  abstract  = {In this paper we present SMART-FACTORY, a setup for a research and teaching facility in industrial robotics that is based on the RoboCup Logistics League. It is driven by the need for developing and applying solutions for digital production. Digitization receives constantly increasing attention in many areas, especially in industry. The common theme is to make things smart by using intelligent computer technology. Especially in the last decade there have been many attempts to improve existing processes in factories, for example, in production logistics, also with deploying cyber-physical systems. An initiative that explores challenges and opportunities for robots in such a setting is the RoboCup Logistics League. Since its foundation in 2012 it is an international effort for research and education in an intra-warehouse logistics scenario. During seven years of competition a lot of knowledge and experience regarding autonomous robots was gained. This knowledge and experience shall provide the basis for further research in challenges of future production. The focus of our SMART-FACTORY is to create a stimulating environment for research on logistics robotics, for teaching activities in computer science and electrical engineering programmes as well as for industrial users to study and explore the feasibility of future technologies. Building on a very successful history in the RoboCup Logistics League we aim to provide stakeholders with a dedicated facility oriented at their individual needs.},

  abstract  = {Digital start-ups are perceived as an engine for innovation and job promotor. While success factors for non-IT start-ups have already been extensively researched, this study sheds light on digital entrepreneurs, whose business model relies primarily on services based on digital technologies. Applying the Grounded Theory method, we identify relevant environmental success factors for digital entrepreneurs. The study's research contribution is threefold. First, we provide 16 relevant and less relevant environmental success factors, which enables a comparison with prior identified factors. We found out that several prior environmental success factors, such as accessibility to transportation or the availability of land and facilities are less relevant for a digital entrepreneur. Second, we derive and discuss hypotheses for the influence of these factors on digital start-up success. Third, we present a theoretical model that lays the foundation for explaining the environmental influence on digital entrepreneurship success.},

  abstract  = {Magnetic nanoparticles (MNP) are investigated with great interest for biomedical applications in diagnostics (e.g. imaging: magnetic particle imaging (MPI)), therapeutics (e.g. hyperthermia: magnetic fluid hyperthermia (MFH)) and multi-purpose biosensing (e.g. magnetic immunoassays (MIA)). What all of these applications have in common is that they are based on the unique magnetic relaxation mechanisms of MNP in an alternating magnetic field (AMF). While MFH and MPI are currently the most prominent examples of biomedical applications, here we present results on the relatively new biosensing application of frequency mixing magnetic detection (FMMD) from a simulation perspective. In general, we ask how the key parameters of MNP (core size and magnetic anisotropy) affect the FMMD signal: by varying the core size, we investigate the effect of the magnetic volume per MNP; and by changing the effective magnetic anisotropy, we study the MNPs' flexibility to leave its preferred magnetization direction. From this, we predict the most effective combination of MNP core size and magnetic anisotropy for maximum signal generation.},

  abstract  = {Even though BIM (Building Information Modelling) is successfully implemented in most of the world, it is still in the early stages in Germany, since the stakeholders are sceptical of its reliability and efficiency. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the opportunities and obstacles to implementing BIM for prefabrication. Among all other advantages of BIM, prefabrication is chosen for this paper because it plays a vital role in creating an impact on the time and cost factors of a construction project. The project stakeholders and participants can explicitly observe the positive impact of prefabrication, which enables the breakthrough of the scepticism factor among the small-scale construction companies. The analysis consists of the development of a process workflow for implementing prefabrication in building construction followed by a practical approach, which was executed with two case studies. It was planned in such a way that, the first case study gives a first-hand experience for the workers at the site on the BIM model so that they can make much use of the created BIM model, which is a better representation compared to the traditional 2D plan. The main aim of the first case study is to create a belief in the implementation of BIM Models, which was succeeded by the execution of offshore prefabrication in the second case study. Based on the case studies, the time analysis was made and it is inferred that the implementation of BIM for prefabrication can reduce construction time, ensures minimal wastes, better accuracy, less problem-solving at the construction site. It was observed that this process requires more planning time, better communication between different disciplines, which was the major obstacle for successful implementation. This paper was carried out from the perspective of small and medium-sized mechanical contracting companies for the private building sector in Germany.},

  abstract  = {Im Hinblick auf die Klimaziele der Bundesrepublik Deutschland konzentriert sich das Projekt Diggi Twin auf die nachhaltige Geb{\"a}udeoptimierung. Grundlage f{\"u}r eine ganzheitliche Geb{\"a}ude{\"u}berwachung und -optimierung bildet dabei die Digitalisierung und Automation im Sinne eines Smart Buildings. Das interdisziplin{\"a}re Projekt der FH Aachen hat das Ziel, ein bestehendes Hochschulgeb{\"a}ude und einen Neubau an klimaneutrale Standards anzupassen. Im Rahmen des Projekts werden bekannte Verfahren, wie das Building Information Modeling (BIM), so erweitert, dass ein digitaler Geb{\"a}udezwilling entsteht. Dieser kann zur Optimierung des Geb{\"a}udebetriebs herangezogen werden, sowie als Basis f{\"u}r eine Erweiterung des Bewertungssystems Nachhaltiges Bauen (BNB) dienen.   abstract  = {The major advantage of labyrinth weirs over linear weirs is hydraulic efficiency. In hydraulic modeling efforts, this strength contrasts with limited pump capacity as well as limited computational power for CFD simulations. For the latter, reducing the number of investigated cycles can significantly reduce necessary computational time. In this study, a labyrinth weir with different cycle numbers was investigated. The simulations were conducted in FLOW-3D HYDRO as a Large Eddy Simulation. With a mean deviation of 1.75 \% between simulated discharge coefficients and literature design equations, a reasonable agreement was found. For downstream conditions, overall consistent results were observed as well. However, the orientation of labyrinth weirs with a single cycle should be chosen carefully under consideration of the individual research purpose.},

  abstract  = {A hybrid-electric propulsion system combines the advantages of fuel-based systems and battery powered systems and offers new design freedom. To take full advantage of this technology, aircraft designers must be aware of its key differences, compared to conventional, carbon-fuel based, propulsion systems. This paper gives an overview of the challenges and potential benefits associated with the design of aircraft that use hybrid-electric propulsion systems. It offers an introduction of the most popular hybrid-electric propulsion architectures and critically assess them against the conventional and fully electric propulsion configurations. The effects on operational aspects and design aspects are covered. Special consideration is given to the application of hybrid-electric propulsion technology to both unmanned and vertical take-off and landing aircraft. The authors conclude that electric propulsion technology has the potential to revolutionize aircraft design. However, new and innovative methods must be researched, to realize the full benefit of the technology.},

Zusammenfasung [der Autoren] Die {\"o}ffentlichen Kanalnetze Deutschlands stellen mit einem Wert von rd. 330 Mrd. € ein enormes Anlageverm{\"o}gen dar. Auf Grund des oft schlechten Zustandes und geringer Ausgaben zur Instandhaltung und Erneuerung ist zu erwarten, dass durch die gegenw{\"a}rtige Sanierungspraxis eher ein Substanzwertverzehr des Kanalnetzes als ein Substanzwerterhalt im Sinne des Generationenvertrages erzielt wird. F{\"u}r einen nachhaltigen Betrieb und Erhalt der Kanalnetze sind deshalb Sanierungsstrategien erforderlich, die neben den technischen und gesetzlichen Anforderungen auch den mittel- und langfristigen Substanzwertverlauf ber{\"u}cksichtigen. Dieser wird beeinflusst vom erforderlichen oder durchgef{\"u}hrten Sanierungsumfang, Art und Zusammensetzung der ausgew{\"a}hlten Maßnahmen sowie der zeitlichen Abfolge der Sanierungsmaßnahmen. Erheblichen Einfluss auf den Substanzwertverlauf hat zudem die Ber{\"u}cksichtigung der hydraulischen Verh{\"a}ltnisse sowie der optisch nicht sichtbaren Undichtheiten. Entsprechend ist es erforderlich, die tats{\"a}chlich vorhandenen Defizite zu ermitteln und die Sanierungsmaßnahmen sowie eine Strategie zur Umsetzung zu erarbeiten. Da sich gezeigt hat, dass alleine die Einhaltung der technischen und gesetzlichen Anforderung f{\"u}r einen Substanzwerterhalt nicht ausreicht, muss die geplante Strategie im Dr.-Ing. Martin Wolf 139 von 170 Decision-Support-System kokas zur Sanierungsplanung und Strategieentwicklung 1. Aachener Softwaretag in der Wasserwirtschaft Hinblick auf die nachhaltige Wertentwicklung {\"u}berpr{\"u}ft und ggf. Anpassungen vorgenommen werden. Kurzfristig erzielte Einsparungen durch reduzierten Schadensumfang oder einseitige Maßnahmenwahl erm{\"o}glichen zwar im g{\"u}nstigsten Fall, die Anforderungen einzuhalten, gehen jedoch zwangsl{\"a}ufig zu Lasten des Substanzwertes und f{\"u}hren mittel- und langfristig zu einer Versch{\"a}rfung der Kosten- und Geb{\"u}hrensituation.   abstract  = {A German-Brazilian research project investigates sugarcane as an energy plant in anaerobic digestion for biogas production. The aim of the project is a continuous, efficient, and stable biogas process with sugarcane as the substrate. Tests are carried out in a fermenter with a volume of 10 l. In order to optimize the space-time load to achieve a stable process, a continuous process in laboratory scale has been devised. The daily feed in quantity and the harvest time of the substrate sugarcane has been varied. Analyses of the digester content were conducted twice per week to monitor the process: The ratio of inorganic carbon content to volatile organic acid content (VFA/TAC), the concentration of short-chain fatty acids, the organic dry matter, the pH value, and the total nitrogen, phosphate, and ammonium concentrations were monitored. In addition, the gas quality (the percentages of CO₂, CH₄, and H₂) and the quantity of the produced gas were analyzed. The investigations have exhibited feasible and economical production of biogas in a continuous process with energy cane as substrate. With a daily feeding rate of 1.68gᵥₛ/l*d the average specific gas formation rate was 0.5 m3/kgᵥₛ. The long-term study demonstrates a surprisingly fast metabolism of short-chain fatty acids. This indicates a stable and less susceptible process compared to other substrates.},

  abstract  = {Digital forensics of smartphones is of utmost importance in many criminal cases. As modern smartphones store chats, photos, videos etc. that can be relevant for investigations and as they can have storage capacities of hundreds of gigabytes, they are a primary target for forensic investigators. However, it is exactly this large amount of data that is causing problems: extracting and examining the data from multiple phones seized in the context of a case is taking more and more time. This bears the risk of wasting a lot of time with irrelevant phones while there is not enough time left to analyze a phone which is worth examination. Forensic triage can help in this case: Such a triage is a preselection step based on a subset of data and is performed before fully extracting all the data from the smartphone. Triage can accelerate subsequent investigations and is especially useful in cases where time is essential. The aim of this paper is to determine which and how much data from an Android smartphone can be made directly accessible to the forensic investigator - without tedious investigations. For this purpose, an app has been developed that can be used with extremely limited storage of data in the handset and which outputs the extracted data immediately to the forensic workstation in a human- and machine-readable format.},

  abstract  = {The problem of fair and privacy-preserving ordered set reconciliation arises in a variety of applications like auctions, e-voting, and appointment reconciliation. While several multi-party protocols have been proposed that solve this problem in the semi-honest model, there are no multi-party protocols that are secure in the malicious model so far. In this paper, we close this gap. Our newly proposed protocols are shown to be secure in the malicious model based on a variety of novel non-interactive zero-knowledge-proofs.   abstract  = {In collaborative research projects, both researchers and practitioners work together solving business-critical challenges. These projects often deal with ETL processes, in which humans extract information from non-machine-readable documents by hand. AI-based machine learning models can help to solve this problem. Since machine learning approaches are not deterministic, their quality of output may decrease over time. This fact leads to an overall quality loss of the application which embeds machine learning models. Hence, the software qualities in development and production may differ. Machine learning models are black boxes. That makes practitioners skeptical and increases the inhibition threshold for early productive use of research prototypes. Continuous monitoring of software quality in production offers an early response capability on quality loss and encourages the use of machine learning approaches. Furthermore, experts have to ensure that they integrate possible new inputs into the model training as quickly as possible. In this paper, we introduce an architecture pattern with a reference implementation that extends the concept of Metrics Driven Research Collaboration with an automated software quality monitoring in productive use and a possibility to auto-generate new test data coming from processed documents in production. Through automated monitoring of the software quality and auto-generated test data, this approach ensures that the software quality meets and keeps requested thresholds in productive use, even during further continuous deployment and changing input data.},

  abstract  = {KNX is a protocol for smart building automation, e.g., for automated heating, air conditioning, or lighting. This paper analyses and evaluates state-of-the-art KNX devices from manufacturers Merten, Gira and Siemens with respect to security. On the one hand, it is investigated if publicly known vulnerabilities like insecure storage of passwords in software, unencrypted communication, or denialof-service attacks, can be reproduced in new devices. On the other hand, the security is analyzed in general, leading to the discovery of a previously unknown and high risk vulnerability related to so-called BCU (authentication) keys.},
