N2  - For performing point-of-care molecular diagnostics, magnetic immunoassays constitute a promising alternative to established enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) because they are fast, robust and sensitive. Simultaneous detection of multiple biomolecular targets from one body fluid sample is desired. The aim of this work is to show that multiplex magnetic immunodetection based on magnetic frequency mixing by means of modular immunofiltration columns prepared for different targets is feasible. By calculations of the magnetic response signal, the required spacing between the modules was determined. Immunofiltration columns were manufactured by 3D printing and antibody immobilization was performed in a batch approach. It was shown experimentally that two different target molecules in a sample solution could be individually detected in a single assaying step with magnetic measurements of the corresponding immobilization filters. The arrangement order of the filters and of a negative control did not influence the results. Thus, a simple and reliable approach to multi-target magnetic immunodetection was demonstrated.

N2  - Monitoring the cellular metabolism of bacteria in (bio)fermentation processes is crucial to control and steer them, and to prevent undesired disturbances linked to metabolically inactive microorganisms. In this context, cell-based biosensors can play an important role to improve the quality and increase the yield of such processes. This work describes the simultaneous analysis of the metabolic behavior of three different types of bacteria by means of a differential light-addressable potentiometric sensor (LAPS) set-up. The study includes Lactobacillus brevis, Corynebacterium glutamicum, and Escherichia coli, which are often applied in fermentation processes in bioreactors. Differential measurements were carried out to compensate undesirable influences such as sensor signal drift, and pH value variation during the measurements. Furthermore, calibration curves of the cellular metabolism were established as a function of the glucose concentration or cell number variation with all three model microorganisms. In this context, simultaneous (bio)sensing with the multi-organism LAPS-based set-up can open new possibilities for a cost-effective, rapid detection of the extracellular acidification of bacteria on a single sensor chip. It can be applied to evaluate the metabolic response of bacteria populations in a (bio)fermentation process, for instance, in the biogas fermentation process.

N2  - Neuromuscular strength training of the leg extensor muscles plays an important role in the rehabilitation and prevention of age and wealth related diseases. In this paper, we focus on the design and implementation of a Cartesian admittance control scheme for isotonic training, i.e. leg extension and flexion against a predefined weight. For preliminary testing and validation of the designed algorithm an experimental research and development platform consisting of an 
industrial robot and a force plate mounted at its end-effector has been used. Linear, diagonal and arbitrary two-dimensional motion trajectories with different weights for the leg extension and flexion part are applied. The proposed algorithm is easily adaptable to trajectories consisting of arbitrary six-dimensional poses and allows the implementation of individualized trajectories.

N2  - The increasing complexity of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) presents a challenging task to validate safe and reliable performance of these systems under varied conditions. The test and validation of ADAS/AD with real test drives, although important, involves huge costs and time. Simulation tools provide an alternative with the added advantage of reproducibility but often use ideal sensors, which do not reflect real sensor output accurately. This paper presents a new validation methodology using fault injection, as recommended by the ISO 26262 standard, to test software and system robustness. In our work, we investigated and developed a tool capable of inserting faults at different software and system levels to verify its robustness. The scope of this paper is to cover the fault injection test for the Visteon’s DriveCore™ system, a centralized domain controller for Autonomous driving which is sensor agnostic and SoC agnostic. With this new approach, the validation of safety monitoring functionality and its behavior can be tested using real-world data instead of synthetic data from simulation tools resulting in having better confidence in system performance before proceeding with in-vehicle testing.

N2  - In this paper, an approach to propulsion system modelling for hybrid-electric general aviation aircraft is presented. Because the focus is on general aviation aircraft, only combinations of electric motors and reciprocating combustion engines are explored. Gas turbine hybrids will not be considered. The level of the component's models is appropriate for the conceptual design stage. They are simple and adaptable, so that a wide range of designs with morphologically different propulsive system architectures can be quickly compared. Modelling strategies for both mass and efficiency of each part of the propulsion system (engine, motor, battery and propeller) will be presented.

N2  - Im folgenden Kapitel werden die wichtigsten geotechnischen Nachweise sowie praxisnahe Beispiele für den Baubetrieb aufgeführt. Es wird im Wesentlichen auf die Bodenbeschreibung und Klassifikation nach DIN 18196 sowie nach DIN 18300 eingegangen, welche sowohl für die weiteren Berechnungen als auch für die Kalkulation von großer Bedeutung sind.

Die aus der Praxis aufgeführten Beispiele verdeutlichen verschiedene Untersuchungs- und Auswertungsmethoden für direkte und indirekte Aufschlüsse, diese enthalten Labor- und Feldversuche, mit denen man die Verdichtbarkeit von Böden auswertet und quantifiziert, sowie viele andere Themenbereiche wie Erddruckberechnungen sowie Spannungs- und Setzungsberechnungen.

Darüber hinaus werden exemplarisch bestimmte Verbauarten bezüglich ihrer Bemessung erläutert. Es wird ebenfalls auf das Thema Wasserhaltung eingegangen und die erforderlichen Maßnahmen beschrieben, um bestimmte Versagensmechanismen - wie z.B. den hydraulischen Grundbruch - zu verhindern.

N2  - Soziale Netzwerke sind aus dem Alltag nicht wegzudenken. Es vergeht keine Sekunde, in der nicht abertausende Status-Updates, Kommentare und Nachrichten rund um den Globus versendet werden. Die Stellung als Informations- und Kommunikationsmedium macht die Betreiber solcher Plattformen - zahlreichen Skandalen zum Trotz - zu den Internetgiganten unserer Zeit. Insoweit ist es nicht verwunderlich, dass die Datenschutz-Grundverordnung (DSGVO) auch und gerade mit dem Ziel angetreten ist, soziale Netzwerke zu regulieren.

Die datenschutzrechtliche Diskussion fokussierte sich vor allem auf die Betreiber von sozialen Netzwerken. Unter welchen Umständen welches Recht auf wen Anwendung findet, wer für welche Tätigkeiten verantwortlich ist, und unter welchen Bedingungen eine Verarbeitung rechtmäßig ist, wurde bislang nur pauschal beantwortet. Bei Web 2.0-Plattformen wirkt jedoch eine Vielzahl von Beteiligten zusammen, bei denen Art der Verarbeitung, verfolgte Zwecke und mögliche Rechtsgrundlagen divergieren. Dies macht eine sorgfältige Differenzierung notwendig. Das vorliegende Werk analysiert die Handlungen von Netzwerkbetreibern, Fansite-Betreibern und Nutzern in sozialen Netzwerken und zeigt gleichermaßen Voraussetzungen wie praxistaugliche Lösungen für eine datenschutzkonforme Datenverarbeitung in Hinblick auf alle Beteiligten unter der DSGVO auf.

Schwerpunkte sind die Anwendbarkeit der DSGVO, der Umfang der Verantwortlichkeit der einzelnen Akteure und die Rechtmäßigkeit der Verarbeitung. Daneben werden auch jene Besonderheiten der DSGVO, die spezifische Relevanz für soziale Netzwerke entfalten, ausführlich behandelt. Hierzu zählt etwa das Haushaltsprivileg, die Verarbeitung "sensibler" Daten, das Kopplungsverbot, das Recht auf Datenübertragbarkeit, Privacy by Default oder das vielzitierte "Recht auf Vergessenwerden".

Hierbei werden Hinweise zur Erstellung von Protokollen, zum E-Mail bei Großprojekten und zur Dokumentation von Stundenlohnarbeiten gegeben. Des Weiteren wird eine Schriftverkehrsliste vorgestellt, die zur Nachverfolgung des Schriftverkehrs bei Großprojekten unerlässlich ist.

Anschließend werden die typischen Vertragsarten vorgestellt, die bei der Abwicklung von Großprojekten zu beachten sind und die Unterschiede werden durch Fallbeispiele erläutert.

Einen Schwerpunkt des Kapitels bilden auftragsnehmerseitige Verzüge sowie mangelbehaftete Leistungen. Hier werden Hinweise gegeben, wie in den entsprechenden Situationen zu reagieren ist.

N2  - The discovery of human induced pluripotent stem cells reprogrammed from somatic cells [1] and their ability to differentiate into cardiomyocytes (hiPSC-CMs) has provided a robust platform for drug screening [2]. Drug screenings are essential in the development of new components, particularly for evaluating the potential of drugs to induce life-threatening pro-arrhythmias. Between 1988 and 2009, 14 drugs have been removed from the market for this reason [3]. The microelectrode array (MEA) technique is a robust tool for drug screening as it detects the field potentials (FPs) for the entire cell culture. Furthermore, the propagation of the field potential can be examined on an electrode basis. To analyze MEA measurements in detail, we have developed an open-source tool.

N2  - Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is a typical surface sterilization agent for packaging materials used in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries. We use the finite-elements method to analyze the conceptual design of an in-line thermal evaporation unit to produce a heated gas mixture of air and evaporated H2O2 solution. For the numerical model, the required phase-transition variables of pure H2O2  solution and of the aerosol mixture are acquired from vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) diagrams derived from vapor-pressure formulations. This work combines homogeneous single-phase turbulent flow with heat-transfer physics to describe the operation of the evaporation unit. We introduce the apparent heat-capacity concept to approximate the non-isothermal phase-transition process of the H2O2-containing aerosol. Empirical and analytical functions are defined to represent the temperature- and pressure-dependent material properties of the aqueous H2O2 solution, the aerosol and the gas mixture. To validate the numerical model, the simulation results are compared to experimental data on the heating power required to produce the gas mixture. This shows good agreement with the deviations below 10%. Experimental observations on the formation of deposits due to the evaporation of stabilized H2O2 solution fits the prediction made from simulation results.

N2  - Im Rahmen der Digitalisierung ist die zunehmende Automatisierung von bisher manuellen Prozessschritten ein Aspekt, der massive Auswirkungen auf die zukünftige Arbeitswelt haben wird. In diesem Kontext werden an den Einsatz von Softwarerobotern zur Prozessautomatisierung hohe Erwartungen geknüpft. Bei den Implementierungsansätzen wird die Diskussion aktuell insbesondere durch Robotic Process Automation (RPA) und Chatbots geprägt. Beide Ansätze verfolgen das gemeinsame Ziel einer 1:1-Automatisierung von menschlichen Handlungen und dadurch ein direktes Ersetzen von Mitarbeitern durch Maschinen. Bei RPA werden Prozesse durch Softwareroboter erlernt und automatisiert ausgeführt. Dabei emulieren RPA-Roboter die Eingaben auf der bestehenden Präsentationsschicht, so dass keine Änderungen an vorhandenen Anwendungssystemen notwendig sind. Am Markt werden bereits unterschiedliche RPA-Lösungen als Softwareprodukte angeboten. Durch Chatbots werden Ein- und Ausgaben von Anwendungssystemen über natürliche Sprache realisiert. Dadurch ist die Automatisierung von unternehmensexterner Kommunikation (z. B. mit Kunden) aber auch von unternehmensinternen Assistenztätigkeiten möglich. Der Beitrag diskutiert die Auswirkungen von Softwarerobotern auf die Arbeitswelt anhand von Anwendungsbeispielen und erläutert die unternehmensindividuelle Entscheidung über den Einsatz von Softwarerobotern anhand von Effektivitäts- und Effizienzzielen.
