Um ein magnetbasiertes Sensorsystem (300;400) zur Erfassung einer Bewegung eines beweglichen Objekts (301;401) zu ermöglichen, das ohne externe Energieversorgung zuverlässig sowie energieeffizient arbeitet und kostengünstig hergestellt werden kann, ist bei der erfindungsgemäßen Sensorvorrichtung (10;110;210;310;410) eine Wiegand-Triggereinheit (14;14a) vorhanden, umfassend: • - einen Wiegand-Draht (30) und • - eine Trigger-Sensorspule (32), die den Wiegand-Draht (30) radial umschließt, wobei ein erstes Ende der Trigger-Sensorspule (32) der Wiegand-Triggereinheit (14;14a) mit einem ersten Ende des Triggerelements (28;128;228) der Wiegand-Sensoreinheit (12;112;212) elektrisch verbunden ist und ein zweites Ende der Trigger-Sensorspule (32) der Wiegand-Triggereinheit (14;14a) mit einem zweiten Ende des Triggerelements (28;128;228) der Wiegand-Sensoreinheit (12;112;212) elektrisch verbunden ist. Auf diese Weise verstärkt ein in der Trigger-Sensorspule (32) erzeugter Impuls das Gesamtmagnetfeld, das auf die Wiegand-Drähte (20) in der Sensoreinheit einwirkt, derart, dass die Triggefeldstärke aller Wiegand-Drähte (20) überschritten wird und diese im wesentlichen zeitgleich auslösen.

N2  - The continuously growing amount of renewable sources starts compromising the stability of electrical grids. Contradictory to fossil fuel power plants, energy production of wind and photovoltaic (PV) energy is fluctuating. Although predictions have significantly improved, an outage of multi-MW offshore wind farms poses a challenging problem. One solution could be the integration of storage systems in the grid. After a short overview, this paper focuses on two exemplary battery storage systems, including the required power electronics. The grid integration, as well as the optimal usage of volatile energy reserves, is presented for a 5- kW PV system for home application, as well as for a 100- MW medium-voltage system, intended for wind farm usage. The efficiency and cost of topologies are investigated as a key parameter for large-scale integration of renewable power at medium- and low-voltage.

N2  - Ga-doped Li7La3Zr2O12 garnet solid electrolytes exhibit the highest Li-ion conductivities among the oxide-type garnet-structured solid electrolytes, but instabilities toward Li metal hamper their practical application. The instabilities have been assigned to direct chemical reactions between LiGaO2 coexisting phases and Li metal by several groups previously. Yet, the understanding of the role of LiGaO2 in the electrochemical cell and its electrochemical properties is still lacking. Here, we are investigating the electrochemical properties of LiGaO2 through electrochemical tests in galvanostatic cells versus Li metal and complementary ex situ studies via confocal Raman microscopy, quantitative phase analysis based on powder X-ray diffraction, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and electron energy loss spectroscopy. The results demonstrate considerable and surprising electrochemical activity, with high reversibility. A three-stage reaction mechanism is derived, including reversible electrochemical reactions that lead to the formation of highly electronically conducting products. The results have considerable implications for the use of Ga-doped Li7La3Zr2O12 electrolytes in all-solid-state Li-metal battery applications and raise the need for advanced materials engineering to realize Ga-doped Li7La3Zr2O12for practical use.

N2  - Ziel der Arbeit war es eine spielerische Lernanwendung für Studierende der FH-Aachen zu entwickeln, um das individuelle Lernen zu fördern. Dabei lag der Fokus auf der Konzeptentwicklung eines Serious Games für die Fachhochschule Aachen. Abgeleitet von Motivationstheorien, Game Design Frameworks und Eigenschaften von digitalen spielerischen Konzepten wurde ein Vorgehensmodell zur Konzeptentwicklung eines Serious Games erstellt. Wichtige Punkte für die Anwendung waren eine intensive Austauschmöglichkeiten für Studierende und das Integrieren dieser in die Lehrveranstaltungen der FH-Aachen. In der abschließenden Evaluation wurde positives Feedback der Studierenden eingeholt und damit das Ziel der Arbeit erreicht.
Zusätzlich wurde für das erarbeitete Konzept die Wirtschaftlichkeit überprüft. Dafür wurde während der Bearbeitungszeit mit einem aufgestellten Team ein Business Plan für das Förderprogramm Start-Up transfer.NRW entwickelt.

N2  - In this paper we present SMART-FACTORY, a setup for a research and teaching facility in industrial robotics that is based on the RoboCup Logistics League. It is driven by the need for developing and applying solutions for digital production. Digitization receives constantly increasing attention in many areas, especially in industry. The common theme is to make things smart by using intelligent computer technology. Especially in the last decade there have been many attempts to improve existing processes in factories, for example, in production logistics, also with deploying cyber-physical systems. An initiative that explores challenges and opportunities for robots in such a setting is the RoboCup Logistics League. Since its foundation in 2012 it is an international effort for research and education in an intra-warehouse logistics scenario. During seven years of competition a lot of knowledge and experience regarding autonomous robots was gained. This knowledge and experience shall provide the basis for further research in challenges of future production. The focus of our SMART-FACTORY is to create a stimulating environment for research on logistics robotics, for teaching activities in computer science and electrical engineering programmes as well as for industrial users to study and explore the feasibility of future technologies. Building on a very successful history in the RoboCup Logistics League we aim to provide stakeholders with a dedicated facility oriented at their individual needs.

N2  - In addition to the technical content, modern courses at university should also teach professional skills to enhance the competencies of students towards their future work. The competency driven approach including technical as well as professional skills makes it necessary to find a suitable way for the integration into the corresponding module in a scalable and flexible manner. Agile development, for example, is essential for the development of modern systems and applications and makes use of dedicated professional skills of the team members, like structured group dynamics and communication, to enable the fast and reliable development. This paper presents an easy to integrate and flexible approach to integrate Scrum, an agile development method, into the lab of an existing module. Due to the different role models of Scrum the students have an individual learning success, gain valuable insight into modern system development and strengthen their communication and organization skills. The approach is implemented and evaluated in the module Vehicle Systems, but it can be transferred easily to other technical courses as well. The evaluation of the implementation considers feedback of all stakeholders, students, supervisor and lecturers, and monitors the observations during project lifetime.

N2  - Spontaneous language has rarely been subjected to neuroimaging studies. This study therefore introduces a newly developed method for the analysis of linguistic phenomena observed in continuous language production during fMRI.

Most neuroimaging studies investigating language have so far focussed on single word or — to a smaller extent — sentence processing, mostly due to methodological considerations. Natural language production, however, is far more than the mere combination of words to larger units. Therefore, the present study aimed at relating brain activation to linguistic phenomena like word-finding difficulties or syntactic completeness in a continuous language fMRI paradigm. A picture description task with special constraints was used to provoke hesitation phenomena and speech errors. The transcribed speech sample was segmented into events of one second and each event was assigned to one category of a complex schema especially developed for this purpose. The main results were: conceptual planning engages bilateral activation of the precuneus. Successful lexical retrieval is accompanied – particularly in comparison to unsolved word-finding difficulties – by the left middle and superior temporal gyrus. Syntactic completeness is reflected in activation of the left inferior frontal gyrus (IFG) (area 44). In sum, the method has proven to be useful for investigating the neural correlates of lexical and syntactic phenomena in an overt picture description task. This opens up new prospects for the analysis of spontaneous language production during fMRI.

N2  - Software development projects often fail because of insufficient code quality. It is now well documented that the task of testing software, for example, is perceived as uninteresting and rather boring, leading to poor software quality and major challenges to software development companies. One promising approach to increase the motivation for considering software quality is the use of gamification. Initial research works already investigated the effects of gamification on software developers and come to promising. Nevertheless, a lack of results from field experiments exists, which motivates the chapter at hand. By conducting a gamification experiment with five student software projects and by interviewing the project members, the chapter provides insights into the changing programming behavior of information systems students when confronted with a leaderboard. The results reveal a motivational effect as well as a reduction of code smells.
