  abstract  = {A microfluidic chip integrating amperometric enzyme sensors for the detection of glucose, glutamate and glutamine in cell-culture fermentation processes has been developed. The enzymes glucose oxidase, glutamate oxidase and glutaminase were immobilized by means of cross-linking with glutaraldehyde on platinum thin-film electrodes integrated within a microfluidic channel. The biosensor chip was coupled to a flow-injection analysis system for electrochemical characterization of the sensors. The sensors have been characterized in terms of sensitivity, linear working range and detection limit. The sensitivity evaluated from the respective peak areas was 1.47, 3.68 and 0.28 μAs/mM for the glucose, glutamate and glutamine sensor, respectively. The calibration curves were linear up to a concentration of 20 mM glucose and glutamine and up to 10 mM for glutamate. The lower detection limit amounted to be 0.05 mM for the glucose and glutamate sensor, respectively, and 0.1 mM for the glutamine sensor. Experiments in cell-culture medium have demonstrated a good correlation between the glutamate, glutamine and glucose concentrations measured with the chip-based biosensors in a differential-mode and the commercially available instrumentation. The obtained results demonstrate the feasibility of the realized microfluidic biosensor chip for monitoring of bioprocesses.},

  abstract  = {Real-time and reliable monitoring of the biogas process is crucial for a stable and efficient operation of biogas production in order to avoid digester breakdowns. The concentration of dissolved hydrogen (H₂) represents one of the key parameters for biogas process control. In this work, a one-chip integrated combined amperometric/field-effect sensor for monitoring the dissolved H₂ concentration has been developed for biogas applications. The combination of two different transducer principles might allow a more accurate and reliable measurement of dissolved H₂ as an early warning indicator of digester failures. The feasibility of the approach has been demonstrated by simultaneous amperometric/field-effect measurements of dissolved H₂ concentrations in electrolyte solutions. Both, the amperometric and the field-effect transducer show a linear response behaviour in the H₂ concentration range from 0.1 to 3\% (v/v) with a slope of 198.4 ± 13.7 nA/\% (v/v) and 14.9 ± 0.5 mV/\% (v/v), respectively.},

Doch leider ist von dieser Qualit{\"a}t im jetzigem Corporate Design noch nichts wiederzuerkennen. Die Arbeit nimmt sich dieser an und greift das f{\"u}r die Junkers Flugzeuge typische Wellblech auf. So wird ein signifikantes Unterscheidungsmerkmal zu anderen Technikmuseen dieser Art geschaffen. Durch die Kombination eines streng geordneten Liniensystems und einer sehr freien Anordnung der Bilder wird ein spannendes visuelles Auftreten geschaffen. Damit wird das Museum attraktiver f{\"u}r Besucher:Innen gestaltet und somit endlich der hochwertigen Arbeit gerecht, die die Mitglieder des Technikmuseums leisten.},

Damit gemeint ist die menschliche Gesundheitskompetenz, also die F{\"a}higkeit, mit gesundheitsrelevanten Informationen richtig umzugehen und daraus selbstbestimmte Entscheidungen in Gesundheitsfragen ableiten zu k{\"o}nnen. In dieser Arbeit wurden dazu wichtige Aspekte aus der Studie HLS-GER 1 interaktiv und erlebbar aufbereitet. Durch das ausgew{\"a}hlte Informationsdesign wird die Thematik zug{\"a}nglich gemacht und aufgezeigt, welche gravierenden Auswirkungen schlecht ausgebildete Health Literacy auf die Selbstbestimmtheit und Chancengleichheit der Menschen hat. "Health Literacy" legt den Finger in die Wunde und zeigt, dass vor allem im Bildungskontext noch sehr viel Handlungsbedarf ist.},

Der Krankheitsverlauf ist gepr{\"a}gt von pl{\"o}tzlichen, z.T. lebensbedrohlichen Verschlechterungen und Krankenhauseinweisungen, nach denen die Leistung des Herzen vermindert bleibt. Diese Dekompensationen lassen sich bisher im heimischen Umfeld nicht durch Messwerte vorhersehen. Dieses Ger{\"a}t bestimmt die Fl{\"u}ssigkeitsansammlungen in der Lunge, die ein mittelfristiges Symptom einer Dekompensation sind. Außerdem misst es {\"u}ber einen Hautsensor die im Schweiß enthaltene Menge eines Proteins, das bei {\"U}berdehnung des Herzmuskels vermehrt im Blutplasma zu finden ist. So k{\"o}nnen Dekompensationen bis zu zwei Wochen vor einem akuten Ereignis detektiert und behandelt werden. Außerdem gibt es tagesformabh{\"a}ngige Tipps f{\"u}r die Alltagsgestaltung mit der Erkrankung.},

  abstract  = {The structure of the female pelvic floor (PF) is an inter-related system of bony pelvis,muscles, pelvic organs, fascias, ligaments, and nerves with multiple functions. Mechanically, thepelvic organ support system are of two types: (I) supporting system of the levator ani (LA) muscle,and (II) the suspension system of the endopelvic fascia condensation [1], [2]. Significantdenervation injury to the pelvic musculature, depolimerization of the collagen fibrils of the softvaginal hammock, cervical ring and ligaments during pregnancy and vaginal delivery weakens thenormal functions of the pelvic floor. Pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence, sexual dysfunction aresome of the dysfunctions which increases progressively with age and menopause due toweakened support system according to the Integral theory [3]. An improved 3D finite elementmodel of the female pelvic floor as shown in Fig. 1 is constructed that: (I) considers the realisticsupport of the organs to the pelvic side walls, (II) employs the improvement of our previous FEmodel [4], [5] along with the patient based geometries, (III) incorporates the realistic anatomy andboundary conditions of the endopelvic (pubocervical and rectovaginal) fascia, and (IV) considersvarying stiffness of the endopelvic fascia in the craniocaudal direction [3]. Several computationsare carried out on the presented computational model with healthy and damaged supportingtissues, and comparisons are made to understand the physiopathology of the female PF disorders.},

  abstract  = {The discovery of human induced pluripotent stem cells reprogrammed from somatic cells [1] and their ability to differentiate into cardiomyocytes (hiPSC-CMs) has provided a robust platform for drug screening [2]. Drug screenings are essential in the development of new components, particularly for evaluating the potential of drugs to induce life-threatening pro-arrhythmias. Between 1988 and 2009, 14 drugs have been removed from the market for this reason [3]. The microelectrode array (MEA) technique is a robust tool for drug screening as it detects the field potentials (FPs) for the entire cell culture. Furthermore, the propagation of the field potential can be examined on an electrode basis. To analyze MEA measurements in detail, we have developed an open-source tool.},

  abstract  = {In this work the transient simulations of four hybrid solar tower power plant concepts with open-volumetric receiver technology for a location in Barstow-Daggett, USA, are presented. The open-volumetric receiver uses ambient air as heat transfer fluid and the hybridization is realized with a gas turbine. The Rankine cycle is heated by solar-heated air and/or by the gas turbine's flue gases. The plant can be operated in solar-only, hybrid parallel or combined cycle-only mode as well as in any intermediate load levels where the solar portion can vary between 0 to 100\%. The simulated plant is based on the configuration of a solar-hybrid power tower project, which is in planning for a site in Northern Algeria. The meteorological data for Barstow-Daggett was taken from the software meteonorm. The solar power tower simulation tool has been developed in the simulation environment MATLAB/Simulink and is validated.},

  abstract  = {Next Generation Manufacturing promises significant improvements in performance, productivity, and value creation. In addition to the desired and projected improvements regarding the planning, production, and usage cycles of products, this digital transformation will have a huge impact on work, workers, and workplace design. Given the high uncertainty in the likelihood of occurrence and the technical, economic, and societal impacts of these changes, we conducted a technology foresight study, in the form of a real-time Delphi analysis, to derive reliable future scenarios featuring the next generation of manufacturing systems. This chapter presents the organization dimension and describes each projection in detail, offering current case study examples and discussing related research, as well as implications for policy makers and firms. Specifically, we highlight seven areas in which the digital transformation of production will change how we work, how we organize the work within a company, how we evaluate these changes, and how employment and labor rights will be affected across company boundaries. The experts are unsure whether the use of collaborative robots in factories will replace traditional robots by 2030. They believe that the use of hybrid intelligence will supplement human decision-making processes in production environments. Furthermore, they predict that artificial intelligence will lead to changes in management processes, leadership, and the elimination of hierarchies. However, to ensure that social and normative aspects are incorporated into the AI algorithms, restricting measurement of individual performance will be necessary. Additionally, AI-based decision support can significantly contribute toward new, socially accepted modes of leadership. Finally, the experts believe that there will be a reduction in the workforce by the year 2030.},

Da diese limitiert sind, werden im Hinblick auf die Nachhaltigkeit alternative, erneuerbare Rohstoffquellen intensiv untersucht. Vielversprechend in diesem Kontext sind die in Lignocellulose enthaltenen Zucker, die beispielsweise zur Produktion von Ethanol genutzt werden k{\"o}nnen. In der Regel sind f{\"u}r eine Lig-nocellulose-Bioraffinerie mehrere Prozessschritte notwendig: Vorbehandlung, Verzuckerung und Fermentation. Um diesen Prozess einfacher zu gestalten, ist es m{\"o}glich, die Verzuckerung und die Fermentation in einem Schritt durchzuf{\"u}hren (SSF). Als Substrat wird hier Cellulose-Faserstoff verwendet, der durch das Organosolv-Verfahren aufgeschlossen wurde. Die Hydrolyse erfolgt mit kommerziell erh{\"a}ltlichen Enzymen und f{\"u}r die Fermentation zu Ethanol werden zwei Hefen verwendet. Beim SSF-Verfahren konnte, im Vergleich zur entkoppelten Verfahrensweise, trotz bestehender Unterschiede in den Temperatur-Optima von Enzymen und Hefen eine Steigerung in der Ethanol-Ausbeute von 0,15 auf 0,2 gg⁻¹ beobachtet werden. Um wirtschaftliche Ausbeuten und Konzentrationen des Produkts erzielen zu k{\"o}nnen, ist es notwendig den Prozess weiter zu optimieren. Im Einzelfall muss {\"u}berpr{\"u}ft werden, ob diese Verfahrensweise auch f{\"u}r die Produktion anderer interessanter Stoffe (wie Itacons{\"a}ure, Bernsteins{\"a}ure) geeignet ist.},

  abstract  = {The human arm consists of the humerus (upper arm), the medial ulna and the lateral radius (forearm). The joint between the humerus and the ulna is called humeroulnar joint and the joint between the humerus and the radius is called humeroradial joint. Lateral and medial collateral ligaments stabilize the elbow. Statistically, 2.5 out of 10,000 people suffer from radial head fractures [1]. In these fractures the cartilage is often affected. Caused by the injured cartilage, degenerative diseases like posttraumatic arthrosis may occur. The resulting pain and reduced range of motion have an impact on the patient's quality of life. Until now, there has not been a treatment which allows typical loads in daily life activities and offers good long-term results. A new surgical approach was developed with the motivation to reduce the progress of the posttraumatic arthrosis. Here, the radius is shortened by 3 mm in the proximal part [2]. By this means, the load of the radius is intended to be reduced due to a load shift to the ulna. Since the radius is the most important stabilizer of the elbow it has to be confirmed that the stability is not affected. In the first test (Fig. 1 left), pressure distributions within the humeroulnar and humeroradial joints a native and a shortened radius were measured using resistive pressure sensors (I5076 and I5027, Tekscan, USA). The humerus was loaded axially in a tension testing machine (Z010, Zwick Roell, Germany) in 50 N steps up to 400 N. From the humerus the load is transmitted through both the radius and the ulna into the hand which is fixed on the ground. In the second test (Fig. 1 right), the joint stability was investigated using a digital image correlation system to measure the displacement of the ulna. Here, the humerus is fixed with a desired flexion angle and the unconstrained forearm lies on the ground. A rope connects the load actuator with a hook fixed in the ulna. A guide roller is used so that the rope pulls the ulna horizontally when a tensile load is applied. This creates a moment about the elbow joint with a maximum value of 7.5 Nm.
