N2  - What does the word 'home' means and at what age do we give it meaning? Many of us grew up in one, in a home that our parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and relatives shaped. Who, as we grew up, taught us about the world from their perspective as we interpreted and saw it for the first time and with it, its colors, its smells, its tastes, its sounds, its dances, and its languages.
When we migrate, we take all that with us, like a piece of luggage that was stored in some corner inside a lung, or inside the memory in a heart’s artery. And then you arrive in this new world, which we were told was the Old World, with other colors, other flavors, other words, in which yours no longer make sense. And you try to connect with all your senses, but, above all, we try to belong, because we belonged all our lives to something, to someone, to some place where we learned to be.
When we migrate, without saying, we go through the grieve that comes with the beautiful discomfort of leaving everything we once knew. We mourn, because we can’t go to lunch at our grandmas on Sundays, or have mom bring us soup when we are sick, or the Christmas meals and celebrations that we like so much, or that special dish that was made for us on our birthdays or on a family BBQ on a Sunday or a holiday.  
I wonder if emotions come inside us through the taste and respiratory track, if it is that we breathe life, and with that what we love finds its ways inside and finds its corner somewhere in the body.
If what we have loved and what we have lived hides somewhere in our body, I doubtlessly think it came in through one of our senses, and in this attempt at my first illustrated book I’ll share which, I think, are the senses through which at first instance part of what we perceive as cultural identity enters.

N2  - Müll ist immer und überall vorhanden – auch wenn wir ihn nicht sehen. Gerade unsichtbarer Müll birgt für den Menschen und seine Umwelt erhebliche Gefahren, die durch seine Unsichtbarkeit irrelevant erscheinen. Die Publikation mit dem Titel mikromakro deckt durch verschiedene Artikel, Interviews und Texte die Gefahren auf, die durch den unsichtbaren Müll entstehen.
Ziel war es, eine Bookazine-Reihe zu konzipieren, die in sechs Ausgaben das Thema des unsichtbaren Mülls beleuchtet. Die erste Ausgabe zum Thema Kunststoff wurde exemplarisch gestaltet.
Zusätzlich zum redaktionellen Teil untermauern Infografiken die Texte faktisch und Fotoserien emotional.
Da unsichtbarer Müll auf zwei Ebenen zu finden ist – der Makro- (groß) und Mikroebene (klein) – wurde die Publikation inhaltlich zweigeteilt, sodass sich das Layout und die Fotoserien vom Mikro- und Makroteil unterscheiden.

N2  - Recent earthquakes showed that low-rise URM buildings following codecompliant seismic design and details behaved in general very well without substantial damages. Although advances in simulation tools make nonlinear calculation methods more readily accessible to designers, linear analyses will still be the standard design method for years to come. The present paper aims to improve the linear seismic design method by providing a proper definition of the q-factor of URM buildings. Values of q-factors are derived for low-rise URM buildings with rigid diaphragms, with reference to modern structural configurations realized in low to moderate seismic areas of Italy and Germany. The behaviour factor components for deformation and energy dissipation capacity and for overstrength due to the redistribution of forces are derived by means of pushover analyses. As a result of the investigations, rationally based values of the behaviour factor q to be used in linear analyses in the range of 2.0 to 3.0 are proposed.

Es setzt sich dabei mit den täglichen Herausforderungen auseinander, mit denen diese Kinder sowohl im Lernprozess als auch in der familiären Beziehungsdynamik konfrontiert sind. Der entwickelte Konzentrationsbegleiter und das dazugehörige Set basieren auf einer lerntherapeutischen Idee, die ein Gleichgewicht zwischen Konzentration und Entspannung erschafft. Das Gesamtsystem „MonKo“ bietet mit dem Konzentrationsbegleiter Unterstützung bei der Alltagsplanung, Priorisierung von Aufgaben und dem Umgang mit Reizen. Der Entspannungsteil des Sets präsentiert sich als „Schatzkiste“ mit sensorischen Spielzeugen und ist individuell von Therapeut:innen und Lehrkräften an die Bedürfnisse der Kinder anpassbar. Der Konzentrationsbegleiter in der Optik eines liebevollen Monsters soll den Kindern helfen, mit den Herausforderungen neuroatypischen Verhaltens umzugehen und erfolgreich in Schule und Alltag zu sein.

N2  - In der heutigen digitalisierten und individualisierten Welt spielt das Theater weiterhin eine bedeutende Rolle als kulturelle Institution und als Ort des künstlerischen Ausdrucks. Dabei ist einer der wichtigsten Aspekte die Bewegung. Sie findet auf der Bühne in jeglicher Form statt – Tanz, Gestik, Mimik, die Schritte der Schauspieler:innen, Sprünge, Armbewegungen. All diese unterschiedlichen Arten von Bewegung sind ausschlaggebend für die Wirkung der Texte und Stücke. Für das neue Erscheinungsbild des Düsseldorfer Schauspielhauses wurde dieser Bewegungsaspekt in ein spannendes, modernes und übersichtliches Corporate Design übersetzt. Das Ergebnis: Sonderzeichen, die „Bewegung“ aufgreifen und entsprechend „verformt“ wurden. Durch ihr verändertes Aussehen spiegeln sie diese Bewegung abstrahiert wider und führen abwechslungsreich durch die verschiedenen Medien.

N2  - "boys will be boys" erkundet bestehende Meinungen zum Thema Männlichkeit und versucht Alternativen zu finden: Wege, die Männlichkeit gehen und Richtungen, in die sich Männlichkeit verändern kann. Auf 236 Seiten wird das Thema von so vielen Seiten wie irgendwie möglich beleuchtet. Es gibt sowohl sehr persönliche, subjektive Beschäftigung mit dem Thema als auch eine objektive, wissenschaftliche Herangehensweise. Das Buch ist vor allem mit typografischen Elementen gestaltet worden, wobei in Inhalt und Typografie viel Wert auf Niedrigschwelligkeit gelegt wurde. Außen ist ein partieller Relieflack aufgetragen worden, innen hat das Buch bedrucktes Vorsatzpapier. Ziel des Projektes war es, Männlichkeit und die verschiedenen Meinungen dazu möglichst verständlich wiedergeben zu können, um so einen Dialog zum Thema anzuregen.

Projektoren und Beamer sind groß, schwer, unhandlich und nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Die Bedienung der meisten Beamer ist veraltet und kaum digitalisiert. PRO+SOUND löst diese Schwachstellen in einem kompakten Produkt und macht das streamen von Inhalten mühelos und kabellos. Das geringe Gewicht und der kompakte Formfaktor macht die Mitnahme für unterwegs problemlos möglich.

N2  - The Solar-Institut Jülich (SIJ) and the companies Hilger GmbH and Heliokon GmbH from Germany have developed a small-scale cost-effective heliostat, called “micro heliostat”. Micro heliostats can be deployed in small-scale concentrated solar power (CSP) plants to concentrate the sun's radiation for electricity generation, space or domestic water heating or industrial process heat. In contrast to conventional heliostats, the special feature of a micro heliostat is that it consists of dozens of parallel-moving, interconnected, rotatable mirror facets. The mirror facets array is fixed inside a box-shaped module and is protected from weathering and wind forces by a transparent glass cover. The choice of the building materials for the box, tracking mechanism and mirrors is largely dependent on the selected production process and the intended application of the micro heliostat. Special attention was paid to the material of the tracking mechanism as this has a direct influence on the accuracy of the micro heliostat. The choice of materials for the mirror support structure and the tracking mechanism is made in favor of plastic molded parts. A qualification assessment method has been developed by the SIJ in which a 3D laser scanner is used in combination with a coordinate measuring machine (CMM). For the validation of this assessment method, a single mirror facet was scanned and the slope deviation was computed.

Durch das Zusammenspiel von Forschung und Vermittlung der Kunst- und Epochengeschichte trägt das Museum maßgeblich zum Erhalt des kulturellen Erbes und dem Meinungsaustausch über die Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und die Zukunft bei. Im Fokus des neuen Erscheinungsbildes steht die an den kulturellen und historischen Kontext angepasste Szenografie des Museums. Die beeindruckend verzierten Bilderrahmen der gezeigten Kunstepochen werden abstrahiert und durch einen typografischen Rahmen neu interpretiert. Das entwickelte Headline-Prinzip wird durch eine sehr zurückhaltende Gestaltung ergänzt, was der Thematik und den gezeigten Meisterwerken Raum zum Wirken verleiht.

Das neue Erscheinungsbild für das Multimar Wattforum soll die zentralen Werte und Alleinstellungsmerkmale hervorheben und dem Informationszentrum helfen, seiner Aufgabe als bildende, wissenschaftliche und schützende Einrichtung gerecht zu werden. N2  - The presented paper gives an overview of the most important and most common theories and concepts from the economic field of organisational change and is also enriched with quantitative publication data, which underlines the relevance of the topic. In particular, the topic presented is interwoven in an interdisciplinary way with economic psychological models, which are underpinned within the models with content from leading scholars in the field. The pace of change in companies is accelerating, as is technological change in our society. Adaptations of the corporate structure, but also of management techniques and tasks, are therefore indispensable. This includes not only the right approaches to employee motivation, but also the correct use of intrinsic and extrinsic motivational factors. Based on the hypothesis put forward by the scientist and researcher Rollinson in his book “Organisational behaviour and analysis” that managers believe motivational resources are available at all times, socio-economic and economic psychological theories are contrasted here in order to critically examine this statement. In addition, a fictitious company was created as a model for this work in order to illustrate the effects of motivational deficits in practice. In this context, the theories presented are applied to concrete problems within the model and conclusions are drawn about their influence and applicability. This led to the conclusion that motivation is a very individual challenge for each employee, which requires adapted and personalised approaches. On the other hand, the recommendations for action for supervisors in the case of motivation deficits also cannot be answered in a blanket manner, but can only be solved with the help of professional, expert-supported processing due to the economic-psychological realities of motivation. Identifying, analysing and remedying individual employee motivation deficits is, according to the authors, a problem and a challenge of great importance, especially in the context of rapidly changing ecosystems in modern companies, as motivation also influences other factors such as individual productivity. The authors therefore conclude that good motivation through the individual and customised promotion and further training of employees is an important point for achieving important corporate goals in order to remain competitive on the one hand and to create a productive and pleasant working environment on the other.

N2  - This publication is intended to present the current state of research on the rebound effect. First, a systematic literature review is carried out to outline (current) scientific models and theories. Research Question 1 follows with a mathematical introduction of the rebound effect, which shows the interdependence of consumer behaviour, technological progress, and interwoven effects for both. Thereupon, the research field is analysed for gaps and limitations by a systematic literature review. To ensure quantitative and qualitative results, a review protocol is used that integrates two different stages and covers all relevant publications released between 2000 and 2019. Accordingly, 392 publications were identified that deal with the rebound effect. These papers were reviewed to obtain relevant information on the two research questions. The literature review shows that research on the rebound effect is not yet comprehensive and focuses mainly on the effect itself rather than solutions to avoid it. Research Question 2 finds that the main gap, and thus the limitations, is that not much research has been published on the actual avoidance of the rebound effect yet. This is a major limitation for practical application by decision-makers and politicians. Therefore, a theoretical analysis was carried out to identify potential theories and ideas to avoid the rebound effect. The most obvious idea to solve this problem is the theory of a Steady-State Economy (SSE), which has been described and reviewed.
