of daily communication. Besides the various positive effects, those services extend the operating range of criminals. Open trading groups with many thousand participants emerged on Telegram. Law enforcement agencies monitor suspicious users in such chat rooms. This research shows that text analysis, based on natural language processing, facilitates this through a meaningful domain overview and detailed investigations. We crawled a corpus from such self-proclaimed black markets and annotated five attribute types products, money, payment methods, user names, and locations. Based on each message a user sends, we extract and group these attributes to build profiles. Then, we build features to cluster the profiles. Pretrained word vectors yield better unsupervised clustering results than current state-of-the-art transformer models. The result is a semantically meaningful high-level overview of the user landscape of black market chatrooms. Additionally, the extracted structured information serves as a foundation for further data exploration, for example, the most active users or preferred payment methods.},

  abstract  = {Messenger apps like WhatsApp and Telegram are frequently used for everyday communication, but they can also be utilized as a platform for illegal activity. Telegram allows public groups with up to 200.000 participants. Criminals use these public groups for trading illegal commodities and services, which becomes a concern for law enforcement agencies, who manually monitor suspicious activity in these chat rooms. This research demonstrates how natural language processing (NLP) can assist in analyzing these chat rooms, providing an explorative overview of the domain and facilitating purposeful analyses of user behavior. We provide a publicly available corpus of annotated text messages with entities and relations from four self-proclaimed black market chat rooms. Our pipeline approach aggregates the extracted product attributes from user messages to profiles and uses these with their sold products as features for clustering. The extracted structured information is the foundation for further data exploration, such as identifying the top vendors or fine-granular price analyses. Our evaluation shows that pretrained word vectors perform better for unsupervised clustering than state-of-the-art transformer models, while the latter is still superior for sequence labeling.},

  abstract  = {Digital elevation models (DEMs), represent the three-dimensional terrain and are the basic input for numerical snow avalanche dynamics simulations. DEMs can be acquired using topographic maps or remote-sensing technologies, such as photogrammetry or lidar. Depending on the acquisition technique, different spatial resolutions and qualities are achieved. However, there is a lack of studies that investigate the sensitivity of snow avalanche simulation algorithms to the quality and resolution of DEMs. Here, we perform calculations using the numerical avalance dynamics model RAMMS, varying the quality and spatial resolution of the underlying DEMs, while holding the simulation parameters constant. We study both channelized and open-terrain avalanche tracks with variable roughness. To quantify the variance of these simulations, we use well-documented large-scale avalanche events from Davos, Switzerland (winter 2007/08), and from our large-scale avalanche test site, Valĺee de la Sionne (winter 2005/06). We find that the DEM resolution and quality is critical for modeled flow paths, run-out distances, deposits, velocities and impact pressures. Although a spatial resolution of ~25 m is sufficient for large-scale avalanche modeling, the DEM datasets must be checked carefully for anomalies and artifacts before using them for dynamics calculations.},

  abstract  = {Dieser Artikel befasst sich mit dem Investitionsdilemma in der Stromerzeugung, welches in unzureichend ausgestalteten liberalisierten Stromm{\"a}rkten zu einem gesamtwirtschaftlich unerw{\"u}nscht geringen Niveau an Versorgungssicherheit f{\"u}hrt. Die origin{\"a}ren Ursachen im deutschen Strommarkt liegen in einer eingeschr{\"a}nkten Schadenersatzpflicht der Lieferanten im Falle eines kapazit{\"a}tsbedingten Stromausfalls und in der zeitlichen Differenz zwischen letzter Handelsm{\"o}glichkeit und Lieferung. Letzteres verhindert ein jederzeitiges individuelles Glattstellen von unerwartet auftretenden Ein- bzw. Ausspeise{\"a}nderungen. Des Weiteren f{\"u}hren Faktoren wie die fehlende Partizipation der Endverbraucher am Großhandelsmarkt, die nur undifferenziert m{\"o}gliche Abschaltung von Endverbrauchern oder time lags durch lange Bau- und Genehmigungszeiten von Erzeugungskapazit{\"a}ten in Verbindung mit {\"u}ber lange Zeitr{\"a}ume nicht versicherbaren Risiken bez{\"u}glich Brennstoff-, CO2-Zertifikate- und Strompreisen zu einer Versch{\"a}rfung der Problematik. Sinnvolle L{\"o}sungsans{\"a}tze sind zum einen die Erh{\"o}hung der Intraday-Handelsliquidit{\"a}t zur Verbesserung der Marktr{\"a}umungsfunktion bis m{\"o}glichst kurz vor Stromlieferung, was z. B. durch eine F{\"o}rderung der Direktvermarktung Erneuerbarer Energien erreicht werden kann. Zum anderen tr{\"a}gt ein verst{\"a}rkter Ausbau von smart metern bei Endverbrauchern zu einer h{\"o}heren Versorgungssicherheit bei, da dies die Gl{\"a}ttung von Lastspitzen und die Artikulation der tats{\"a}chlichen Zahlungsbereitschaft von Endverbrauchern am Großhandelsmarkt erm{\"o}glicht.},

Dies gilt sowohl f{\"u}r die {\"o}konomische Theorie, die sich sehr intensiv damit auseinandersetzt und in den letzten Jahrzehnten zahlreiche neue Erkenntnisse gewonnen hat. Es gilt ebenso f{\"u}r die Politik, in der Regulierungsfragen kontrovers diskutiert werden und dies nicht nur unter {\"o}konomischen Gesichtspunkten. Es gilt selbstverst{\"a}ndlich f{\"u}r die regulierten Unternehmen selbst, deren T{\"a}tigkeit durch die staatlichen Regulierungsvorgaben markant beeinflusst wird. Nicht nur die konkreten Inhalte der Regulierungsregime sowie die verbleibenden Freiheitsgrade in der Ausgestaltung sind von Bedeutung, sondern ebenso die Umsetzung durch die Regulierungsbeh{\"o}rden. All dies gilt f{\"u}r den Strommarkt und seinen regulatorischen Hintergrund in besonderer Weise. Die Entflechtung der Strom{\"u}bertragungsnetze von der Stromproduktion und damit die Vorgaben f{\"u}r die Organisation der Wertsch{\"o}pfungsketten in den Elektrizit{\"a}tsunternehmen sind seit dem Beginn des europ{\"a}ischen Liberalisierungsprozesses der Stromm{\"a}rkte ein wichtiges und kontrovers diskutiertes Regulierungselement. Den Fokus bildet das vertikale Unbundling, das letztlich die Diskriminierung von Wettbewerbern durch Anbieter mit aggregierten Wertsch{\"o}pfungsketten verhindern soll, indem diese gezwungen werden, ihren "Netzteil" anders zu organisieren oder zu verkaufen. Den Mitgliedsstaaten blieben Freir{\"a}ume in der Ausgestaltung, die in Deutschland erst vor kurzem konkretisiert wurden, und die f{\"u}r die regulierten Unternehmen die Nutzung eines Wahlrechts beinhalten. Hierzu z{\"a}hlen vor allem die Einf{\"u}hrung der {\"o}konomischen Gesetze des Wettbewerbsmarktes durch die Liberalisierung sowie die nun kostenpflichtige Ber{\"u}cksichtigung des bei der Stromerzeugung hervorgerufenen CO2-Ausstoßes durch die Einf{\"u}hrung des europ{\"a}ischen Emissionshandelssystems (EUTS). Die Folgen dieses Ver{\"a}nderungsprozesses lassen sich auf Grund der langen Investitionszyklen im Kraftwerksbau bisher nur unvollst{\"a}ndig {\"u}berblicken. Dies ist insbesondere im Hinblick auf die Versorgungssicherheit als Teil des energiewirtschaftlichen Zieldreiecks des \S 1 EnWG von großer Bedeutung. Dazu z{\"a}hlt insbesondere, ob die Versorgungssicherheit in Deutschland bei gegenw{\"a}rtigem Marktdesign auch dauerhaft gew{\"a}hrleistet sein wird. Es stellt sich heraus, dass es im Bereich der Spitzenlastkraftwerke zu Investitionen in gesamtwirtschaftlich zu geringen Umfang kommen kann. Dieses Investitionsdilemma beruht auf einem externen Effekt, der durch die aktuelle Ausgestaltung des deutschen Schadenersatzrechtes entsteht. Hierdurch ist die sichere Stromversorgung in Zeiten hoher Last potenziell gef{\"a}hrdet. Um die Wirkungen des Investitionsdilemmas abzumildern oder ganz zu beseitigen sind verschiedene Investitionsanreize durch entsprechende Ausgestaltung des EUTS denkbar. Diese werden im Einzelnen analysiert.},

  abstract  = {Nach der Bundestagswahl am 27. September 2009 steht der Atomausstieg in Deutschland wieder ganz oben auf der politischen Agenda. Eine aktuelle Bestandsaufnahme aller ma\geblichen Argumente erscheint somit zwingend notwendig. Dabei sollte der Blickwinkel nicht national beschr{\"a}nkt bleiben, sondern vor allem der Einfluss der europ{\"a}ischen Dimension dieser Thematik miteinbezogen werden. Auf europ{\"a}ischer Ebene zeigt sich eine Position zu Gunsten der Kernenergie. Unter den 27 EU-Staaten findet gerade eine Renaissance der Atomkraft statt. Die drei europ{\"a}ischen Organe bef{\"u}rworten den umfangreichen Einsatz der Kernenergie als langfristigen Bestandteil des Energietr{\"a}germix. Deutschland geh{\"o}rt mit seinem Beschluss zum Atomausstieg einer Minderheit an. Als Teil eines immer st{\"a}rker zusammen wachsenden und letztendlich vollst{\"a}ndig integrierten europ{\"a}ischen Strommarktes wird Deutschland langfristig stets mit Atomstrom versorgt werden. Dies gilt losgel{\"o}st von dem Einsatz von Kernkraftwerken im Inland. Eine Abschaltung der Anlagen f{\"u}hrt damit nicht zur Zielerreichung der Atomkraftgegner, sondern lediglich zu zus{\"a}tzlichen energietechnischen Herausforderungen bei der Sicherstellung der deutschen Stromversorgung. Der deutsche Atomausstieg sollte aus diesem Grund von der neuen Bundesregierung zur{\"u}ck genommen werden.},

Das System kann als Rucksack oder Fahrradtasche transportiert werden, wobei die Trainingsmatte als Verpackung dient.},

  abstract  = {Next-generation aircraft designs often incorporate multiple large propellers attached along the wingspan (distributed electric propulsion), leading to highly flexible dynamic systems that can exhibit aeroelastic instabilities. This paper introduces a validated methodology to investigate the aeroelastic instabilities of wing-propeller systems and to understand the dynamic mechanism leading to wing and whirl flutter and transition from one to the other. Factors such as nacelle positions along the wing span and chord and its propulsion system mounting stiffness are considered. Additionally, preliminary design guidelines are proposed for flutter-free wing-propeller systems applicable to novel aircraft designs. The study demonstrates how the critical speed of the wing-propeller systems is influenced by the mounting stiffness and propeller position. Weak mounting stiffnesses result in whirl flutter, while hard mounting stiffnesses lead to wing flutter. For the latter, the position of the propeller along the wing span may change the wing mode shapes and thus the flutter mechanism. Propeller positions closer to the wing tip enhance stability, but pusher configurations are more critical due to the mass distribution behind the elastic axis.},

These highly flexible dynamic systems can exhibit uncommon aeroelastic instabilities, which should be carefully investigated to ensure safe operation. The interaction between the propeller and the wing is of particular importance. It is known that whirl flutter is stabilized by wing motion and wing aerodynamics. This paper investigates the effect of a propeller onto wing flutter as a function of span position and mounting stiffness between the propeller and wing. The analysis of a comparison between a tractor and pusher configuration has shown that the coupled system is more stable than the standalone wing for propeller positions near the wing tip for both configurations. The wing fluttermechanism is mostly affected by the mass of the propeller and the resulting change in eigenfrequencies of the wing. For very weak mounting stiffnesses, whirl flutter occurs, which was shown to be stabilized compared to a standalone propeller due to wing motion. On the other hand, the pusher configuration is, as to be expected, the more critical configuration due to the attached mass behind the elastic axis.},

  abstract  = {Today's society is undergoing a paradigm shift driven by the megatrend of sustainability. This undeniably affects all areas of Western life. This paper aims to find out how the luxury industry is dealing with this change and what adjustments are made by the companies. For this purpose, interviews were conducted with managers from the luxury industry, in which they were asked about specific measures taken by their companies as well as trends in the industry. In a subsequent evaluation, the trends in the luxury industry were summarized for the areas of ecological, social, and economic sustainability. It was found that the area of environmental sustainability is significantly more focused than the other sub-areas. Furthermore, the need for a customer survey to validate the industry-based measures was identified.},
