  abstract  = {Die Eurocodes werden bis zum Jahr 2020 im Europ{\"a}ischen Komitee f{\"u}r Normung (CEN), Technisches Komitee TC 250, {\"u}berarbeitet. In Vorbereitung auf die Eurocode-Novellierung haben engagierte Ingenieure im Rahmen der Initiative PraxisRegeln Bau (PRB) die f{\"u}r die praktische Anwendung h{\"a}ufig genutzten Teile des Eurocode 3 untersucht. Mit dem Ziel, die Praxistauglichkeit des Eurocode 3 f{\"u}r die Heißbemessung zu verbessern, wurden die bestehende Norm EN 1993 Teil 1-2 insbesondere in Bezug auf die Anwenderfreundlichkeit analysiert und Vorschl{\"a}ge f{\"u}r die europ{\"a}ische Novellierung erarbeitet. Die Analysen zeigen, dass durch Umstrukturierungen und durch die Einf{\"u}hrung von Tabellen die Verst{\"a}ndlichkeit und Anwenderfreundlichkeit der Regeln f{\"u}r die Heißbemessung bedeutend erh{\"o}ht werden k{\"o}nnen.},

  abstract  = {An equitable graph coloring is a proper vertex coloring of a graph G where the sizes of the color classes differ by at most one. The equitable chromatic number is the smallest number k such that G admits such equitable k-coloring. We focus on enumerative algorithms for the computation of the equitable coloring number and propose a general scheme to derive pruning rules for them: We show how the extendability of a partial coloring into an equitable coloring can be modeled via network flows. Thus, we obtain pruning rules which can be checked via flow algorithms. Computational experiments show that the search tree of enumerative algorithms can be significantly reduced in size by these rules and, in most instances, such naive approach even yields a faster algorithm. Moreover, the stability, i.e., the number of solved instances within a given time limit, is greatly improved. Since the execution of flow algorithms at each node of a search tree is time consuming, we derive arithmetic pruning rules (generalized Hall-conditions) from the network model. Adding these rules to an enumerative algorithm yields an even larger runtime improvement.},

  abstract  = {The composition of plant biomass varies depending on the feedstock and pre-treatment conditions and influences its processing in biorefineries. In order to ensure optimal process conditions, the quantitative proportion of the main polymeric components of the pre-treated biomass has to be determined. Current standard procedures for biomass compositional analysis are complex, the measurements are afflicted with errors and therefore often not comparable. Hence, new powerful analytical methods are urgently required to characterize biomass. In this contribution, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) was applied in combination with multivariate data analysis (MVA) to detect the cellulose content of the plant biomass pretreated by Liquid Hot Water (LHW) and Organosolv processes under various conditions. Unlike conventional techniques, the developed analytic method enables the accurate quantification of monosaccharide content of the plant biomass without any previous sample preparation. It is easy to handle and avoids errors in sample preparation.},

  abstract  = {This paper describes the development of a capacitively coupled high-pressure lamp with input power between 20 and 43 W at 2.45 GHz, using a coaxial line network. Compared with other electrodeless lamp systems, no cavity has to be used and a reduction in the input power is achieved. Therefore, this lamp is an alternative to the halogen incandescent lamp for domestic lighting. To serve the demands of domestic lighting, the filling of the lamp is optimized over all other resulting requirements, such as high efficacy at low induced powers and fast startups. A workflow to develop RF-driven plasma applications is presented, which makes use of the hot S-parameter technique. Descriptions of the fitting process inside a circuit and FEM simulator are given. Results of the combined ignition and operation network from simulations and measurements are compared. An initial prototype is built and measurements of the lamp's lighting properties are presented along with an investigation of the efficacy optimizations using large signal amplitude modulation. With this lamp, an efficacy of 135 lmW -1 is achieved.},

  abstract  = {In this paper we present an extension of the action language Golog that allows for using fuzzy notions in non-deterministic argument choices and the reward function in decision-theoretic planning. Often, in decision-theoretic planning, it is cumbersome to specify the set of values to pick from in the non-deterministic-choice-of-argument statement. Also, even for domain experts, it is not always easy to specify a reward function. Instead of providing a finite domain for values in the non-deterministic-choice-of-argument statement in Golog, we now allow for stating the argument domain by simply providing a formula over linguistic terms and fuzzy uents. In Golog's forward-search DT planning algorithm, these formulas are evaluated in order to find the agent's optimal policy. We illustrate this in the Diner Domain where the agent needs to calculate the optimal serving order.},

  abstract  = {Im Mai 2012 fand in Hamburg erstmals das „Junge Forum Hochschul- und Mediendidaktik" statt, im Juni 2013 folgte in Potsdam die zweite Auflage als „Junges Forum Medien und Hochschulentwicklung". 2014 wurde das dritte „Forum" in Dresden und 2015 das vierte in D{\"u}sseldorf ausgerichtet. Das f{\"u}nfte Forum wird 2016 an der Technischen Universit{\"a}t Darmstadt stattfinden. Initiiert und organisiert wird die Veranstaltung stets von jungen Praktikerinnen und Praktikern sowie Forscherinnen und Forschern mit dem Ziel, dem ‚Nachwuchs' in diesem Bereich ein Austauschforum zu geben. Der vorliegende Artikel stellt die konzeptionellen {\"U}berlegungen vor, die hinter diesen Treffen stehen. Er zeigt im R{\"u}ckgriff auf Netzwerktheorie und aktuelle Diskussionen um Professionalisierung und Third Space, wieso f{\"u}r dieses Format ein aktueller Bedarf besteht, und begr{\"u}ndet dann im R{\"u}ckgriff auf didaktische Konzepte auch die methodische Gestaltung der Veranstaltungen.   abstract  = {Manufacturing process simulation enables the evaluation and improvement of autoclave mold concepts early in the design phase. To achieve a high part quality at low cycle times, the thermal behavior of the autoclave mold can be investigated by means of simulations. Most challenging for such a simulation is the generation of necessary boundary conditions. Heat-up and temperature distribution in an autoclave mold are governed by flow phenomena, tooling material and shape, position within the autoclave, and the chosen autoclave cycle. This paper identifies and summarizes the most important factors influencing mold heat-up and how they can be introduced into a thermal simulation. Thermal measurements are used to quantify the impact of the various parameters. Finally, the gained knowledge is applied to develop a semi-empirical approach for boundary condition estimation that enables a simple and fast thermal simulation of the autoclave curing process with reasonably high accuracy for tooling optimization.},

  abstract  = {We present an effective and simple multiscale method for equilibrating Kremer Grest model polymer melts of varying stiffness. In our approach, we progressively equilibrate the melt structure above the tube scale, inside the tube and finally at the monomeric scale. We make use of models designed to be computationally effective at each scale. Density fluctuations in the melt structure above the tube scale are minimized through a Monte Carlo simulated annealing of a lattice polymer model. Subsequently the melt structure below the tube scale is equilibrated via the Rouse dynamics of a force-capped Kremer-Grest model that allows chains to partially interpenetrate. Finally the Kremer-Grest force field is introduced to freeze the topological state and enforce correct monomer packing. We generate 15 melts of 500 chains of 10.000 beads for varying chain stiffness as well as a number of melts with 1.000 chains of 15.000 monomers. To validate the equilibration process we study the time evolution of bulk, collective, and single-chain observables at the monomeric, mesoscopic, and macroscopic length scales. Extension of the present method to longer, branched, or polydisperse chains, and/or larger system sizes is straightforward.},

  abstract  = {Rubber materials filled with reinforcing fillers display nonlinear rheological behavior at small strain amplitudes below γ0 < 0.1. Nevertheless, rheological data are analyzed mostly in terms of linear parameters, such as shear moduli (G′, G″), which loose their physical meaning in the nonlinear regime. In this work styrene butadiene rubber filled with carbon black (CB) under large amplitude oscillatory shear (LAOS) is analyzed in terms of the nonlinear parameter I3/1. Three different CB grades are used and the filler load is varied between 0 and 70 phr. It is found that I3/1(φ) is most sensitive to changes of the total accessible filler surface area at low strain amplitudes (γ0 = 0.32). The addition of up to 70 phr CB leads to an increase of I3/1(φ) by a factor of more than ten. The influence of the measurement temperature on I3/1 is pronounced for CB levels above the percolation threshold.},

However, due to their very low stiffness, they are not always suitable for industrial applications. Addition of filler particles provides reinforcing effects and thus enhances the material properties that render them more versatile for applications like tyres etc. However, deformation behavior of filled polymers is accompanied by several nonlinear effects like Mullins and Payne effect. To this day, the physical and chemical changes resulting in such nonlinear effect remain an active area of research. In this work, we develop a heterogeneous (or multiphase) constitutive model at the mesoscale explicitly considering filler particle aggregates, elastomeric matrix and their mechanical interaction through an approximate interface layer. The developed constitutive model is used to demonstrate cluster breakage, also, as one of the possible sources for Mullins effect observed in non-crystallizing filled elastomers.},

  abstract  = {The enormous diversity of seed traits is an intriguing feature and critical for the overwhelming success of higher plants. In particular, seed mass is generally regarded to be key for seedling development but is mostly approximated by using scanning methods delivering only two-dimensional data, often termed seed size. However, three-dimensional traits, such as the volume or mass of single seeds, are very rarely determined in routine measurements. Here, we introduce a device named phenoSeeder, which enables the handling and phenotyping of individual seeds of very different sizes. The system consists of a pick-and-place robot and a modular setup of sensors that can be versatilely extended. Basic biometric traits detected for individual seeds are two-dimensional data from projections, three-dimensional data from volumetric measures, and mass, from which seed density is also calculated. Each seed is tracked by an identifier and, after phenotyping, can be planted, sorted, or individually stored for further evaluation or processing (e.g. in routine seed-to-plant tracking pipelines). By investigating seeds of Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana), rapeseed (Brassica napus), and barley (Hordeum vulgare), we observed that, even for apparently round-shaped seeds of rapeseed, correlations between the projected area and the mass of seeds were much weaker than between volume and mass. This indicates that simple projections may not deliver good proxies for seed mass. Although throughput is limited, we expect that automated seed phenotyping on a single-seed basis can contribute valuable information for applications in a wide range of wild or crop species, including seed classification, seed sorting, and assessment of seed quality.},

Im Rahmen des europ{\"a}ischen Forschungsprojektes BATIMASS wurden Techniken untersucht, die die sommerliche Raumtemperatur ohne zus{\"a}tzliche K{\"u}hlung (passiv) oder aber mit energieeffizienter wasserbasierter Fl{\"a}chenk{\"u}hlung (aktiv) reduzieren und die besonders f{\"u}r Geb{\"a}ude in Stahl(leicht)bauweise geeignet sind. Daf{\"u}r wurde die Methodik der thermisch {\"a}quivalenten Decke weiterentwickelt, um das thermische Verhalten von Profilblechdecken in Geb{\"a}uden f{\"u}r beide L{\"o}sungsans{\"a}tze analysieren zu k{\"o}nnen. Bottom-up-Parser, k{\"o}nnen nicht auf das Parsen der nat{\"u}rlichen Sprache {\"u}bertragen werden, da keine Formalisierung der nat{\"u}rlichen Sprachen existiert [3, 12, 23, 30]. In den ersten Programmen, die nat{\"u}rliche Sprache verarbeiten [32, 41], wurde versucht die nat{\"u}rliche Sprache mit festen Regelmengen zu verarbeiten. Dieser Ansatz stieß jedoch schnell an seine Grenzen, da die Regelmenge nicht vollst{\"a}ndig sowie nicht minimal ist und wegen der ben{\"o}tigten Menge an Regeln schwer zu verwalten ist. Die Korpuslinguistik [22] bot die M{\"o}glichkeit, die Regelmenge durch Supervised-Machine-Learning-Verfahren [2] abzul{\"o}sen. Teil der Korpuslinguistik ist es, große Textkorpora zu erstellen und diese mit sprachlichen Strukturen zu annotieren. Zu diesen Strukturen geh{\"o}ren sowohl die Wortarten als auch die Ableitungsb{\"a}ume der S{\"a}tze. Vorteil dieser Methodik ist es, dass repr{\"a}sentative Daten zur Verf{\"u}gung stehen. Diese Daten werden genutzt, um mit Supervised-Machine-Learning-Verfahren die Gesetzm{\"a}ßigkeiten der nat{\"u}rliche Sprachen zu erlernen. Das Maximum-Entropie-Verfahren ist ein Supervised-Machine-Learning-Verfahren, das genutzt wird, um nat{\"u}rliche Sprache zu erlernen. Ratnaparkhi [25] nutzt Maximum-Entropie, um Ableitungsb{\"a}ume f{\"u}r S{\"a}tze der nat{\"u}rlichen Sprache zu erlernen. Dieses Verfahren macht es m{\"o}glich, die nat{\"u}rliche Sprache (abgebildet als Σ∗) trotz einer fehlenden formalen Grammatik zu parsen.},
